Chapter 7: Meeting the In-Laws

Samantha's POV

My hands were sweating as I looked at my dad nervously. My father was staring at me. Damn! He looks like he's ready to throw me out of the house.

“Did I hear your mother right?” he asked in his serious voice. I slowly nodded at him and lowered my head. For sure, I will hear another preaching from him.

“Dad, Mom, what can I do? I love him,” I said. Dad let out a heavy sigh as he looked at me.

They were both discussing it in Dad's office when he got home. I could barely hear them arguing earlier.

“What time will he come?” Dad asked. I looked at him and bit my lips to stop myself from smiling.

“Tonight. He will be joining us for dinner,” I told Dad. He nodded at me and looked at Mom, but she just furrowed her eyebrows.

“That's all, Philip? You're not going to talk to her about the mess she made?” Mom said incredulously. She was like pushing Dad to talk to me. Damn, I don't want to hear any more words.

“Sam, I hope you know what you're doing,

But I'm grown up now. I'm not a baby anymore,” I told her. I sat beside her. She fixed the strands of my hair. “I'm sorry for yelling at you. It's just that- I love you. It's hard to see you packing your things and living under another roof,” she said. I understand her; they treated us like princesses. “Mom, I'm not going to another planet. I'm just a little bit far from you and Dad, but I'll be visiting you always.” I chuckled. She sighed. “Just come back here if things don't go well, okay? The door is always open for you.” I nodded at her and continued fixing my stuff. “Isn’t he handsome?” I asked her while smiling broadly, thinking about Diego. “Yes, but-” The door opened, and it was Dad and Diego. I was also done packing my things. “Are you done?” he asked me with his sweet voice

He glared at me, but I furrowed my eyebrows.“Ma'am, we only have one pair of rings. It's actually a perfect fit for you,” the sales lady said. I found it cute; I don't care if it's expensive.“This one, I want this,” I showed him my ring finger excitedly. I intentionally pouted. He just nodded.“Aren't you happy?” I acted like I was crying while wiping the side of my eyes. It made him hold my hand immediately.“Of course, it's perfect. Sorry about my fiancée,” he told the sales lady. She chuckled while looking at us. I placed my hand on his chest.“You two really look good together. Wishing you a successful wedding, Ma'am and Sir,” she said. I gave her back the wedding ring. I glanced at Diego. He was smiling at the sales lady, but when he glanced at me, he glared. What the?The sales lady stood up

Chapter 10: Learning To CookSamantha's POVI felt satisfied leaving that wedding gown boutique yesterday. I couldn't stop snickering while thinking about Tiffany's face.I still couldn't forget their betrayal—how I treated that bitch like my own flesh, only for her to use me to get closer to that cheater, Andrew. It's been days since that happened, but when I see their faces, it's like it only happened yesterday.“When will we meet again?” I asked myself while sitting on Diego's swivel chair. I could see the shock on their faces. Well, it's not bad, thanks to him playing along.I stood up when my tummy growled. I'm hungry. I woke up, and he was already out. I hadn't eaten breakfast, so I decided to go to the kitchen to look for food.“Seriously? Vegetables?” I couldn't believe it. I'm not picky, but I am not a fan of vegetables, especially when I'm not in the mood.I just grabbed the egg and bacon from the fridge. I suddenly stopped when I remembered I actually didn't know how to coo

I was in the middle of drinking that night in the bar when someone suddenly entered. She was wearing the same dress that Jasmine had.A very talkative woman. I wasn't expecting that I would do such things. It had been a year since I last did that. I was drowned by pleasure and lust.I thought she was Jasmine. All I could think about that night in the darkroom was her. But it was not Jasmine. I was too drunk that night to realize she was in pain. When I did that thing, I knew it was not her. It was another woman.I was so stupid to continue. I was so lost. I just committed mistakes. That morning, when I woke up in an unfamiliar room, she had already left, but her bloodstains were still there, symbolizing that I was the one who took her purity.I thought it would be only a one-night

Chapter 12: Dinner Talk Samantha's POV We're having dinner tonight. I was the one who insisted on eating in a restaurant since Diego, the Oldie, had no plan of taking me out. He’s not even asking me what I want to eat or where I want to go. He’s not asking if I’m hungry or if I want him to order food for me. No! He's just, "Alright. Yes. Stop talking." I rolled my eyes. When will he speak more? I’ll throw a party if that happens. I will invite all our relatives. I don’t want my night to be silent. I cleared my throat and then drank my champagne. Should I tease him? I really like it when his forehead is knotted. “Oldie—I mean, Zayn—are you getting bored with life?” I asked him. He stopped eating and looked at me. I can't bear sitting here without talking. I mean, I’m not talkative; I just want to express my ideas and opinions and discuss things that will help me or others. Well, it’s better to be expressive than se

Chapter 13: Ex's Reckoning Samantha's POV Diego went to a business meeting this morning, but before that, he still cooked breakfast. I offered to cook, but he didn't let me. “What should I do?” I asked myself. It’s getting boring. I’m all alone in his condominium. I thought of doing something. Maybe I could go shopping in the meantime? I sighed before getting to the shower room. After that, I just wore my bluish dress. It’s simple and not that revealing. Should I call Jorge, our driver, to pick me up? Or should I just call a taxi? I sighed; maybe I have no choice. I’m not living with my parents now. I just got into a taxi. I haven’t told Zayn that I’m leaving. He doesn’t care, by the way. The car parked, and I immediately swiped my card. I entered the mall and started looking for something I could buy. I went to the dress store when something caught my attention. I’ve always been here, but I h

Chapter 14: New Friend Samantha's POV I went home yesterday with a frown on my face. I didn't enjoy my shopping because of that ugly situation. He ruined the moment. Maybe he wouldn’t talk to me again because of what I did to him. Diego's business meeting ended earlier; that's why he was already home when I got there. Just like before, he looked at me with furrowed eyebrows, but I didn’t have time to talk to him yesterday because of what happened. I was just annoyed because of Andrew. He’s telling me that it’s my fault he cheated? Who in their right mind would think that way? Did Tiffany do something to him? A knock on the door brought me back to reality. I stood up to open it. It was Diego. He was already prepared, wearing a black long sleeve and sunglasses. “Did you prepare for this day? You look like a model in that outfit,” I said while smiling. I was just wearing my yellow dress above the knee. “The choppers

Chapter 15: Silly Woman Samantha's POV After we went home from Diego's Island, I decided to visit my mom and talk to them about the wedding. I could still see that they were shocked by how fast everything was happening. I’m being careful when I’m talking to them, afraid that I might accidentally reveal that the marriage might not last long. If they find out, I’m dead. “Where are you going?” Diego asked as I turned around to look at him. I placed my finger on my chin, thinking about whether to tell him or not. He was busy on his laptop. “Why? Are you coming with me?” I asked him. He didn’t respond, so I continued walking. “It’s already late at night,” I said with a smile when he spoke. Does he care about me right now? That’s so sweet of him. Or maybe he’s just worried that something bad might happen to me? But that’s caring, too. Whatever. I opened the door and was about to step out when he sighed. He then stood up while

The girl who is always irritating me, messing with me. I love her so much. I love her more than myself. I'm willing to give everything for her. I knew from the very beginning that she was just playing, the way she teased me, stared at me, and forced me to do things. How she tried to seduce me was just part of the contract. Leo began distributing the guns to the others. "Watch her," Mr. Wedge said, glancing at me. Tiffany grabbed the gun that Mr. Wedge handed to her. She pointed it at me while the war outside the building raged on. "Please, just let me go," I pleaded with Tiffany, but she didn’t listen. "Shut up! This is all because of you!" she snapped, pointing the gun directly at me. I shook my head in denial. "Remove the leash from her hands and feet, Windy," Tiffany ordered. Windy immediately did as she was told. "Get that knife and point it at her neck!" she added, and Windy obeyed. I looked at Windy, and I could see she was just being forced to do it. "No, please, Windy. I'm begging you," I said, crying. "You want to beg? Then kneel!" Tiffany screamed at me. "Get the guns! The police are here!" I h

Mrs. Bianca is also here, and everyone is drinking and eating. Diego is sitting beside me, holding my hand. We’re celebrating my pregnancy, and I have no idea what made Diego invite everyone over so suddenly. “Congratulations to both of you,” Mrs. Bianca says, raising her glass. Ray and Elisha are also here, joining in the celebration. “Thank you,” I smile, feeling a bit overwhelmed. Anya is happily playing with the new toy Diego bought her. “Congratulations, sis, and to you too, Diego,” Louis says, giving me a tight hug. “I’m so happy for you,” Leilani adds, embracing me warmly, and then congratulates Diego as well. “Congrats, Sam,” Elisha says, hugging me before giggling. “Congratulations, Sam,” Ray joins in, and as he hugs me, I can’t help but sniff him, then glare at him playfully.

Chapter Two Hundred Two: Happiness Samantha's POV We were busy with our work at the library. Anna and Jane sat with me, but all I could focus on was eating. It seemed like that’s all my body wanted these days. "Sam, no offense, but you've been eating the same thing every day. We’ve noticed," Anna commented, making me pause mid-bite and glance at the food in my hand. She was right, but I couldn’t help it. "And you're not even gaining weight. That's the strange part," Jane added. "Do you think it's a problem? I just can’t stop," I said, leaning back in my chair. Technically, eating wasn’t allowed in the library, but I couldn’t resist. "I thought you hated those foods? Remember when we tried to get you to eat strawberries? You wouldn’t even touch them," Anna said. I remembered that. But people change. "Girl, stand up for a second," Jane said suddenly. I stood, confused. "Face the wall." I bit my bottom lip, feeling their eyes on me. "Damn," Jane muttered. I sat back

Chapter Two Hundred One: Pregnant Diego's POV Damn it! That old man is really pushing my buttons. Luckily, I got there on time, or else he would have hurt Samantha. I know he already has an idea of what we are up to. Even though he tried to hide it, I could see how furious he was. Samantha still hasn’t spoken to me since then. I regret shouting at her. I got carried away by my emotions. I hated the way Mr. Wedge looked at her, especially when his gaze shifted down to her belly. He seems to know something. Yes, Samantha is pregnant. That's why I don’t want to stress her out. I’ve been planning to tell her about what’s going on, but I hesitate when I see her acting differently. I know she’s pregnant, and I know she’s confused too. "But Mom and Dad never mentioned that to me! Damn that Wedge," Louis said. We’re in my office right now. I snapped at him. He let go of Windy, who shook her head at me. He chuckled sarcastically while looking at me. "I think I already know you," he said, walking closer. I took a step back. "Call him," I heard Jane tell Anna. She was now frantically searching for her phone in her bag. "How could you hurt someone like her?" I asked him.
