“Miss Camari Gastrell,” called the nurse on duty. I stood up to answer her call. “Miss Cavanaugh is waiting for you in her office.”

“Thank you,” I replied.

I followed her into the office and smiled at the cozy room. I felt like I was in a living room with an ivory sofa and an oak table. The sideboard and bookcase were also made of oak.

I overheard Otis and Jasper's conversation in his office that day. They reminded me of Deborah's advice. Therefore, I researched psychologists that people liked and were affordable. I was happy to find a psychologist who accepted patients with health insurance.

The psychologist stood up and extended her hand to me. “Hi, Miss Gastrell.”

“Camari,” I corrected as I shook her hand.

“Call me Jen, then.” She smiled warmly and invited me to sit down. “Thank you for trusting me. Well, how can I help you?”

"Well ...." My tongue suddenly felt numb. My head was blank, and I forgot what to say.
