Matthew remained silent. He refused to believe Quinn was capable of such a thing. It was utterly impossible.

Once in the car, the two elders fell into a deep silence. They had always loved living in the countryside and had never enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the city. They hadn't even been to the city in years.

Maurice would occasionally take Araminta and Kimberly to visit them. Nonetheless, Kimberly and Araminta were averse to the rural surroundings and would leave without even bothering to have a meal at their place.

As Matthew and Winona made their way to Quinn, they couldn't help but reminisce about her as a child. She used to trail behind them, and she’d been unfazed by the dirt that clung to them. She would often accompany them to the fields to play and climb every tree in sight. She used to be so carefree back then.

Had it not been for that incident five years ago, their family would have been living a happy and fulfilling life.
