Rose’s POVMonday morning and we were back in school. Ugh I couldn’t wait for it to be over. I was sitting in my last class of the day listening to the teacher drone on and on.“Hey babe pssst.”Ignore him Rose.“Pssssstttttt.”Don’t give in.“Rose pssssttt.”“What Brent?” I whisper yelled at him behind me.“I love you.” He gave me a cheesy smile. I just narrowed my eyes at him. He continued smiling and finally the bell rang. Oh thank goodness. I gathered up my notebook and pens and put them up in my backpack.“Let me grab that for you love.” Damien kindly came around to my desk and grabbed my backpack from me before landing a quick peck on my lips.“I can’t believe that graduation is almost here!” Brent exclaimed loudly as we walked out the room. He grabbed one of my hands while Damien grabbed the other. As we walked through the hallways we passed Layla. I did my best to ignore her gaping at us. I couldn’t wait for her to be exiled from the pack. Speaking of which that’s something I’
Rose’s POVToday I’m going to see a pack doctor. Just in the last few days I’ve grown double my size. Apparently that’s normal but I want to do a checkup anyway. I’m sitting inside an apartment that’s a little closer to the city. Joel said that members of the pack are allowed to live where they want, it’s a bit of freedom that makes his pack different from others.“Rose, if you can come in this room please.” The lady, named Emily, tells me.Joel squeezed my hand and I stood up to walk in the room with Emily.“So today we are going to do a general checkup, the procedures are the same as in the hospital except obviously they aren’t trained for hybrids.” She laughed. I give her a smile and go to sit on the bed she has set up.“So how has your appetite been?” She questioned.“It’s been pretty good. I’ve been eating quite a bit more and been really craving a lot of blood. I’m assuming it has to do with the vampire genes in me.” I tell her.“That would be correct. The increase in appetite i
Rose’s POVLater that evening I was chatting with Sophie in her room over our anti-prom plans.“I talked to Seb and he said we could have it at his castle!” She squealed while grabbing my shoulders and shaking me fiercely. I grinned back at her while she continued, “we will be holding it this Saturday night and he said he’ll invite some people he knows so it’s not just us hanging out there. We’re welcome to invite anyone we want but honestly I don’t like any of the other bitches at the school.”“I feel you.” I nodded.“I see you’ve been busy,” she wiggled her eyebrows at me. I started to choke on my spit.“Damn girl it’s not like I don’t know you’re having sex! Hybrid hearing remember?” She reminded me.I just nodded reluctantly. I know it’s one thing to have carefree sex, it’s another to hear others mention it.“Besides you’re pregnant. That didn’t happen on it’s own.” She pointed a finger at my belly. Well damn that’s true. I’m not stupid, just embarrassed being called out.“Don’t w
Rose’s POVThis last week flew by so quickly. It’s finally Saturday and I’m super nervous considering I’m meeting all the pack tonight. Originally anti-prom sounded like a good idea, but maybe I should’ve taken Joel’s original suggestion of waiting before meeting the pack. It just felt right to do it all on one night. Not only that but I will be completing the mating ceremony. Looking like I’m 6 months pregnant, I put on the white princess gown that Sophie helped me pick out. The top part is interwoven with small red and clear crystals while the bottom flares out so that my babies aren’t squished. I truly look like I’m having a shotgun wedding at this point but I don’t care. Sophie helped me finish putting on the gown and then sat me down to do my hair and makeup. She made large, loose curls with my hair and put it up in a high ponytail with a few tendrils framing my face. I’m wearing light purple eyeshadow, winged eyeliner, mascara and highlighter along with some reddish-mauve colore
Rose’s POVI looked at my surroundings, unable to answer Sebastian.“Let’s calm down and talk about this somewhere more private.” Max coaxed Sebastian.“Alright people, party is over, time to head home! Thank you for stopping in to meet your new luna!” Joel hollered out to all the guests.Max led me out of the ballroom and we followed Sebastian up the stairs into his study. He let out a heavy sigh and plopped down on his chair, rubbing his forehead.“Can someone please explain to me what’s going on?” He said after a few minutes, after my mates, Sophie, Mason and Kat entered the room.“When the lights went out I was grabbed by someone, he called me a fallen. He knows what I am. What are we supposed to do?” I blurted out as quickly as I could. Damien went up behind me and put his hands protectively on my hips. “Shhh it’s alright now baby.” He whispered.Max then chimed in, “the worst part was everyone else was frozen except me. I suspect it’s because I have demon blood.” I completely f
Rose’s POVRight now, I’m headed to Joel’s house. Max is driving me, for obvious reasons. When we arrived he was already there to open the front door. He ushered us in and I saw Pat sitting on one of the couches.“Good afternoon, Rose,” she greeted.“Hey Pat, it’s really good to see you again,” I greeted back.“So come sit by me, I made something for you.” She patted the spot next to her and I went and plopped down. She continued, “so I made this bracelet special for you. When it glows, that means you are near a demon, usually within 100 feet. I had to make an exception for Max’s blood so it won’t glow every time you’re near him. Now don’t be alarmed, there are many classes of demons and some of them probably will not pay any attention to you, but this is still a good tool for you to have. I also used a special herbal mixture to prevent your magic from being suppressed.” I nodded happily.“Now this is the part where you’ll love me. I went above and beyond and made special bracelets fo
Rose’s POVWe just finished shopping for our graduation dresses. I went with a simple sky blue dress with a hem that reaches mid-calf while Sophie went with a bright pink off the shoulder slip that reaches above the knees. As we left I looked back at the coffee shop where we came across Garrett a few days ago. We ended up exchanging numbers and have been chatting sporadically. He still hadn’t decided which university he wanted to go to but the university of Oregon is appealing apparently. He texted me last night about meeting my mates. I have mixed feelings about whether to have them meet or not. I’m concerned that my guys will compare themselves to him when there’s no reason to. So far, I have evaded the question but I’m not sure if he’ll keep asking or not.“What’s on your mind girly?” Sophie asked me.“I was thinking about Garrett, we have been texting and he wants to meet my mates.” I tell her.She gives me a pointed look. “If there’s nothing to worry about then why not let them m
Rose’s POVI woke up on the comfiest bed. I cuddled further into the comforter and let out a sigh.“Get your ass up, Rose!” I heard before a pillow hit my face.“What the hell Sophie? I’m trying to sleep.”“Are you stupid girl? We’ve been kidnapped.” At that statement I jumped right up. I noticed I was no longer wearing my clothes and my bracelet was missing. I had on a silky red nightgown with a hem that reached mid thigh that fit me, even with the pregnant belly. I looked up at Rose and she was wearing a similar one but hers was dark blue.“Where are we?” I asked her. I looked around, not recognizing anything. We were in a room that had two simple queen sized beds like in a hotel room. There were no windows with cherry hardwood flooring, a couple of wooden dressers, a mini fridge and a flat screen tv. I plodded towards the mini fridge and opened it up. I pulled out two bottles with red liquid and gave them a sniff. Blood.“Do you want a bottle?” I asked Sophie. She shook her head no
10 YEARS LATEREpilogue:Rose’s POV“Maddie! Jarren! What did I say about running in the house?” I yelled out, frustrated with these crazy kids.“You said not to run, mama.” Maddie recited obediently.“Suck up!” Jarren said.“Jarren! Don’t be rude!” I chastised. At least he had the decency to look apologetic.“They’re only kids baby, don’t forget that.” Damien kissed my cheek.Max came up on my other side and rubbed my tummy, “plus you’ll need to learn patience with this new set of kids.” He chuckled.“Lord, why does it have to be triplets? I thought we would stop at 5 kids and instead I have a whole house full of them!” I rubbed my face, frustrated.“Shh, it’s okay baby.” Joel whispered in my ear, licking it lightly.Colten came up from behind me and threw me over his shoulder, laughing while he ran with me. “Give it a month and I’ll be bigger than a whale!” I exclaimed while slapping his ass.“No matter what, you’ll always be the sexiest woman I’ve ever seen,” he said as he placed m
Rose’s POVMy first day started off great. I made lots of new friends at school and may have developed a crush or two. Tomorrow is my eighteenth birthday, and I couldn’t wait! Sophie promised we’d have a party at her and Mr. Star’s house, and I was really looking forward to it.“Girl, are you ready?” She said as she came to pick me up from my house.“Yes! I can’t wait!” I told her as I walked out the front door.Brent’s POVI noticed that a few things are turning out differently this time around versus before. I’m really hoping that making her, not a fallen, isn’t affecting too much. I really want to still be her mate. Besides, weren’t the five of us mates because we needed to “protect her.” Dammit. I was in such dire straights that I didn’t think my wish through.Rose’s POVI was dressed in a one-piece black swimsuit and swimming around the pool before the party when I heard a voice cry out, “Rose!”I looked over and saw Garrett. No way, how is Garrett here?“No way.” I whispered to
Rose’s POVToday is my first day starting a new school and I have to admit, I’m kind of nervous. I missed my boyfriend Garrett, well ex boyfriend as of the end of junior year. We were considering long distance but decided that it wouldn’t be a happy relationship for either of us. We agreed that we’d try to go to the same college if we were both single when the school year ended.“Bye mama, bye daddy!” I called out to my parents before striding out the door. My stepparents loved me dearly, my real parents died in a car accident when I was five years old, so I was old enough to know that I was a hybrid. I missed them everyday but I’m thankful for my stepparents adopting me from the orphanage. The school was a bit of a walk, but I wanted to explore a bit of the woods, so I decided that I’d much prefer walking over driving.“Rose?!” I heard a deep voice call out to me. I looked back and saw a tall brown-haired boy with a lip piercing and gorgeous blue eyes call out to me.“Excuse me, have
Maximus’s POVI couldn’t fall back asleep. Something is wrong, I just know it. I sat up and tried calling the others but was unable to reach anyone.“Forget this plant!” I exclaimed, throwing my phone down on the bed. I shifted and hopped down off the bed to go take a piss. When I was done relieving myself, I strode to the kitchen to look for something to eat.“You couldn’t sleep either?” Colten asked me. I shook my head no.“Why don’t we go straight to the source?” He then asked.“What do you mean?” I questioned.“I mean why don’t we go take care of Lucifer ourselves? I say that we call up Abigail and see what she can help us with. Neither of us can sleep anyway.” He said.“Okay, call her.” I told him. What have we got to lose anyway? He tried to call but she didn’t answer. “I’ll just send her a text for now.” He huffed. I grunted in reply and set out to make my sandwich.“Hey bro, is there any blood in the fridge? Toss me a bottle.” He said.I grabbed a bottle of the red liquid and
Brent’s POV“Now let the real trials begin.” That’s what this stupid podium said. You’ve gotta be kidding me.“Call the others,” Joel said but as he finished his sentence the hole began to close up from above us. I dashed forward to try to clear it but no luck.“No reception.” Garrett said, waving his phone around.“Welcome!” A voice boomed from all around us. I turned left and right but couldn’t see anything new.“I’m your host, Gabriel! If you can complete these trials, I will grant one wish. You can wish for anything! I just ask that you don’t destroy the Earth, that may be annoying to deal with. Now then!” The voice cut off and a glowing man in a white robe walked forward out of thin air. He was at least 8 feet tall with long blonde hair, huge muscles and sharp features.“Who’s ready?” He said with a huge smile on his face.“What’s with those fake trials?” Joel growled.“Oh that? That was just because it’s funny. Who doesn’t want to visit their ex? The flower thing though was just
Damien’s POVWe kept our flight to return to town so that we could go home for a bit and regroup. Joel reached out to Pat about this flower and she was going to look for a book that has some information on it.We walked into the house and it just felt lonely without Rose. Oh Rose, I really hope that we can get this situated soon. I miss you and I miss my children.“Chin up, bro, we’ll get these trials done quickly. There’s multiple men so that increases our chances in my opinion.” Brent told me. I tried to listen to his reassurances, but I couldn’t control how I feel.“Come on Patricia, why are you taking so long?” Joel griped while trying to call her again. After a few more hours and her not showing up, we decided to go to her house and check on her.Upon arriving, I could tell that something was off. The door was ajar and when we entered, the place was a wreck. It looked like someone tore through all her books and smashed her jars of potion ingredients.“What happened here?” Max roa
Joel’s POVWe returned to Stonehenge and followed the instructions that Patricia gave before she left the other day. She said as long as we drip Garrett’s blood on the grass, we should be able to enter again, she just warned us to do it at night when there was less likely to be tourists. When we made our way back down the stairs and to the podium, there was a different set of instructions. The moondrop flower is what you seek next. It only grows once every 100 years, will you be the lucky one to find it? This is a necessary ingredient for the poultice.“So we should probably wait to make the poultice.” I told the others.“Yeah, I would say so.” Brent retorted.“Where do we even find this flower? This is some bull!” Colten exclaimed. I had to agree. What was the point of these trials?“Once every 100 years? That’s some more bull!” Brent chipped in.“Did Lucifer say how many trials there were?” I asked Brent but he just shook his head no.“What if this is just a wild goose chase?” Damie
Maximus’s POVWe just checked into a hotel in Sweden.I was not looking forward to seeing Areleyna, again. Last time I saw her, I told her I’d be there when she woke up but then she started spouting some bullshit about being my girlfriend. Needless to say, I bolted as soon as she fell asleep. I have no idea why we need her scales in particular, that question has been bothering me.“So where do we go from here?” Joel asked me. I grumbled in reply until he nudged me.“She’s near the Baltic Sea. She used to reside in it but the pollution has become so bad that she prefers to stay on land now.” I told them.“So how did you two meet?” Brent asked me.“I was sunbathing nude on the beach, hey don’t judge me, then she walked up to me and propositioned me. Who was I to say no? We chatting for a short while before she invited me back to her place.” I told them.I could see Damien shaking his head. Judgmental punk. Not all of us were virgins until we met our mate. Hell, I didn’t think I would ev
Colten’s POVHere we are standing in front of the legendary Stonehenge.“So what do we do now?” Damien asked.“Well Asmodeus was supposed to snap Patricia with us but she was concerned she’d get stuck here so we are waiting on her flight. For now, I figured we could just look around, like tourists or something.” Brent answered. We decided to walk around these boring rocks for awhile. I was eager to get started on our mission but I didn’t have much choice in the matter. After awhile I see Patricia walking up. Finally.“Hey Patty!” Joel yelled out to her.“Hey guys, I’m finally here!” She said.“Thank goodness, I’m tired of staring at these overgrown rocks.” Brent said.He pulled out the scroll that Lucifer gave him and Patricia looked over it.“Before we begin I’m going to cast a spell that will make everything look normal to anyone passing by. We don’t need any silly rumors about witches and spells.” She laughed then turned back to read the scroll.“Tsk.” She said after a minute.“Wha
