Her heart was broken, her mind restless, she was scared now that her sister died, she couldn't come face to face with her for the past seven years, and now, she died. She wasn't able to plead for forgiveness now her sister died. She wasn't able to tell her sister how sorry she really is.
She killed her sister, she gripped the bedcover, still laughing with Amaya but the guilt in her heart was killing her. As she smiled at her son she knew just how much going to India for her sister's burial was not possible.
"Aunt, Aunt" Amaya called her. Only then did she erupted from her thoughts.
"Yes Amaya" She smiled at her.
"You don't have to smile, you just lost your sister, with how you've always been trying to know how she is I'm very sure you loved her so much. Cry all you want to, and if you want to shout, you can, we are here for you." She placed her hand on Vedika's.
"I don't think I can come to India." Vedika gripped her dress and tears rolled down her cheeks. She was devastated. "Rohit" She called on him because he was dead quiet. "Yes Aunt. I can hear you ma." Rohit voice became low, and Vedika noticed. She hated herself for not being able to tell him. She didn't wanted to loose him, they shared a good bond and Rohit was just like her own son. "I'm so sorry, some day you will thank me for me." She bursted into tears. She knew he wouldn't understood but deep down, if Rohit ever gets to know what had happened, she bet he would be grateful to her for not coming to his mother's burial The thought made Vedika angry, she never thought of all the complications before she betrayed her sister, her heart was in terrible pains and she kept tapping it. Then she hung up and didn't know what to do. She l
Vedika instantly became pissed off by the sight of Ben, she never expected Amaya father would want them back together. But before jumping in to conclusions, she walked down the stairs maybe, just maybe they were here for something else. As she approached she smiled at Amaya's father. "Mr Micheal." She greeted with a pleasant smile and they hugged. "How are you miss Vedika. I'm sorry I've not been coming to check on you guys." He pleaded. "There is no issue with that. You came with a guest." Vedika rolled her eyes at Ben. "Good morning Aunt." Ben greeted despite the malicious gaze of Vedika's. "Well, you aren't welcome." Vedika bluntly replied. Ben gulp his saliva and sat on the couch. He was stealing glances at Vedika It was the first time he met Vedika in person, He only knew about her. Seeing her right now made him uncomfor
Seeing the way Ben started shaking made Vedika excited, then a message popped in her phone and took it and saw it was a message from her mother. She instantly became sober and opened the message. "If you don't come here to your sisters wake, then I will have to come and drag you here." Tears rolled down her cheeks then she wiped it off instantly. She looked at Ben and ignored him. She was totally broken. She stood up and walked straight to her bedroom then she shut the door behind her. Amaya who's door was wide opened could swear she saw Vedika ran into her room. "What are you staring at?" Her father questioned her. "Dad, I won't get back together with Ben I won't." She rejected his plea. "Bit my child, why don't you get settled down, I need you to be settled so I can stop worrying about you." He kept on pleading with her.
Not much of his concern, bit Mr Micheal was just curious to know the reason behind Vedika's reason to be absent from her sister's wedding. He knocked on her door, and when she opened it, he could tell she had been crying. "What's wrong Vedika?" He asked her. He never liked to see Vedika crying, he hated it. He loved her so much but could never ever confessed his feelings for her. How could he fall for his wife's friend, so instead of confessing his feelings all these years he stayed away. He didn't want to disrespect his wife like that. His cheating almost ruined his relationship, but before his wife's death they had many happy memories together. He stopped cheating way before his wife died, and after her death he pledge his life to finding a suitable business man for his daughter. Vedika's beautiful eyes and long hair was the prettiest sight he had seen so far. He hadn't had much opportunity to
"You have to leave Micheal" Vedika said and turned her face sideways. She wanted nothing to do with him. Her respect for her late friend wouldn't even let her loose herself even though it wasn't wrong. "Sincerely you don't want this?" Micheal asked her, he squinted his eyes and leaned towards her much more closer trying to steal another kiss. But he was shocked when he saw that she pushed him away. "I'm really serious, you shouldn't be doing this, I'm your wife best friend." She questioned his morality. "My wife is dead. She've been dead for five years sincerely, this isn't a sin, we are adult so just be fine with it already. We ain't doing anything wrong." He screamed. She wasn't going to give in, not because she hated him or for morality sake, her heart was already stolen by her forbidden lover, giving in to Mr Micheal was not something she could do, except she do it without any emoti
As she walked downstairs, the sight of Ben infuriated her, she kept glaring at him till she got to his front. "What are you still doing here?" She glared at him "What do you mean by that, I've come here for you." Ben stood up and walked towards her. She scoffed nodding her head and fixed her gaze on him "You didn't come here for me, you fool, you came here for your ego." She cursed him. "Don't say than Ama, you know I love you so much." He held her hand but she shoved it off. "Don't you dare touch me." She squinted her eyes. "Where were you when I left Nigeria, if you were here for me, you'd be here like few months ago." She turned to walk away. But she felt his arms round her, he hugged her from behind. Amaya couldn't bring herself to contain the rage she was feeling, he didn't had any right to touch her, or even hug her. She was m
"Ben" Mr Micheal called out to him then he fixed his gaze on his daughter. "Why are you standing so far off my darling?" He stretched his hand towards her to tell her to come over. Without objecting Amaya walked towards her dad. "Hey dad, I'm sorry, I want to go upstairs." Amaya set to walk away but was held back by her dad. "Amaya, I want you to know, in life, sometimes we have to put up with things we don't like, it's just for our future, later you will thank me for this." He joined her hand together with Ben. "You guys are engaged again." He smiled as he stared at Amaya. Amaya couldn't believe her eyes, he father just forced her into Ben's hand. How her own father do this to her. Tears rolled down her cheeks, she tried to free herself from his grip but he held on tighter. "You guys need to talk more. Amaya you could start the discussion wi
She stood there looking at Vedika waiting for an explanation but Vedika only walked towards her and collected the earring. "What do you want to hear?" She asked Amaya. "Anything like the truth. What's going on between both of you." She said snickering. "There is nothing going on between me and your dad."Vedika insisted. "Seriously, you mean you ain't going to be my step mother, my mother actually not step mother." Amaya closed her palm holding on to her father's watch. "I thought there for a second that you two actually like each other." Amaya kicked her lips "Seriously, you want your father and I to be a couple?" Vedika asked. "Yes, why not. You would make a good wife, you are already a good mother to me and Samir. I really love you a lot aunt." Amaya pleaded. Vedika couldn't believe what Amaya was
