Chapter Thirty-Eight

If Steven wasn't so angry at Marie, he would have teased her mercilessly at the way she had looked at his bare chest a few minutes ago. He had no idea why his pulse had quickened at the look of awe on her face. But all that was before she opened her mouth and suddenly had opinions about his life. Where did she get off telling me what to do and think about his father? Maybe his father wasn't always available but he was at least in his life, which was more than he could say for the parents that had abandoned her.
