I must have fallen asleep at some point as I woke up to someone unlocking the door. I jumped up as Megan walked In with a tray of food, the smell making my stomach rumble.
“You need to eat,” she told me, setting the tray down on the bed.
“I’m fine, thanks,” I told her, ignoring the pangs of hunger.
“I made it myself, and you need to keep your strength up.” She sighed before sitting on the bed. “I understand you may not trust me after what my sister has done, but I know Nathan. We grew up together and were friends, and if he promised your brother he would look after you, then I know he’s coming, and you need to be ready for a fight. Xavier isn’t going just to hand you over, so you need to be ready.”
