Barbara was ready for Harry to ask about the situation.

As soon as the words left his mouth, she started crying, her face full of distress.

"Mr. Murray, you've got to help us! They're ganging up on us!

"This little girl stole Avelyn's necklace. I was trying to be understanding, thinking that kids made mistakes sometimes. So, I planned to get the necklace back and let the matter drop quietly."

Then, she pointed an accusing finger at Sophie, her expression turning bitter.

"But who would've thought the teacher would insist that the necklace belonged to that little girl and even called her father to come here," Barbara said.

"I expected the girl's father to be reasonable and that we could sort this out calmly, but he slapped me three times!

"Mr. Murray, you have to help us! Simon always speaks highly of you, saying how great you are at your job. I never imagined I'd be treated like this in your kindergarten."
