Hastily, Jada dried her tears, took a deep breath, trying to steady her voice, and looked at Maria with a fire in her eyes.

"I have no husband," Jada said, her eyes lost of emotion. "But I do have a man, and he's one damn good man-"

With a frown, Maria scoffed, rolling her eyes as she cut her off, "Oh please, Jada. You're just deluding yourself. Chase is cut from the same cloth as trickers. He's a predator, and he's out to get what he wants-"

"Shut up and get out because it seems like you don't know a damn thing you speak." Jada scoffed, the aura around her shifting into one that was far more dangerous and threatening than anything Maria had ever seen before in Jada's life.

'That fool! Look at the mess he made! He should have finished you. Now you have become a big problem.' Maria thought, eyeing Jada with a fake smile. 'Now that she has decided to stay by Chase's side, it will be hard for us to get rid of her. Shit!'

The air in the office suddenly grew heavy with tension as Jad

The mischief in Xander's eyes made Jada feel as if he could see right through her facade. Her lips thinning into a line, she raised her head, challenging him once more as he continued staring at her, his gaze flashing with amusement and intrigue. Jada wanted nothing but to wipe that look off of his smug, arrogant face. Before she could retaliate, Mr. Cairos cut in, looking directly at Xander, his eyes trembling with worry as he said, "Is there a problem, Mr. Gracias?" Looking back at Jada, Xander smirked and said, "I don't know. Is the one, Miss Hudson?" The thought of Chase and his trust issue with her made Jada frown, knowing that the reason she didn't want to have lunch with Xander was that she wanted Chase's permission first. But she didn't utter a word, and Mr. Cairos turned away from her, addressing Xander. "We and the other board members were over the moon when we heard that you guys were not canceling your contract with us-" "And we are not." Xander interrupted, cutting

For the longest, Jada and Xander sat silently, and then she suddenly drew her chair back, standing up. But as she turned to leave, he grabbed her hand, his grip firm but gentle. "Wait," he said, his voice low and serious. "I know we haven't gotten off on the right foot, but I want to make things right. I want to work with you, not against you. And I think this project could be the start of something great for both of our companies." Holding back her tone, Jada hesitated, her eyes meeting his. She could see the sincerity in his gaze, and for a moment, she felt a flicker of something she couldn't quite name. But then she remembered Chase and his trust issue and pulled her hand away, shaking her head. "I appreciate the offer, Mr. Gracias, but I think keeping our business relationship strictly professional is best. I have no interest in anything else." Three of her bodyguards approached them, and Jada pulled her hand out of Xander's grip. "Miss Hudson, the boss said we should take yo

After calling in sick to the company for three whole days, Jada sat in the backseat of her Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV. She rested back in her seat, her body still recovering from that day with Chase. "Ben, can you stop at Broun cafe? I need my usual if I am going to get through this day." Jada said as she stared out of the window, smiling at the thought of spending the last three days with Chase. The memories of them cuddled up on the sofa watching movies, cooking and messing up the kitchen, just sitting in the silence of the garden and staring at the sun go down made her smile, her cheek growing hot. It was the happiest she had ever seen him, and it was because of the fact she did not have to deal with work or being away from him, and he was taking care of her. But now that she was going back to the company, a part of her felt nervous about what this meant for them. After a few minutes, the five vehicles came to a stop, and Jada looked at her driver, saying, "I will be quick. There'

Staring at Chase with disbelief in his eyes, Jacob scoffed, "Seriously, Boss. Are you still giving her the benefit of the doubt? After everything she's done to you?" Jada's heart sank as she looked at Chase, seeing the hurt and betrayal in his eyes. She knew she had to do something to prove her innocence, to show him that she would never betray him like this. Taking a deep breath, Jada stood up from her desk, her eyes locked on Chase's, and said. "I swear to you, Chase, on everything that I hold dear, that there is no truth in this news. I would never betray you like this, and I will do everything in my power to prove my integrity. I went to grab a coffee, and he showed up there-" "And you want us to believe that you did know when you were the one who begged your security not to follow you because it felt weird?" Jacob interrupted, his voice dripping with sarcasm. Throwing her gaze on him, Jada's eyes narrowed, her anger boiling over as she blurted out, "I didn't know he was going

Relief washed over Jada as the truth spilled out, no longer confined to the shadows of doubt. The battle she had fought so fiercely, the struggle to prove her innocence, had finally reached its climactic moment. A laugh from Leon echoed over the speaker, and then she said without taking her eyes off Chase, "Isn't it pitiful running after a woman that doesn't love you? Even if Mr. Aniston turns me away, I rather eat dog shit than come crawling back to you, Leon." Pushing Maria off him, Leon barked into the phone, "Jada-" "What?! You thought that ruining my relationship would force me back into your arms, huh? What a fool. I am not a bitch that eats her vomit after throwing it out, Leon." Jada spat. There was a short silence after she finished speaking, and suddenly, Leon started laughing, his laughter getting more hysterical. "That's priceless! That's so damn hilarious!" Leon growled lowly, the veins on his neck popping up. "Do you ever stop and think that I am doing all of the

Calmly, Jada took a step backward, and Chase sniffed back his anger for himself, his feet heavy to move for her. "Jada, please," he pleaded. "I can't begin to express how sorry I am for what I said, for accusing you of such a thing. It was all a terrible mistake." Finally, he looked up, her teary eyes meeting his. Her vulnerability pierced his heart, and she said calmly, "I get it. There was a photo. But Chase, you have no idea how much those accusations hurt me. I thought you trusted me." Forcing himself, Chase took a step closer, but Jada held up her hand, a silent plea for him to stay where he was. He respected her request and remained at a distance as he said, "Jada, I let my jealousy and insecurity get the best of me. The instant my sight rested on that photo, I didn't think clearly. It was a mistake, and I take full responsibility for it." Looking at the ground, Jada wiped away a tear with the back of her hand and let out a shaky breath. "You have no idea how much I love yo

A yawn escaped from the depths of Jada's lip and echoed through the room, a testament to the weariness that had settled into her bones. The weight of the week's burdens had finally lifted, leaving her feeling lighter than air. With a little stretch that seemed to reach the very tips of her fingers, she welcomed the embrace of her soft, inviting mattress once more, hugging the pillow as her eyes fluttered closed. But just as she was about to succumb to the sweet oblivion of sleep, the sound of the door creaking open pierced through the silence, and Jada's senses perked up, her body stirring ever so slightly. She was not alone. The footsteps that followed were soft, barely audible, but they resonated within her, igniting a warmth that spread through her veins since she knew whose presence it was. Even as the bed shifted under the weight of another, Jada remained still, her eyes stubbornly shut. Smiling down at her, Chase's arm snaked around her waist, his touch gentle and posses

The morning sun danced through the lace curtains, casting a warm glow across the spacious room. Beaming, Jada stood in front of the grand mirror, her reflection a vision of ethereal beauty. As she admired her reflection, her heart swelled with excitement and anticipation. The room buzzed with the sound of laughter and joy as Sarah, Katherine, and Ivy, gathered around her. Their faces were aglow with love and pride, mirroring Jada's own emotions. With gentle hands, they carefully fastened the buttons on her gown, each intricate detail an homage to the love she shared with Chase. One Year Later The screeching tires echoed through the deserted parking lot as Ben expertly maneuvered the black car to a smooth stop. A symphony of engines ceased their purring, one after another, as the sixteen vehicles following in his wake mirrored his actions. For a while, Jacob, his sharp eyes never leaving the screen of his phone, got down with the other, and then he finally glanced up from the glow of the device. His commanding voice cut through the stillness. "Master Chase and Lady Jada are coming outside with young master," Men clad in impeccably tailored black suits emerged from the shadows, their presence commanding attention. They fanned out around the car, forming a protective circle, a formidable wall of security. Each man radiated an aura of strength, their eyes scanning the surroundings with a practiced vigilance. The sun dipped below the horizon, casting the airport in a hazy twilight. The flickering glow of the streetlights above bathed the scene in an othe

"Don't worry, rest yourself, and this will all be over," Chase said, stroking her cheeks to calm the stress that itched on her face. As he was about to leave the bed, Jada grabbed his hand, her grip tight and desperate. She looked up at him with wide, tear-filled eyes and said, "I want to come with you." "Babe, you know that's not what I mean," "Stress is not good for our baby," "That's why I don't want you to come," "If I stay back, I am going to die from anxiety." Silence settled between them, the weight of their emotions intensifying in the dimly lit room, and Chase brushed his palm over his face and mumbled in his head, 'This is either going to break us up... or you love me beyond what I can ever imagine.' On the one hand, I had the privilege of being raised in a wealthy and influential family, but on the other hand, I felt a sense of isolation and detachment from it all. My parents, especially my father, were deeply immersed in the world of business. The HH Corporation was everything to him, and he had little time or inclination to be a father. I think he believed that providing for me financially was enough." Calmly, Jada approached the bed, sitting by him, and took his hand in hers, staring down at the floor.
