Roberta’s eyes were filled with tears as she stormed out of the room. What upset her was how emotional she was about the whole thing. When she had started writing about the case, the only thing that was on her mind was to take down Wyatt but now, she was scared of how deep everything was.

Wyatt was emotionally attached to his daughter, if he found out the truth, he would not only attack the writer but he’d attack her family too.

Fred didn't bother to hold her back, he wasn't proud of what he did but what had happened couldn't be changed. Wyatt deserved even more than that. If they thought of how many people he had hurt and destroyed their businesses, it would be way more worse than what he had done. Also, Mrs wyatt had a share in the blame. If only she had run away with him the first time that she asked her to do so, maybe they wouldn’t have had to deal with all these now.

She cleaned the tears off her face with the back of her palm. The tears mixed with her mascara and it

Roberta finalized her meeting with Doris. She contacted an interior designer and they agreed to meet as soon as possible. The security that had followed her made her uncomfortable but she was kind of used to it. Life was fabulous for her even though her parents were scared for her, they knew she was working with Doris. Even though her father wasn’t having any of it, he had to painfully accept that his once shy daughter was now a teenager and he needed to let her make decisions for herself. Roberta drove to West bridge, she decided to set up a meeting with Doris. Doris was able to find a quiet location in the rural part of Oregon. It didn’t seem like much but she enjoyed how quiet and peaceful everything was. Also, Wyatt couldn’t locate her there because it was restricted. She felt sorry

Mark gave her some of his clothes to put on as her clothes in her box were soaked. She held the oversized gray shirt, she had never worn another man's cloth except for Nate’s own. It had been a couple of days since her secret had gotten out and she was surprisingly doing fine for herself. After she had poured out her heart to her parents and Esme, she felt absolutely better, life wasn’t that bad, she had told herself. Nate had tried contacting her but in her usual strong headed manner, she had ignored him. She didn’t need anyone judging her or scolding her for what she had done. She frowned at herself, it was only right that she gave him a chance to speak but she wasn’t ready to do so, at least not yet. She needed some space as the cameras were all over her. On one particular day, she had woken up to a couple of reporters outside her home. Her mother was so livid that she had to call the police to get rid of them. She absolutely loved the attention that she was getting. Her

The last few nights had been the best nights of her life, she slept comfortably with her friend Esme and in her arms, also she had no reason to worry as she was comfortable. She loved the comfort of her room, it reminded her of her teenage years, posters of her favorite band were hung up on the wall, they looked faded but she left them there anyway. The new room was perfect and she had brought almost everything from the old house. She stretched lazily on her bed, her days had become routine, she helped her parents at the restaurant, visited Esme often to take care of her and went to the shelter after work hours. Her mother always picked up at the second ring. She received a text from Ruby, asking her if she was still going to make it for the party. She tried to calm herself down but it wasn't working. She took her Zoloft pills. One thing she had in common with Ruby was anxiety. Doris had once joked that if they checked the meal that had the most, it had to be their Zoloft pills.Mark had gotten her and Ruby invited for Taylor’s all white yacht party. As the celebrity chef, he was allowed to bring a few guests. Roberta had thought of how dramatic it was going to be, having Ruby and Taylor and the same boat. She imagined one of them was going to end up being pushed into the pool. "Dear God" she began. She was taught to pray and attended mass as a child but she wasn't deeply rooted, she saw the whole church thing as an opportunity for the rich to oppress the poor.

Roberta decided to pass the night at the hospital. She texted Mark and Ruby, apologizing for not attending the party. She sat beside Lorenzo's bed, watching him. He looked very peaceful in sleep just like his father. She spoke with the doctor in charge earlier, he said Lorenzo's injury was a casualty and it was going to heal nicely in no time. She checked her phone for any texts from Carl, the father of her baby. She wished he could send her a text, saying literally anything. She sighed, was this what love was? She asked herself. Being so insecure and indecisive, also being cold and confused. "Honey, have some soup," Giorgia offered, handing her a bowl of soup. "Thanks Mom," she smiled. Her tummy rumbled, she hadn't eaten anything and was taking her Zoloft pills. Ruby got dressed for the party. Her hair was put in a usual ponytail, she felt so confident and excited for what was going to happen at the yacht. She applied another coat of lip gloss and stared at herself in the mirror. Mark invited her to spite Taylor. She had given him invites for a few people and she didn’t think it through that he would invite her archenemy, Ruby. "Thank you so much, Nate,"she smiled as she unlocked her car.She loved how kind he was, even though they had quarreled most of the time, he didn’t forsake her. He wished he could teleport into her mind and figure out what is wrong with her. Ruby had an ego and won't tell anyone if she had any problem. He shook his head sadly. "Ruby" he began softly, treading carefully. "Is there anything that is troubling you?" He watched her swallow the lump in her throat before she continued. Marco paced angrily, a cigarette in hand. Taylor Wyatt wasn't making things easy for him. He had taken her to different islands and thrown the biggest parties for her friends. He sighed as he drew in his smoke, how annoying could the spoiled brat get? So far, her father's campaign was doing just fine and he had a good chance of winning the election. It was crazy that the office for the minister of finance election was more popular than that of the election for the office of president. This was because very influential people were running for the post of Minister of finance. Occupying the office gave them free access to the country's wealth and they could loot money as much as they wanted to. He spent the last week acting all lovey-dovey with Taylor. Roberta stretched tiredly . Mommy duties were stressing her. She had woken up early to bathe Lorenzo , feed him and take him to school. She drew out a carefully planned family tree for him. His school’s principal had called her back the next day. Rebecca stood her ground that getting the children involved with aspiring candidates was dangerous. Some of the candidates were dangerous themselves and would go the extra mile to harm innocent children in order to attain political positions. The principal brushed it off as nothing and assured her that he had everything under control. He said that Wyatt was only being generous and concerned about the children’s welfare. He had donated a huge sum of money and promised them a new basketball court. Of course, Wyatt was the least interested in the children’s welfare. He only wanted their support in the upcoming elections and he had invited reporters to take pictures of him as he donated money to the school. The interior decorator for th

After a long day, Roberta returned home. The smell of her mother’s freshly baked cakes welcomed her. Her mouth watered immediately. “Mommy!” Lorenzo yelled happily as he played around his mother’s feet. She scooped her little delight into her arms and rained kisses on him. She did a good job masking the sadness she felt. When Carl was eating, she noticed some scars on his hands due to the moving of his shirt. She panicked, fresh tears falling off her eyes the third time. She scolded him for subjecting himself to such harsh punishment. He brushed it off, saying it was nothing important. Her heart shattered into a million pieces when she forced him to take off his shirt. The scars ran all the way from his nape to his lower back. It was obvious that he was attacked because of her and that was the reason he hadn’t contacted for a while. She prayed Lorenzo was nothing like that. She helped him apply ointment even though he assured her that he was doing just fine. When he w
