“Steven, don't open it. Do not open it.”

“Marie, calm down. It's not what you think it is.”

She sighed, relieved that he wasn't about to repropose, if there was any word like that.

He opened the box to reveal an exquisite set of silver earrings, chain and a bracelet that shimmered so wonderfully. The chain had a pendant engraved with her name on it.

“You know I thought about engraving my name on it, but I didn't want you to think I'm vain.”

“This is so beautiful, Steven. I don't know what to say.”

“Say you like and you’ll wear it and one of my shirts tonight.”

“Steven King!” She half-yelled.

“You did say, you didn't know what to say. I was just helping out.”
