one for the team

As the sisters enjoy their evening of bland food, others were being tortured at an office building in the business district.

"No Rob this is not it, we can't take this anymore, you need to talk to the big boss."

" yes Mr Rob, you are his brother and he will listen to you. I mean we've been over working ourselves for the past few months, the company has been doing well and we definitely aren't complaining about our salaries but we need some rest."

As the employees gathered in Rob's office complaining about being over worked, he felt like throwing himself over the building. 

'Heck I too am  being over worked, not only do I have to deal with his tantrums here at work but it's even worse at home.'

He was so frustrated that he wanted to yell at his employees but he knew better than to do that.

"He's the boss and calls the shots, I'm as scared of him as you are. Why don't you guys just go ask him yourselves?"

When they turned to look at him and how haggard he was, they felt that what he said was true and the fact that he was always at the office working along with them for long hours and sometimes till it was late at night made it hard for them to persuade him or argue with him.

" Well we would go, but none of us has ever met him nor have we seen his face to say the least and what makes it even hard is the fact that no one is allowed to go to his office, sigh."

"Maybe he would soften up if we get him a girlfriend, Don't you think Rob?"

One of the ladies there voiced out her ambitious desires to be the young mistress of the Jonas family and that caught Rob's attention as he put down the pen in his hand, leaned back on his chair and raised his head up to look at that woman with with his brow also raised.

"Is that so?"

"Mr Rob don't mind her, she's just spewing nonsense. "

One of the colleagues tried to get her out of that hole she was digging for herself.

"Hey what nonsense am I spewing? Listen Rob, I don't mind taking one for the team. He is overworking all of us right? So with me by his side maybe I will be able to get him to slow down a little and give all the other employees a chance to relax."

"So you mean you will take care of me, say if you become my sister inlaw?"

The woman instantly blushed when she heard Robert's question. 

"Yeah you've got nothing to worry about, as long as you don't stay with us though."

She answered with confidence.

"I see, can you cook?"

"Ptshh in this day and age? Why cook when we have the money to get people to do it for us?"

"My brother wants someone who can cook for him."

"Uuh hehehe you know I can learn, that shouldn't be hard to do. "

Her desperation for fortune was written all over her face, all she wanted was a quick fix and not something she'd need to work for.

"Don't worry yourself about that, focus on your music career which isn't doing so well right now. My brother doesn't need a girlfriend. Owh,please close the door on your way out."

Hearing this the woman stomped her feet in disappointment and embarrassment. She couldn't believe that she got rejected in front of her other colleagues and what made it worse was that she was even chased out of the office.

She regarded herself as the best in the company both in her appearance and work abilities but to be disrespected and  rejected like that by Rob was a huge blow to her ego.

'I need to find the boss myself, huh I'll make Rob lose his job.' She thought to herself as she angrily left that office.

Her colleagues shook their heads and followed behind. Everyone return to their tasks that were assigned to them as the company had taken lots of campaigns, there was also a lot for everyone to do.

Rob on the other side ordered some take out food and went over to his brother's office on the top floor of the building.

When he arrived there, he found that all of Eric's employees were also present and hadn't left as it was way passed work time.

"Mr Jonas help us please."

They begged whispering to him so that the big boss does not hear and doesn't get angered by their pleas.

Rob in the other side only shrugged his shoulders and whispered back,

" we are in the same boat buddies."

He then walked pass their desks all the way to Eric's office, knocked twice, opened and walked in.

He was then greeted by a depressed Eric who was seated facing the floor to ceiling windows in his office. He was staring at the buildings opposite.

"What do you want?"

His deep manly voice sounded throughout the room as he spoke.

"Bro even if you are in a bad mood, you still need to eat."

Rob said that as he walked over to Eric's desk with the food in his hand. He cleared up all the documents on the table and placed the food boxes on it.

When Rob opened the boxes, the aroma from the food filled the whole office room and that forced Eric to turn his chair over and reach out his hand over  to the food and started digging in.

"If she's so important to you, Why don't you just call her?"

"I don't have her numbers."

He responded absent mindedly as he continued to dig in his food. He had starved himself the entire day and this was his very first meal of the day.

"You know we can get that in a few minutes, if you want, I can get them for you."

"No."

His answer was flat but Also authoritative hence Robert did not persuade his brother even further. Rob was the only one who knew him best and was the only person who took the time to understand Eric and that's probably the reason why Eric wasn't too hard on him even on his bad days.

It's not that Eric didn't want Nelly's number, but he wanted Nelly to be the one who shares it with him.

As they were wrapping up their dinner Robert decided to lighten up the mood as he told Eric what had happened in their entertainment company during the day.

"Hehe You know what that woman Linda said about you today?"

"Mhmm"

"I'll tell you anyway, she said you need a girlfriend to soften you up a little and she wouldn't mind to take one for the team and be yours."

He then went on to look closely at his brother to observe his reaction, he wanted to see if he'd have the heart to like someone else or if his heart was only set on one person.

What he got thought was a scary Eric as his eyes had darkened in anger, the air surrounding became freezing cold as he responded

"I see you don't have work to do, maybe I should add more for you and your little friend so you stop gossiping during work time."

"No no, we don't gossip! You know everyone is tired from all the work, maybe if you can just give them a day off or half of the day to go home and relax, you know you'll be amazed at how much energy they'll put in when they return."

"Will think about it."

They then went on to finish their meal in silence, once they were done, Robert went over to the couch to relax a little but ended up falling asleep.

One of his secretary was called in to clean the mess and once she was done, Eric continued with his work.
