Xasha stood on the giant cube that held the Black Rhino calves, looking at an enormous black tornado extending from the sky to the ground. The tornado was spinning at over 200mph and moving along the plain, destroying everything in its path.
Tornadoes were not a rare occurrence in the black plains. The conditions here were perfect for many natural disasters with multiple tornadoes, earthquakes, and hurricanes forming here every year. This tornado was the biggest he had ever seen or heard of and Xasha could feel powerful wind energy radiating from it.
"That's a big tornado kid, it's amazing you could sense this from nearly a thousand miles away. You made the right decision coming here. I can sense the presence of a wind spirit. It's in the middle of that tornado. We will wait for it to die down, then we will try to capture it."
"Why wait?" The confirmation that what he had been looking for was here was all Xasha needed. He immediately got to work. He waved his hand and the air around the tornado solidified, then started spinning in the opposite direction. After a few minutes, the tornado began slowing down.
Xasha grinned after seeing that his plan worked, but then something happened. The tornado started speeding back up, spinning even faster than it was before. Xasha furrowed his brows, "you think you can fight back? You're mine," he waved his hand again. The solidified hair cylinder started spinning faster. This started a tug of war between Xasha and the tornado. It would speed up, then Xahsa's air cylinder would spin even faster.
The clash caused untold destruction to the surrounding land. Sand and stone rose from the ground only to be hurled through the air. This went on for a few minutes until the cylinder got up to a speed of 600mph. The tornado just couldn't go any further and began slowing down.
Xasha was getting excited again, he was getting tired after that bout. He had used little mana, but his mind was put through its paces. Controlling energy particles for such a long period of time was draining. He was already feeling a headache coming on.
"I wish I knew some spells," Xasha cursed under his breath. Controlling energy particles put untold pressures on the mind. Many people died trying to control them for long periods of time. Xasha had to thank his Open Mind talent for this victory, without it he would have already lost consciousness.
he wished he knew spells because spells could control the energy particles for him with no consequences to himself, he would just draw the magic circle and let it do the heavy lifting.
After a few about 15 minutes, the tornado was coming to a stop and Xasha could see a shadow within the tornado.
"Haha you're amazing kid," Saxon was amazed at what he just saw, this kid actually stopped a tornado in its tracks.
Xasha laughed sheepishly, "With a father like you, I at least have to try to be decent do-."
An explosion interrupted their conversation.
"What happened?"
"The wind spirit broke through my cylinder like it was nothing. Must be in the platinum Realm at least."
"Platinum rank, huh?" The tornado stopped and they could see what was in the sky. It was a 30ft tall black humanoid creature with a head shaped like a crown. Its body looked like a long coat with the edges bitten off by a wolf. The entire thing looked like a shadow with no discerning features.
"That's an alpha wind spirit, I think it just broke through. Alpha wind spirits are at the Thorium Realm, we might be in trouble here kid."
"Really?" Seeing how serious his father got, he knew the situation was dire.
"Yes, but there's a chance we can make it out of this alive. It's injured, and pretty bad too." He chuckled, "kid, you disrupted its breakthrough, now it's facing a backlash. I might even be able to take it on." Noticing this put Saxon in an excellent mood. He couldn't believe his luck as he burst out laughing at the end.
"We can win? Are you sure?" Xasha was not convinced. Even if it was injured, a skinny Lion is still bigger than a house cat.
"Only one way to know for sure," Saxon unsheathed Red Fang. Snapping his finger, he created a spark then compressed the billowing sea of flames created by his talent onto the blade of his Katana. He swung his sword diagonally and a crescent moon shaped flame left the tip of the blade and headed towards the wind spirit.
The wind spirit waved its hand to create a similar crescent moon shaped wind blade that went out to meet the flame blade heading towards it.
A loud explosion was heard as the two collided. A massive shock wave filled with flames came from the collision. Xasha waved his hand, putting up a barrier made of solidified air.
The Shockwave hit the barrier, Xasha gnashed his teeth. He could feel how powerful the Shockwave was. Almost breaking through the most powerful barrier he could make at this point in time.
"You alright kid?" Saxon asked without looking back.
"Yeah, I'm alright. That thing is strong."
"Haha, how can that be considered strong? it's lost over 50% of its power, otherwise, we'd both be dead. With its body in this state, we can beat it, look at its chest."
Xasha looked at the wind spirit to see a diagonal slash across its chest. The cut still had flames still burning inside of it. The wound was being healed at a rapid rate and the fire was being extinguished. In less than half a minute the wound was gone.
The Alpha Wind Spirit Roared in anger. Xasha could see the changes in its aura and could tell that it felt insulted. Being injured by what it considered insects. Its honor was besmirched, and it wanted revenge. The wind spirit waved its hand again and a small tornado formed and headed towards the father and son.
They took action immediately, Xasha waved his hand and created another air cylinder around the tornado that spun in the opposite direction. He was not taking any chances; he used his full power to make the air cylinder rotate at 600mph, the fastest he could make it. The wind spirit tried to speed up its tornado, but it lost the momentum and the tornado unraveled.
Saxon jumped into the air, a compressed jet of flames from shot out from under his feet. He put both hands together and raised them above his head. A sea of flames came out of his fists and within milliseconds compressed into a pair of muscular arms that formed a double fist about his head. He brought down his flame fists on the wind spirit's head.
The wind spirit put up a wind barrier, but the momentum was once again against it. The fists broke through the barrier and then slammed down on its head.
The wind spirit shot out of the sky like a bullet and crashed into the ground with an Explosion. Looking down, Xasha could see a giant crater formed by the impact in the already destroyed ground. Rocks and debris from the explosion fell from the sky like rain and a plume of black dust and smoke created a mushroom in the sky.
Saxon was back on the air cube, "I think we made it even angrier, This is fun." He laughed out loud, "GET OUT HERE AND TAKE YOUR ASS WHOOPING LIKE A MAN."
"Dad, try not to provoke it too much," Xasha was amazed at how strong both his father and the wind spirit was. He was even more impressed at what his father managed to do with the mana compression technique. H still couldn't pack the particles as tightly or keep them compressed for as long as Xasha, but he used it in short powerful bursts to fit his fighting style.
"You've spent the last 3 years perfecting this new fighting style for yourself and its mind-blowingly powerful."
The wind spirit rose from the rubble on the ground. It looked completely fine, as if it had never been in an intense fight but taking an afternoon stroll. It ascended slowly while staring at Saxon with its green eyes.
"It doesn't have a scratch on it," Xasha commented.
"It's got scratches alright, it's gotten even weaker than before. Look at its body, doesn't it look a bit more transparent?"
The wind spirit roared in anger. It raised its hand over its head, then brought it down. Hundreds of crescent moon wind blades formed and came after Saxon. The wind spirit hadn't even looked at Xasha once this whole time.
Saxon slashed with Red Fang, a sea of flames spread then, Growl! A pack of over 100 flaming wolves jumped out of the sea of fire. Using their claws and jaws, they clawed and bit the wind blades, turning them back into loose fire particles. Quite a few wolves were sliced to pieces by the wind blades. All the wind blades were exhausted but a few dozen wolves remained, who were still attacking the wind spirit from all sides.
The wind spirit gave another angry roar as it held its hand out. A green magic circle about 12 meters in diameter took shape. A massive green vortex came out of the magic circle and swallowed up all the wolves on its way towards Saxon. Both father and son acted simultaneously, Xasha waved his hand and over 30 of his strongest air barriers stacked on top of each other. Saxon pointed his palm at the wind spirit and red magic circle came into being, a giant Red Dragon Snake came out and headed straight for the wind spirit.
The vortex collided with the stacked barrier, imminently about 20 of the 30 plus barriers broke into loose particles. Shockwaves send the air particles dancing after every clash with the barrier. He lost barriers almost every few seconds. When only 2 barriers remained the vortex finally ran out of energy and dispersed.
"So this is the power of spells? They are amazing! Hahaha," Xasha was enjoying the adrenaline rush.
"Now you're getting it kid, Haha," they seemed to be having a blast in this dangerous situation. "That guy isn't looking so good."
Xasha looked at the wind spirit, half of the wind spirit's body was gone and the other half was engulfed in flames. The missing half was being regenerated, and the fire was being extinguished at a fast pace. "Why is this thing so tough," Saxon complained.
Xasha waved his hand and the air cylinder appeared around the wind spirit spinning at high speeds. The wind spirit was about to break through the cylinder when a pair of giant fists slammed down on his head. The wind spirit was slammed into the hard ground once again, leaving behind another crater.
"I think we need to drain its energy, we can't kill it like this. Its body is made of wind energy so as long as it has energy it can regenerate," Xasha suggested this after observing everything.
"You're right, but we will run out of energy before it does. This is a Thorium Realm energy beast after all."
"You forget that we have the mana berries, with it we can replenish our mana almost endlessly," after saying this Xasha tossed a mana berry into his mouth and started chewing while Saxon did the same.
A fully regenerated wind spirit flew out the rubble, waved its hand and 3 magic circles appeared and 3 dragon-shaped wind vortexes formed and went after Saxon. Xasha created 3 different stacked barriers packed tighter than before and with 50 barriers each blocking all three dragon vortexes. Saxon clasped his hands. A giant sea of flames came out of his hands, then compressed into a giant humanoid figure around 15 meters tall with a 25-meter long Katana. He charged forward and started attacking the wind spirit in close combat.
Saxon gave up all defenses and focused on attacking as he had Xasha was behind him, watching the fight and putting up air barriers when needed. The duo worked like this to waste all wind spirit's energy; they used their full power, not holding anything back. Whenever they ran low on the energy, they would eat a mana berry and replenish their depleted energy reserves.
They kept this going for 32 hours straight. At midnight the next day, something changed.
The ground looked as if it had experienced a meteor shower. There were molten rocks that formed mana puddles on the ground. Plumes of smoke and dust kept rising into the air and the entire battlefield smelt of sulfur. The Alpha Wind Spirit floated silently in the sky with its body all but transparent. The only discerning thing was a black ball spinning in its head. The father and son were standing on the air cube in the sky. Their faces were pale but were plastered with brilliant smiles."I think it's time to deliver the final blow," Saxon was ready for this to be over. Eating too many mana berries had taken a toll
Xasha was sitting on the makeshift purification magic circle. He used his Truth Eyes to look at the orb in lying his palm. Inside the orb, he could see 3 separate magic circles. One hid sight, the other hid sound, and the last hid Arua. Looking at the runes, the structures were loose with a lot of empty spaces and badly drawn lines. He spent a few hours cleaning up the lines and connecting some unfinished lines. As a result, the power of the orb improved exponentially. He drew hundreds of similar magic circles on the walls of the crater and connected them together. The formation he created had the concealment orb a
One month later.Xasha walked out of the Enchantment Department, crossed the courtyard, and walked into the combat magic department. He found an empty energy chamber and started meditating. He needed to organize all the information in his head.Xasha once asked his mother about why people have to meditate and why is it only done in energy chambers. His mother told him that meditation was not a requirement for attracting mana. One's body passively attracts mana 24 hours a day. The rate of attraction is higher while a person is asleep. While one is asleep, the body isn't using as
Xasha had to wait 10 weeks before he saw either of his parents again. He was not idle during this time at all. He raised every like library, study room, and storage room that he could find. He wanted to expand his knowledge of runes and magic circles. He needed to study as many magic circles as possible and the runes that make them up. He would then try to translate those runes into words and sentences. Observe what these runes are commanding different energy particles to do and how energy particles respond to those commands.
Energy beast corpses were treasures beyond compare. Every inch of them had value and could be sold for a small fortune. The blood, tears, eyes, mucus, and other bodily fluids and organs could be sold to alchemists. The skin and scales make clothes, armor, and parchment. The bones, teeth, and claws make weapons and jewelry, magic cores are used to make energy bombs and their meat is filled with rich mana and it tastes great.Xasha spent 10 days dissecting and the butchering all the energy beast corpses, in that time he learned so much that he didn't know before that he wished he had another 2 thousand energy beast corpses to study.
Xara took off sprinting towards her son. Seeing this, Xasha got so scared that he almost started running in the opposite direction. Before he could even think to move Xara was already in front of him with the Storm Caller already in her hands. She was looking at the blade as if it was a newborn baby and she would never let it go."What is this? How did you do this? Are these runes here? And they are so Intricate too, and so small. How did you draw runes so small? Why are the lines so thin? What did you use?" She was inspecting every inch.
The Draconic Cobra King was much bigger and stronger than the Red Dragon Snake, with Mature Draconic Cobra Kings being well over one hundred meters long. The blade Xasha and Xara made was from one of its 10ft long fangs, that they then cut in half. The teeth weren't the strongest alloy on the cobra's body, but Xasha chose it because it was like the Murder Hornet's stinger. Holes in it were a tiny being about the point of an unsharpened pencil. They were three holes in total and like the hornet's stinger it prevents mana leakage and it was completely flame resistant.
Xasha was a prince. Technically, he's the king's younger brother's great-grandson. His mother had relinquished her title as a princess and married Xasha's father before he was born. So it is more accurate to say that Xasha had royal blood in him, but he was not a prince.Xasha was dreading his meeting with the king because he knew what it meant. A soul contract. The king knew of Xasha's talent and he also knew of the magic compression techniques that he developed.
"Lili oh my little how beautiful you are, my Lili oh my Lili you are shining like a star..." the sounds of laughter bouncing off the walls filled the room. "Hey, you've never sung to me before," Ari complained as she walked into the room. Xasha looked at her and froze. She was wearing a golden gown with pearls and frills all over, her hair was beautifully done, by Lisa no doubt and her face painted.
Footsteps, murmurs, and the occasional rumble of thunder were the only sounds on a once chaotic battlefield. Every member of the Stardust Army under the peak of the platinum realm joined the beastmen in retreating behind the forcefield. The shockwaves alone from mages that powerful could kill them in a second. "Oh?" Verra said with an intricate expression. "Come then, let's see if you are any better than that lady elf I killed a few days ago."
The air particles whipped around in a circle, culminating and concentrating above the head of the long green hair of a young man. Quietly seated on the hard, heavily scarred ground in a meditative state.A dozen pair of tearful eyes stared at the man from the gallery of the training arena. Verra wiped the tears from her brown cheeks, "I can only imagine. Creating an energy beast spirit with the mana he attracts while he's meditating, that boy truly is extraordinary," she smiled through her sadness.
No less than 30 tribes were ambushed and annihilated using this tactic. The beastmen horde, as predicted, no longer took the bait and avoided the forcefield like the plague. Regardless of the obvious openings or how ruthless the taunts became.Ari looked on from her position in the control room, "I want to know how they are communicating.""Maybe they're not communicating, our little trick was very simple. Those who aren't as overconfident and emotionally unstable will never fall for such a thing," Dana pointed out.Ari gnashed her teeth, "tell raid team A to C to prepare for guerilla tactics. I will see if this was coordinated or coincidence."Boman heard the order and gave a shrewd smile. He gave the signal to his team and as soon as he did, his team who were fighting hard while defending gradually showed signs of losing out. The beastmen gained more confidence and increased their pace of attacks. However, as the raid team pulled back, they did not seem as eager to pursue them.Boman
Cherry woke up in a room with pink walls. Through the glass, she could see men and women in pink lab coats running back and forth. The uniform helped her understand exactly where she was. A tall, heavyset lady with short pink hair walked into the room with a clipboard in her hand. Cherry knew this woman and felt relieved that it was a friend taking care of her. She tried to sit upon the pink stone table she was on, her body was exposed as the pink sheep rolled down from her body. Her bodysuit was cut open and pink bandages were on her legs, arms, and abdomen. The moment she moved, all those places lit up with pain,
The night sky lit up in a myriad of colors, children in their homes were looking at the pretty lights from their windows with amused faces. Not much had changed in Stardust City, nobody even considered for a second that Stardust City would ever be destroyed by an enemy. The streets were full and the nightlife bustling as young people frequented bars, restaurants, and other entertainment venues. In contrast, outside the Six Star Mountain was pure chaos as blood and fire rained down from the sky.It was absolute pandemonium as mages and energy beast fell like autumn leaves, "Burn... Burn, Liu, Burn is down, cover me,
Xasha stood on the water's surface inside the oasis. He waved his hands, moved his body, and changed his stance as he flowed with the wind. His eyes were blindfolded the entire time, but he moved as if he could see. His movements were not random, instead, he was dodging a barrage of air needles being fired off by a naked lady beside the lake.He had been at it for days at a time, relying on his breathing technique and mana control to sense the attacks coming at him. The fact that he was covered in blood and his clothes could b
Over the past 6 months, Verra Green had become one of the most famous mages in history. Everyone knew her name and likeness because In every square of every city was a statue of her In her defensive pose with her gauntlets up ready to protect those she loved. Beside her statue was an obelisk detailing who she was and all her achievements. At the bottom of the obelisk, it stated, "It is unknown whether Verra Green is dead or Alive, but anyone with information that leads to the recovery of her corpse or her returning alive and well to her family will receive 500 billion Libra."
Electric blue hair flowed with the wind as an airship sped through the sky on its way to Stardust City. At Xasha's usual spot stood Xander and his wife, Davene, looking out at the passing sky. Being this high above the clouds, being this far from home was a first for them, "Xasha really has changed this continent, hasn't he?""What do you mean?" Davene asked."Look at us, thousands of miles high in the sky, traveling millions o
