I don’t see it coming and I don’t actually feel it until I am lying with my face in the gravel. I then hear footsteps over that gravel, along with the sound of a car door opening and then closing. I growl as I punch the ground. He had sucker punched me, got into his car, and then left, taking Annalise with him. Hugo howls a little in my head, first at not getting to touch and take home our Annalise or getting to even have a look at her.
