Chapter Three: Responsibility
Samantha's POV
I covered my lips and yawned when I woke up in the morning. What happened last night? Oh, last night? I quickly looked around to see where I was. My eyes widened when I felt like my body was being torn apart. And I felt pain down there.
“Shit!” I gasp when I feel someone’s hand placed on my stomach. Then I realized what happened last night. This can’t be serious. I end up spending the night with a stranger. Did I completely lose my mind last night? My mother will surely kill me.
I slowly removed his hand while looking at his face. He's attractive even when he's asleep. Damn it, Sam! You still have time to think about that after you gave your virginity to this handsome guy. Well, at least he’s handsome.
I got out of bed and hurriedly put on my dress, even if my body hurt. I got my purse and was about to leave when I saw his wallet fall. It makes me a little curious. Maybe I can find something about his identity. I slowly picked it up. As I opened it, I saw his ID.
“Diego Zayn Presley? “I read his name. He has an awesome name, too. And hold on… what?
“What the fuck!? He's 31 years old?” I covered my mouth. Did I just fuck with 31 years old man?
He suddenly moved, which made me hurriedly leave the room. I quickly went out of that freaking hotel and called for a taxi. Shit! I just made up with that guy. But who cares Sam? At least he’s someone worthy of bed, unlike your ex. My conscience said.
Yeah, right. I was busy fixing my hair when my phone rang. Damn it! I'm dead.
“Nita, don't tell Mother that I haven't arrived, or else I’m dead,” I said before Nita could talk. Nita is our maid. She's in her 40’s.
“Ma'am Sam, you have to hurry before your mother finds out that you're not here,” She said in her scared voice, which made me laugh.
“I'm on my way. Don't worry. I'll be there before she knows,” I told her before hanging up the phone. I arrived at the house and went through the backdoor, where Nita was waiting for me.
“You're making me scared. Go to your house and take a shower. They are waiting for you in the dining area,” she said, which made me hurriedly go to my room.
After taking a quick shower, I went to the room and saw my mother with her furrowed eyebrows.
“Hey, Mom, good morning,” I kissed her on the cheeks and sat on the chair while Nita was serving me food.
“Hmm, this is delicious,” I uttered while chewing the food.
“What’s with your behavior, Sam?” My Mom asked me, but I just kept on chewing.
“I don't know what is wrong with you. You keep on escaping at night,” she started. I acted like I didn't know what she was talking about.
I look at Nita and look down when Mom looks at her.
“Mom, I'm here last night.” I lied and drank water.
“Stop lying, Samantha.” Here she goes. She's mad now, calling me by my name.
“Where were you last night? And who’s this guy?” My forehead furrowed. Mom showed me pictures of me and that guy last night. What's his name again? Diego! Right, it's Diego.
I chuckled nervously and got those photos from the table.
“Mom, he's just a friend. Afterward, I went to the bar. I go home early,” I told her. She held her forehead problematic. I started with the picture, and he's actually tall.
“Not bad, so handsome.” I zipped my mouth. I thought I was just talking in my mind.
“What?!” Mom looked at me. I just shook my head.
“Don't ever escape again, Sam. I have eyes on you. Stop messing around. You’re not allowed to engage on—”
“Come on, mom. Please don’t be too hard on me. I’m your only daughter,” I cut her off. She let out a sigh, “That’s the reason why I don’t want you to go outside late at night. It’s too dangerous,” I know she’s just worried about me. It makes me feel guiltier.
“I’m fine, Mom. I can take care of myself.” She nodded, “Okay. I trust you. Finished your breakfast,” she said before leaving. I chuckled, staring at the picture.
“Lucky guy.” Well, it's better that he gets my purity than that ugly, Andrew. I grabbed my phone and searched for his name on the internet.
Hmm, so he owned a big company, huh?” I murmured, scrolling more, trying to find more information.
“Nita, I'll go outside to do something important. Tell Mom that if she’s looking for me, she should call me instead of asking you,” I said. She hadn't spoken when I stood up and got my bag.
I went back to my room and changed clothes. I wore a white dress and heels. I just put on light makeup, and I'm ready.
While I was inside the car, I couldn't stop but look at the image. I'm glad mom didn't get it from me.
I arrived at the said company. I grabbed my folder and walked inside. Someone is looking at me, and I find this man wearing eyeglasses with her mouth half open. Another target, maybe I could use him to find his office.
“Hi. Do you know where Diego is?” I asked him.
“Diego?” he was confused. I gave her my sweetest smile and winked at him.
“It’s Diego Zayn Presley. He owned this company, right?” I told him, which made him nod.
“He's in his office Miss. Do you have an appointment?” He asked me, which made me bite my lip. I placed my hand on his shoulder.
“I don't. But I'm his niece.” I winked at him, which made him stare at me. He held my hand, but I got it back. My hand is already reserved for my man.
“This way, Miss,” he said. I just followed him. He’s showing my way to my future husband.
“This is his office Miss-”
“Sam, call me Sam,” I smiled at him. He was about to speak, but I opened the door and closed it. I don’t want to talk to anyone aside from him.
I smiled widely when I saw him sitting on his swivel chair while looking at his laptop. He looks like those cold, yet handsome CEO.
“Hi,” I waved my hand and placed my folder on his table. He looked at me with the same expression he wore last night. A lot of coldness. Is this how he will treat me?
“How did you find me?” he asked, raising an eyebrow. Ow, he doesn’t want to see me here. I seductively smiled and sat above his table.
“You have to take responsibility for me,” I said and looked at him. He rested his back on his swivel chair. He problematically messed up his hair.
“Listen, kid-” I rolled my eyes and went on his back.
“Stop calling me kid. Call me baby instead,” I whispered in his ears softly.
“Samantha Henderson.” I was shocked when he uttered my name. How did he know me? Hmm, interesting.
“How did you know?” I asked even though I knew the answer. I’m pretty famous on or outside the university campus. I smiled widely but it slowly faded because of the next thing he said.
“I saw your card,” he said. I fake a cough. So full of me to think that’s the reason why he knew me. Famous, my ass.
“Just like what I am saying, you should take responsibility for me. You take my purity, and that was last night, in case you forgot about it,” I told him. He crossed his arms and coldly stared at me. Oh, so cold. I feel like I am in Antarctica.
“And what makes you think that I will do that?” He asked. Ugh, how rude. Oh, wait, is he married? That’s why he can’t take any responsibility? I sat on the chair. Duh, I won’t give up. This man is mine now. He won’t sleep with some random girl when he’s married, right?
“Are you a man? You just slept with me, and you must take responsibility for what you did,” I said, looking straight into his eyes.
“My family won't let go of someone who takes my purity,” I threatened him. I could use those words to blackmail him so he couldn't say no. He only stared at me like he was thinking.
I stood up and started to roam around his office, and the design was actually good.
“Good taste,” I said. Oh, wait, I need to show him the photos. I went back to the table and showed him our pictures last night.
He got those pictures and started looking at them. His forehead furrowed. That’s unexpected, right?
He has this athletic body, those tempting lips, attractive eyes. He doesn't look 31 years old. He looks younger than that.
“What do you think, Diego?” he glared at me. I chuckled because of his reaction. “Alright, if you don’t want me to call you Diego, what about oldie? Grandpa?” His glare intensified. I laughed hard.
“I’ll just call you Zayn, then?” He didn’t speak. He looked at those photos again. “You don’t have to think too much.” He looked straight at me again. He chuckled, “You're interesting,”
He stood up and walked towards me. He then leaned to fix my hair. I closed my eyes, thinking that he was about to kiss me, but I waited for a second and opened my eyes. He was just staring at me. I gulp because of the way he stares. He's freaking gorgeous!
Chapter Four: ShowSamantha's POVI was like a freaking crazy while staring at his picture. He is filthy rich and indeed handsome.“You seemed so happy,” Nita said while she was serving me coffee. I couldn't stop but smile while biting my finger.“Do you find this attractive, Nita?” I asked her while showing her Diego’s half-naked photo. Her eyes widened when she saw it. I laughed at her reaction.“Ma'am Sam, where did you get that picture? That's inappropriate. But yes, he's handsome,” she said, but I shook my head. It's actually yummy. I mean, he's damn hot and spicy.I smiled broadly. I've been waiting for his message. It's Harold, the one I met in Diego's company. After I left his company, I made sure to get his secretary’s assistant’s number.I just used my charm to get what I wanted. He's actually easy to fool. I will not miss the chance to stalk Diego. He'll be mine, after all.“Miss Sam, he's going for a jog,” he sent a message. Through Harold, I can easily find out where Die
Chapter Five: Hot UncleSamantha's POVI smiled broadly as I bit my lower lips to stop myself from giggling. I can't believe I just made him agree. Well, that's me, Samantha, the girl who can get whatever I want. Diego is no exemption. That handsome, hot uncle.I set our meeting today. I just wore my simple yet elegant dress to impress him even more. Well, little did I know that he's already impressed. He's just hiding it. He’s good at masking his true emotions.Who would not? I could easily get what I wanted. I am waiting for him in this restaurant, and he is two minutes late now. I just hate it when people make me wait. But since it's him, I'll consider it.I tapped the table while waiting for him patiently. He didn't want to meet us today, but of course, I pulled some strings. And he couldn’t say no. But damn, waiting makes me feel eternity. I frowned as I looked around.“Where the hell is he?” I murmured to myself. I zipped my coffee while staring outside the restaurant. My phone
Chapter Six: She's Mad Samantha's POV I bit my lower lips while looking at my mother worriedly. I know this will happen. “What?! You're still studying Sam!” My mother's voice echoed in my ears. She's screaming angrily. Damn, she's overreacting for real. I just told her that my boyfriend will come here tonight. And she was like, What?! You're too young for that! I secretly rolled my eyes. She was younger than me when she got pregnant. . “Mom, I'm already mature. Besides, he's handsome and freaking rich. “ I told her, trying to convince her. There's no way I wouldn't convince her right now. “We're rich too. Sam. Boyfriend? There's no way on earth I will let you bring that man here.” She objected to my decision. “But Mom, he's matured. Believe me, if I say so," I said and placed the pillow on my lap. I grabbed the chocolate and started eating it. She looked at me with wide eyes. “Sam, I told you. You're not allowed to have a boyfriend," she said, but I shook my head. Her
Chapter 7: Meeting the In-Laws Samantha's POVMy hands were sweating as I looked at my dad nervously. My father was staring at me. Damn! He looks like he's ready to throw me out of the house.“Did I hear your mother right?” he asked in his serious voice. I slowly nodded at him and lowered my head. For sure, I will hear another preaching from him.“Dad, Mom, what can I do? I love him,” I said. Dad let out a heavy sigh as he looked at me.They were both discussing it in Dad's office when he got home. I could barely hear them arguing earlier.“What time will he come?” Dad asked. I looked at him and bit my lips to stop myself from smiling.“Tonight. He will be joining us for dinner,” I told Dad. He nodded at me and looked at Mom, but she just furrowed her eyebrows.“That's all, Philip? You're not going to talk to her about the mess she made?” Mom said incredulously. She was like pushing Dad to talk to me. Damn, I don't want to hear any more words.“Sam, I hope you know what you're doing,
Chapter 8: Moving In Samantha's POV “Are you sure about this?” Mom asked me while she was sitting on my bed. I glanced at her while I was busy packing my things. “Mom, I know things went so fast. But I'm grown up now. I'm not a baby anymore,” I told her. I sat beside her. She fixed the strands of my hair. “I'm sorry for yelling at you. It's just that- I love you. It's hard to see you packing your things and living under another roof,” she said. I understand her; they treated us like princesses. “Mom, I'm not going to another planet. I'm just a little bit far from you and Dad, but I'll be visiting you always.” I chuckled. She sighed. “Just come back here if things don't go well, okay? The door is always open for you.” I nodded at her and continued fixing my stuff. “Isn’t he handsome?” I asked her while smiling broadly, thinking about Diego. “Yes, but-” The door opened, and it was Dad and Diego. I was also done packing my things. “Are you done?” he asked me with his sweet voice
Chapter 9: Wedding Preparations Samantha's POV“What do you think about this?” I asked him, showing him the wedding ring. He was just looking at it when I kicked his feet under the table. He glared at me, but I furrowed my eyebrows.“Ma'am, we only have one pair of rings. It's actually a perfect fit for you,” the sales lady said. I found it cute; I don't care if it's expensive.“This one, I want this,” I showed him my ring finger excitedly. I intentionally pouted. He just nodded.“Aren't you happy?” I acted like I was crying while wiping the side of my eyes. It made him hold my hand immediately.“Of course, it's perfect. Sorry about my fiancée,” he told the sales lady. She chuckled while looking at us. I placed my hand on his chest.“You two really look good together. Wishing you a successful wedding, Ma'am and Sir,” she said. I gave her back the wedding ring. I glanced at Diego. He was smiling at the sales lady, but when he glanced at me, he glared. What the?The sales lady stood up
Chapter 10: Learning To CookSamantha's POVI felt satisfied leaving that wedding gown boutique yesterday. I couldn't stop snickering while thinking about Tiffany's face.I still couldn't forget their betrayal—how I treated that bitch like my own flesh, only for her to use me to get closer to that cheater, Andrew. It's been days since that happened, but when I see their faces, it's like it only happened yesterday.“When will we meet again?” I asked myself while sitting on Diego's swivel chair. I could see the shock on their faces. Well, it's not bad, thanks to him playing along.I stood up when my tummy growled. I'm hungry. I woke up, and he was already out. I hadn't eaten breakfast, so I decided to go to the kitchen to look for food.“Seriously? Vegetables?” I couldn't believe it. I'm not picky, but I am not a fan of vegetables, especially when I'm not in the mood.I just grabbed the egg and bacon from the fridge. I suddenly stopped when I remembered I actually didn't know how to coo
Chapter 11: Entangled FatesDiego’s POVI was too drunk at that time. Damn it. I just really thought that Sam was Jasmine. I was in the middle of drinking that night in the bar when someone suddenly entered. She was wearing the same dress that Jasmine had.A very talkative woman. I wasn't expecting that I would do such things. It had been a year since I last did that. I was drowned by pleasure and lust.I thought she was Jasmine. All I could think about that night in the darkroom was her. But it was not Jasmine. I was too drunk that night to realize she was in pain. When I did that thing, I knew it was not her. It was another woman.I was so stupid to continue. I was so lost. I just committed mistakes. That morning, when I woke up in an unfamiliar room, she had already left, but her bloodstains were still there, symbolizing that I was the one who took her purity.I thought it would be only a one-night
Epilogue Diego's POV I smiled while staring at my wife. She's really gorgeous. It's funny how I ended up with her—this silly girl who brought color to my life. The girl who is always irritating me, messing with me. I love her so much. I love her more than myself. I'm willing to give everything for her. I knew from the very beginning that she was just playing, the way she teased me, stared at me, and forced me to do things. How she tried to seduce me was just part of the contract. I remember how she forced me to marry her at the park. I thought she was just having fun that day, but I was wrong. She's the only woman who has ever done all those things to me. As the days passed, I started to fall for her silliness. I acted like I didn’t care, but the truth was, I was slowly falling for her. That day when we went abroad for our honeymoon, I enjoyed her company. She was so sweet and cheerful, full of energy in a way not many people are. I couldn't help but smile as she forced m
Finale Samantha's POV The sound of gunfire echoed through the old buildings. Everyone became alert. I started to feel nervous. "Get all the guns that we have!" Mr. Wedge shouted to his allies. Leo began distributing the guns to the others. "Watch her," Mr. Wedge said, glancing at me. Tiffany grabbed the gun that Mr. Wedge handed to her. She pointed it at me while the war outside the building raged on. "Please, just let me go," I pleaded with Tiffany, but she didn’t listen. "Shut up! This is all because of you!" she snapped, pointing the gun directly at me. I shook my head in denial. "Remove the leash from her hands and feet, Windy," Tiffany ordered. Windy immediately did as she was told. "Get that knife and point it at her neck!" she added, and Windy obeyed. I looked at Windy, and I could see she was just being forced to do it. "No, please, Windy. I'm begging you," I said, crying. "You want to beg? Then kneel!" Tiffany screamed at me. "Get the guns! The police are here!" I h
Chapter Two Hundred Four: Kidnapped Samantha's POV I breathe heavily, panic tightening around me. Something covers my head, making it hard to see or breathe. Fear grips me as I realize my hands and feet are tied to a chair. "Help!" I scream, struggling to move. A voice, familiar but chilling, responds. "She's awake." It's Leo. I know it's him. "Where am I? Let me go, Leo!" I shout, my voice cracking from fear. "Remove her blindfold," a monotone voice commands. My heart skips a beat. It’s Mr. Wedge. They pull off whatever was covering my head, and though my vision is blurry, I see Leo holding a gun, talking to Tiffany. I blink, trying to make sense of the situation. “The princess is awake,” Tiffany says as she walks toward me, gripping my chin. I glare at her, trying to mask my terror. I’m not just scared for myself but for the baby growing inside me. "Why am I here?" I ask, trying to stay calm. She laughs coldly, mocking me, and my gaze shifts to Mr. Wedge, who’s watc
Chapter Two Hundred Three: Stay Alert Samantha's POV We’re at Diego’s office, and I’m surprised to see my brother, Louis, here, along with his wife, Leilani, and their daughter, Anya. Mrs. Bianca is also here, and everyone is drinking and eating. Diego is sitting beside me, holding my hand. We’re celebrating my pregnancy, and I have no idea what made Diego invite everyone over so suddenly. “Congratulations to both of you,” Mrs. Bianca says, raising her glass. Ray and Elisha are also here, joining in the celebration. “Thank you,” I smile, feeling a bit overwhelmed. Anya is happily playing with the new toy Diego bought her. “Congratulations, sis, and to you too, Diego,” Louis says, giving me a tight hug. “I’m so happy for you,” Leilani adds, embracing me warmly, and then congratulates Diego as well. “Congrats, Sam,” Elisha says, hugging me before giggling. “Congratulations, Sam,” Ray joins in, and as he hugs me, I can’t help but sniff him, then glare at him playfully.
Chapter Two Hundred Two: Happiness Samantha's POV We were busy with our work at the library. Anna and Jane sat with me, but all I could focus on was eating. It seemed like that’s all my body wanted these days. "Sam, no offense, but you've been eating the same thing every day. We’ve noticed," Anna commented, making me pause mid-bite and glance at the food in my hand. She was right, but I couldn’t help it. "And you're not even gaining weight. That's the strange part," Jane added. "Do you think it's a problem? I just can’t stop," I said, leaning back in my chair. Technically, eating wasn’t allowed in the library, but I couldn’t resist. "I thought you hated those foods? Remember when we tried to get you to eat strawberries? You wouldn’t even touch them," Anna said. I remembered that. But people change. "Girl, stand up for a second," Jane said suddenly. I stood, confused. "Face the wall." I bit my bottom lip, feeling their eyes on me. "Damn," Jane muttered. I sat back
Chapter Two Hundred One: Pregnant Diego's POV Damn it! That old man is really pushing my buttons. Luckily, I got there on time, or else he would have hurt Samantha. I know he already has an idea of what we are up to. Even though he tried to hide it, I could see how furious he was. Samantha still hasn’t spoken to me since then. I regret shouting at her. I got carried away by my emotions. I hated the way Mr. Wedge looked at her, especially when his gaze shifted down to her belly. He seems to know something. Yes, Samantha is pregnant. That's why I don’t want to stress her out. I’ve been planning to tell her about what’s going on, but I hesitate when I see her acting differently. I know she’s pregnant, and I know she’s confused too. "But Mom and Dad never mentioned that to me! Damn that Wedge," Louis said. We’re in my office right now. He flew in as soon as he found out what was happening. He and his family are staying at Mr. and Mrs. Henderson’s house for the time being. H
Chapter Two Hundred: Won't Let Anyone Hurt You Samatha's POV He was about to slap him when I shouted. It made them both look at me. Jane tried to hold my hand, but I continued walking towards them. "And who do you think you are to shout at me like that?" he yelled at me. I glared at him. He was wearing a decent suit, but he couldn't even act in a decent way. "Sam," Anna said as she held my hand. But my gaze was fixed on Windy. She had bruises on her hand. "I don't care who you are!" I snapped at him. He let go of Windy, who shook her head at me. He chuckled sarcastically while looking at me. "I think I already know you," he said, walking closer. I took a step back. "Call him," I heard Jane tell Anna. She was now frantically searching for her phone in her bag. "How could you hurt someone like her?" I asked him. He stopped in his tracks and looked at Windy, who immediately lowered her head. "That's none of your business, Mrs. Presley," he said, which shocked me. "How
Chapter One Hundred Ninety-Nine: Stop Samantha's POV I looked at the calendar, my forehead knotted, while Diego was busy on his laptop. We were actually in his office right now with Elisha, Ray, Harold, and Jana. “That’s not what actually happened,” Jana said, glaring at Harold. They had been arguing for a while. “Then tell me,” Harold said. I held my head as I started to feel a bit dizzy. “Are you alright?” Diego asked, standing up and carefully guiding me to sit on the couch. “I'm just dizzy, but I’m fine,” I smiled at him, noticing the others looking at me. “What’s the matter?” I asked them. They quickly returned to what they were doing. “Just sit there,” Diego said as he went to the table to get me a glass of water. He handed it to me, and I drank it. “Feeling better now?” he asked. I nodded my head. They went back to their discussion. I still didn’t know why he asked me to be here. I had t
Chapter One Hundred Ninety-Eight: Sad Thoughts Samantha's POV Windy is definitely being duped by Tiffany. I can't believe it. “We have to talk,” I said, holding her hand and making her look at me. She stopped walking. “What's the matter?” I asked her. She suddenly removed my hand and looked at me. “There's nothing to talk about,” she said with expressionless eyes. I sighed and furrowed my brow. “No, we have to talk, Windy. What happened to you? You weren't like this before. Is it because Tiffany is the one paying for your tuition? Is that why you are avoiding us? Did she threaten you?” I asked. She just looked at me. “I don't have to explain myself to you, Samantha. We're over,” she uttered. I shook my head, biting my lower lip to stop myself from crying. She’s my friend; we have so many memories together. “No, we're not. We promised to stay with each other. We promised that, Windy. How could you say such thing
