Laura’s POV

He acted weird as he left, what happened to him, it was like he was in deep thought, and then he went blank. I kept on thinking about what he told me, I can choose not to believe him but there is something that is telling to me believe him, I saw the truth in his eyes, and the way Nelly behaved today made me question her truth a lot, she looked like she wanted to protect Hunter which was weird, why would you want to protect your abuser.

I sat by the edge of my bed, different thoughts running through my mind, when I heard a knock on my door, I stood and opened it, it was mom.

“Hey, I heard noises.” She said to me.

“I was just on the phone.” I lied, and she hummed.

“Good night mom,” I said.

When I got home today, Mom had a friend over which I thought was weird because she never makes friends but anyways she had a friend over, but the woman she said was her friend acted strangely and very weird, she kept staring at me throughout, and when Mom asked me to join them for lunc
