Quinn's point of view
I couldn't take my eyes off Callum. What the hell was he doing here. I found myself subconsciously moving closer to Nathan. I felt Nathan tense beside me as he watched Callum and the man at his side with a neutral expression on his face.
-what's wrong? I can feel your fear- Nathan mind linked me as Noah closed the door and showed Callum and the other man to their seats.
-Callum is Xavier’s brother- I mind linked back.
“Alpha Nathan, it's lovely to meet you finally. “I'm Alpha Callum from Red Crescent, and this is my Beta Ross; we spoke on the phone earlier,” Callum announced with a smile as he introduced himself and his Beta.
“Yes, I remember, but I didn't realise that you were Alpha Xavier’
Quinn’s point of viewLunch was fun, or to be more accurate, the cocktails were delightful. The waitress kept bringing us drinks and was spending more and more time at our table; it was apparent she had her eye on Asher. When I mentioned that to Asher, he fixed me with a death stare and informed me that he was not leaving my side for a second until Nathan told him he was free to do so. He even followed me to the bathroom, thankfully deciding to wait outside.Personally, I thought he was taking things a bit far, but he didn’t want to get on the wrong side of his brother again. Megan and Summer found it hysterical and were doing their level best to annoy Asher and even went as far as to try embarrassing him. That fell flat as I don't think anything could embarrass him.-Are you still with Asher- Nathan's voice slithered around my head, making me feel warm and fuzzy. That might have just been the a
Quinn's point of viewWe had more cocktails and more food; we sat and talked, and joked most of the night. I noticed Megan was laughing and joking with the rest of us, but I saw the painful look in her eye when she thought no one else was watching. Tomorrow will be hard for her to visit the sister that not only killed her mate but tried to kill her. I couldn't imagine Liam doing anything like that to me or vice versa. It was unfathomable. Summer and I would be there for Megan and help her get through it once Allie is banished, and I still had high hopes that she would find her second chance, mate.Nathan nudged me out of my thoughts. “Shouldn't we be heading home? You have your first day at the pack hospital tomorrow.” He whispered in my ear, making me shiver.“Yeah, we should definitely go home,” I told him, marvelling at how husky my voice suddenly sounded. Nathan must have noticed
Quinn's point of view“It's time to wake up, baby. Megan's ready to visit Allie; then you have to go to work.” Nathan whispered in my ear.“Go away” I pushed him away, although not far.He was entirely too cheerful for my liking this early in the morning. I opened my eye and saw the biggest smirk on his gorgeous face with those caramel eyes twinkling.“Why are you up so early.” I groaned as I pulled the duvet over my head.“It's 9.30. Quinn, I’ve been at work for hours. Megan wants to visit Allie, so I came back to wake you up. I've brought breakfast.” he murmured, gently pulling the duvet off me. “I'll go set breakfast out while you get dressed.”I didn't know why I slept so late, but I better get a move on. I quickly showered and dressed, then brushed my hair and put it in a bun before head
Quinn's point of viewI walked inside and up to the reception desk and was thankful that Michelle wasn't there. It was someone else, and I briefly wondered if that was a coincidence or deliberate. The brown haired girl sitting behind the desk gave me a friendly smile as I walked to her desk.“Hi, can I help you?” she asked with a big smile.“I'm Quinn; I am starting work here today with Emily,” I told her, feeling nervous all over again. The girl suddenly jumped to her feet. “Hello Luna, how lovely to meet you. I'm Phoebe. If you will follow me ill take you to Emily.”“It's nice to meet you, Phoebe; please call me Quinn,” I told her as I followed her through the hall to Emily’s office.Phoebe knocked on the door and waited until Emily shouted, come in before we entered
Quinn's point of viewI knocked on Nathan's office door and waited as I didn't want to waltz in and interrupt him if he was busy.“Come in,” he shouted in his deep voice.I entered to find him behind his desk buried in a mountain of paperwork with Noah looking over his shoulder and Asher reclining on the small couch against the wall. Nathan smiled and relaxed when he saw me.“How did you get on?”“It was great, but I have a lot of reading to do and homework. Do you have a computer I could use?.” it had only occurred to me that I didn't have a computer for the online work.“I knew you would need one, so I bought you a laptop; it's at home third drawer in the kitchen behind the door.”I melted at how sweet he was. I hadn't even thought of it, but not only had he, but he'd gone to the
Quinn’s point of ViewI opened my eyes to darkness; the only light was the glare from the telly. I must have fallen asleep watching the telly, and I assumed Asher must have put the cover over me once I had fallen asleep. I headed out the back door towards the noise and saw all my friends around the picnic table eating Chinese takeout.“Are you sure your not a cat? You’re either sleeping or eating.” Asher teased as I sat down on Nathan’s lap and cuddled into him.“Leave her alone”, Nathan warned, tightening his arms around me. “Her first day obviously took it out of her.”Summer stood up, grabbing an empty plate and started filling it with all my favourites before sitting it down in front of me with a smile. “Eat up, Quinn.”“Thanks, Sum. Did you get your secret bridesmaid stuff d
Today wasn't off to the best start, and my day got even worse when I entered the hospital and saw Michelle behind the reception desk. Luckily for me, Amy came out of the staff room.“Hey, Quinn, do you want a coffee before you start. Emily isn't in yet, so you have time?” Amy smiled, linking my arm as we headed into the staff room.“Emily has a couple of appointments this morning, and she wants you to shadow her, but before that, she wants me to do training with you on the drug inventory.”“Ok, that sounds good.” I made a coffee, and Amy took me to the drug storage room and showed me how they recorded all the drugs that came in and how we double check the meds that get used for patients. We were halfway through when we heard a commotion from the reception area. I recognised Nathans voice straight away. I rushed out with Amy hot on my heels.
Quinn's point of view“I'm worried about her, and I think all this stress is making her ill.” Summer whispered from the kitchen.I had woken up on the couch a few minutes ago and hearing hushed voices from the kitchen. I must have fallen asleep on the sofa during the film.“She's tired, Summer, that's all.” Nathan sounded exasperated.“Nathan, I have known Quinn my whole life, and this isn't like her. This whole past week, she's been falling asleep at the drop of a hat, and even when she's awake, she looks tired and quite frankly ill.” Summer snapped.“I’ll keep an eye on her, and I can speak to Emily if you're that worried.”“I'm fine”, I shouted from the living room, alerting them to the fact I was now awake.Summer and Nathan walked into
Quinn’s point of viewOne year laterI was blowing up balloons as I looked around the garden. Today was the twins first birthday party, and we had decided to keep it just family. I set a picnic blanket on the ground and sat a few toys down for Sophie and Asher to play with. I still can’t believe they are one year old already; this year has flown past.Summer stepped out with her seven month old daughter Melissa. She placed Melissa with the twins and came to help me with the food. Melissa and Sophie were joined at the hip so much so that Melissa cries anytime she is taken away from Sophie. Summer and I think they are going to grow up as close as we did and always be friends. Asher or AJ, as we have taken to calling him to make it less confusing when they are both around, is usually with his uncle Asher. They have a special bond. Asher can’t go anywhere without AJ tagging along.
Quinn's point of viewWe made it to the pack hospital in record time. Asher pulled in seconds behind us, running straight for my door to help me out. Nathan soon scooped me up in his arms and rushed me into the hospital. Amy was waiting for us at the reception desk, chatting to Phoebe. Both of them had huge smiles on their faces.“How are you feeling, Quinn,” Amy asked as she ushered us into one of the private rooms.“She’s in labour; her waters broke about half an hour ago, and she’s having contractions.” Nathan barked at her.“Lay her down on the bed, and we will have a look at her.”“Where’s Emily? She should be here by now.” Nathan shouted at Amy yet again before his eyes glazed over as he mind linked Emily to hurry up.“Nate, if
Quinn's point of view“Finally here.” Summer exclaimed as the car pulled to a stop, and I saw my brother waiting on us, looking happier and more content than I had ever seen him before. I quickly jumped out of the car at the same time as Summer. Liam wrapped us both up in his arms.“I can't believe you are both having babies,” he said, his eyes filling with tears as he placed one hand on my huge bump and one hand on Summer’s tiny bump that you wouldn't know was there if you didn't think she was pregnant.“Now you have three more reasons to come visit us. Now, where is Megan?” Summer asked as she looked around and saw plenty of pack members walking about with many watching us, but Megan wasn't one of them.“She's in the main hall with Sarah, and I have been threatened to within an inch of my life to stay out of there unt
Quinn's point of view “Mate”, Asher murmured, staring at Cara. Cara wasn't looking at him; she was looking at his hand, which was still holding my arm. “Cara, this is my brother in law Asher,” I told her as I shook his arm off me, snapping her out of her trance. “Let's give them a moment to get acquainted.” Mrs Roberts said quietly as she ushered us out of the kitchen, snapping her fingers at the rest of the staff. I ran back into the dining room to our table with Summer and Nathan laughing behind me. “Liam, Mrs Roberts granddaughter Cara is Asher’s mate.” I chirped happily as I flopped down at the table. “That's great. She's a lovely girl. I really hope they're happy together.” Liam was genuinely happy for them both.&
Quinn's point of view “Quinn, Nate, wake up; that's us here.” Summer spoke softly as she leaned over from the front seat and gently shook my arm. “Sorry, I must have fallen asleep,” I told her, pulling myself up and out of Nathan's arms as he grumbled lightly when I moved away from him. “Yeah, I didn't have the heart to wake you.” she smiled, reminding me of the first time we drove to Nathan's pack, and I woke up all cuddled into him; she wore the same smile that day, and the glint in her eye told me she remembered. The door opened, and Asher leaned in with his trademark smirk as he eyed Nathan and me. “You two coming of what.” “Yes, we are” I pushed Asher back as I climbed out of the car. We followed Liam through the packhouse up to the Alpha suit. He he
Quinn's point of view Sarah made a huge picnic type spread for dinner, and we all sat around the table joking and laughing. There was no fear of being kidnapped by a crazy Alpha trying to make me his mate or a crazy girl wanting my mate. I was just having dinner with my family and friends, and it was glorious. The only downside was that I knew Liam and Megan would be going back to their pack in the morning, and although we were going with them, I knew in a day or two, depending on how long Nathan could be away from the pack, we would be leaving without them. The only consolation is that they would be together. After everything Megan has been through with her old mate, she deserves a mate that will cherish her, and Liam will do that, and I couldn't be happier that Liam would have a loving mate like Megan. “Are you ok? You are in your own wee world?” Nathan whispere
Quinn's point of view “Hey, lazybones, you planning on lying in bed the rest of the year.” Asher’s voice pulled me from my sleep; opening my eyes to look at him, I groaned when the light hit me. “It’s too bright”, I mumbled as I pulled myself up. “That’s what happens when you sleep for almost two days straight. Emily says you can go home whenever your ready.” he smiled as he sat on the chair next to me. “Where’s Nate?” I asked as I looked around and realised he wasn’t in the room. I had been sleeping on and off since I was brought to the hospital, and every time I woke, Nathan was right next to me. “I think he’s having a nap,” Asher told me, his lip twitching as he tried not to laugh. “Oh my god, Asher, what did you do?” I glared at him as he starte
Nathan's point of viewI ran for about ten minutes before I decided to head back. I didn’t want to be far away in case I was needed, but I felt like a coiled spring all wound up waiting for answers. I practically ran into the woods after speaking with Michelle. I was at odds with my wolf; he wanted to rip her apart there and then, and I had to hold him back because if I hurt or worse killed her, we may never know where she took Quinn.-Nathan, I’ve got her, heading to the hospital now- Asher mind linked me.I raced to the hospital and saw both Amy and Emily standing outside with a patient bed.“We don’t know how bad she is; he just told us he was bringer her here,” Emily told me quickly.“He’s here”, Amy cried as she raced past me.Asher held one hand up to
Nathan's point of viewI got to Michelle's house before her, which gave me time to look around; although we all agreed she would be stupid to take Quinn to her own house but I snooped anyway, hoping she might have left a clue somewhere telling us of her plans or where she might be holding Quinn. That’s if she’s the one holding her for all we knew; she came up with the plan and handed Quinn off to someone else. I sat down on the porch, my head in my hands. I’d been awake now for over twenty-four hours with Quinn being gone for over nine now, and I felt absolutely useless. The last time she was taken, we knew who by and where she was being held, so it was easy to form a plan and go get her back, and if it was only rogues that attacked, I had no doubt I would have saved her, but I hate not knowing where she is or if she’s being harmed.-Michelle is on her way up the street; she’s comin
