Olivia

The brilliant blue ocean almost seemed to glitter underneath the warm Mediterranean sun as Nathan and I stepped out of the airport, breathing in the sweet tropical air. A refreshing breeze ruffled my sundress and hair, instantly filling me with a boost of energy after the long flight.

“Ahh… isn’t this perfect?” Nathan murmured as he wrapped an arm around my waist, pulling me close. His fingers trailed lightly over the nape of my neck in a way that never failed to make me shiver. “So warm and sunny compared to home. I could get used to this, Liv.”

I laughed a bit, leaning into him. “Me too,” I mused. “I plan to spend every minute either sunbathing on the beach or gorging myself on fresh olives and pasta. Maybe both at the same time.”

Nathan grinned roguishly. “You deserve it. You are eating for two now, after all.” His hand trailed down to rest on my belly, which was finally beginning to ‘pop’ these days.

I smirked and placed my hand over his. “Well, if you insist…”

OliviaI let out a satisfied sigh as I fell back onto the pillows. Beside me, Nathan rolled over, his face covered in a slight sheen of sweat. The tropical night air from the open balcony doors floated across my flushed bare skin, cooling me off after our late-night romp.A smirk drew across Nathan’s lips as he looked over at me. “You still with me, Liv?” he asked. His tone was playfully cocky.“Barely,” I hummed, rolling over to press myself against him. “You should be more careful with a pregnant woman.”Nathan chuckled, a low, inviting sound as his arm came around to lay across my hips. “Is that a complaint I detect?” he teased. His eyebrow quirked challengingly even as his fingers traced lovingly across my skin.I nipped at his neck in retaliation, eliciting a satisfying grunt to escape from his lips. “Far from it,” I teased. “I should be the one asking if you have any energy left. We have that snorkeling tour at nine in the morning tomorrow, after all…”“Careful taunting me,” Na

OliviaStepping off the plane and inhaling the brisk pine-scented air felt instantly rejuvenating. As much as I adored island life, it felt good to be home. Nathan wrapped an arm securely around my shoulders, pulling me close as we crossed the arrival gate together.“Just because the honeymoon’s over doesn’t mean the romance has to end,” he murmured, nuzzling that sensitive spot beneath my ear in a way that never failed to make me shiver, as if an electric current had just run up my spine.I tilted my face up towards his, sighing contentedly when his warm, soft lips met mine. When we finally pulled apart, I kept my arms tightly wound around his torso, my ear pressed against his chest as we waited for Angela and Levi to arrive.“You’re not allowed to get distant and broody on me again, you hear?” I mumbled into his sweater. “No matter how stressful Alpha politics become, don’t let us fall back into our old routines…”Nathan let out a sigh of annoyance, although it was more amused than

NathanMy fingers fumbled clumsily with the navy blue silk tie for what felt like the hundredth time that morning. For the past half hour or so, I had been painstakingly struggling to flatten the creases perfectly, all to no avail.Groaning in frustration, I raked a hand through my already disheveled hair. I knew obsessing over minor outfit details like this was ridiculous when monumentally larger worries loomed, such as my first meeting with the Alpha association, which would be in just a couple of short hours.Still—impressions mattered, especially when my entire pack status rested on this probationary period. I needed to prove that I was worthy of being on the association, and I couldn’t spare any details.Suddenly, the door creaked open and I turned to see Olivia slip inside. She was dressed plainly for a comfortable day at home with the twins, but she was still glowing from our tropical honeymoon. With her belly growing bigger by the day, she looked even more beautiful. In fact,

OliviaI traced random patterns across my rounded belly as I waited in the clinic room, hoping to soothe my restless heart as it pounded in my chest. I knew I shouldn’t be so anxious for a routine prenatal checkup, but I couldn’t help it.“Nathan should be here,” I muttered to myself as I stared absentmindedly at a poster depicting a womb and ovaries, with little labels on each part.I let out a soft sigh as my words were met with no response, because I was, of course, alone—aside from my wolf, who merely rumbled in agreement in the back of my mind.Today, Nathan was at his first Alpha association meeting. I had been a little sad when I found out that he wouldn’t be here to hear our baby’s heartbeat for the first time, but it wasn’t as if we had much of a choice. The doctor was fully booked this time of year, and there was absolutely no passing up his first meeting.Plus, after all of the hard work we had all put into getting him on that association to begin with, there was no way in

Olivia & NathanOlivia“Nathan, are you drunk?”Nathan blinked at me dazedly for several beats too long before dissolving into unexpected breathy giggles. His eyes crinkled delightedly like one might upon overhearing a hilarious joke. I fought the illogical bubble of laughter rising in my own chest as I stood there, watching an Alpha, of all people, being reduced to such uncharacteristic giddiness because…He was utterly intoxicated.“I may… I may be a little drunk,” he confessed between residual snickers. “But it was rather necessary for cementing alliances, as I’ve learned.”I rolled my eyes. “You dog,” I teased. “On a scale of one to ten, how drunk are you?”He smirked. “Eight? No… Nine.”My brow furrowed as I instinctively guided my husband’s swaying form into the living room. He needed to hydrate and steady himself immediately.“So, what happened?” I asked, trying to stifle a laugh as he nearly stumbled into a wall. “Must have been an exciting meeting if booze was involved.”“The

OliviaThe imposing iron gates of Dan’s sprawling estate swept open, allowing our car to drive up the winding driveway to the front doors. My breath caught in my throat as I took in the sprawling columned veranda and flickering lanterns that dotted the finely sculpted gardens, which somehow still seemed verdant and lush despite the January weather.“Wow,” I breathed as I peered out the windshield at the multi-story brick home, which looked as if it had been taken right out of a scene depicting a manor in the English countryside. “This place is beautiful.”“Sure is.” Nathan leaned forward from the driver’s seat, following my gaze as he guided the car along the pebbled driveway. He let out a low whistle as he took in the towering cupolas. “I think I prefer our little villa, though.”I grinned. “So do I.”We pulled up to the front door, where a row of other cars was parked. Each one seemed to be more expensive than the last, from foreign sports cars to electric vehicles that must have co

OliviaDan lifted his champagne flute, clinking a fork loudly until the buzzing conversations around the grand dining table quieted. All eyes slid expectantly to the head Alpha, who was grinning broadly as his gaze scanned the room.“Esteemed friends and colleagues,” Dan said, “please lift your glasses in a warm toast; tonight, we are welcoming the most recent addition to our alliance.” As he spoke, his steely gaze landed on Nathan, who straightened proudly in his seat beside me.“Young Mr. Ford here,” Dan continued, “represents the future of progressive change with his daring charity ventures and his lovely… family commitments.”Heat flooded my cheeks at the veiled pregnancy reference. Dan’s eyes slid over to me, albeit briefly, and something in his gaze made me uncomfortable. I felt as if he was assessing, calculating. But then, just as before, it was gone just as quickly as it had come. I hadn’t imagined the subtle jab in Dan’s tone and the cold look in his eyes, had I?“To Nathan’

OliviaMy heels clicked loudly on the marble floors as I walked up to Nathan and the leggy blonde who was perched provocatively on the arm of his chair.“Nathan,” I said, “can I talk to you for a moment?”Nathan lifted his gaze to meet mine, and there was a look of surprised innocence in his blue-green eyes. “Of course, love,” he said with a soft smile. “We were just discussing a few financial ventures I’m considering investing in for the pack, but it can wait.”“I see,” I said stiffly, my gaze drifting over to the concubine. Her green eyes flashed as she looked at me, and with a flip of her blonde hair over her shoulder, she rose and sauntered off.Once we were alone, I exhaled tightly. No way was I going to cause a scene here, but the territorial glare that that woman had shot me raised my hackles.“What did you want to talk about?” Nathan asked.“Not here,” I hissed. Taking his hand, I pulled him up out of the chair a bit more roughly than I intended and pulled him down a nearby ha

OliviaI gripped the edges of the podium, my knuckles whitening from the strain as I stared out over the sea of faces. All eyes were trained squarely on me, awaiting my words. But I was frozen.A tremor of nausea wormed its way up my throat as I stared out at them. What was I thinking—how could I have ever agreed to this? Speaking to crowds had never been my forte; that was Nathan’s arena, not mine. I was just the woman behind the scenes, the young mom who had never gone to college, the one who had been handed her job by her husband…Suddenly, a flicker of motion off to the side caught my eye—Nathan, standing just at the edge of the stage with his arms folded across his chest. Even from this distance, I could feel the weight of his steady gaze, that piercing Alpha stare that always seemed to see straight into the depths of my soul.He must have sensed my faltering because, slowly, deliberately, he offered me the faintest of smiles and a single, reassuring nod.And just like that, the

Olivia I looped my arm through Nathan’s as we stepped down from the podium, the applause from the crowd and the flashing of cameras having finally subsided after what felt like an eternity. “It’s over,” Nathan beamed, giving my arm a squeeze. “That wasn’t so bad.” I couldn’t help but grin back at him. “No, it wasn’t. You were great up there.” And he really had been great; the press conference had been an overwhelming success—any lingering doubts or trepidation we had harbored before had been utterly blown away by the sheer force of the crowd’s enthusiastic response. For so long, it had felt like we were fighting this battle alone, like the victims who had suffered under Dan’s horrific operation were little more than nameless, faceless casualties. But today, we had finally given them a voice. Their stories had reached the masses, had resonated and struck a chord with everyone who watched. Nathan had handled all of the questions that were thrown his way with poise and ease

A moment later, his voice called out, “Come in.”Stepping into the room, I placed my hands on my hips upon seeing the scene in front of me: Nathan was standing in front of the mirror, his shirt still untucked and his tie loosened. His desk was a mess of papers and folders, and it was clear that he had been checking over his notes last-minute before the press conference.

With the press conference today, followed by a festival to help raise funds for the shelter we were building, the park was bustling with activity as our pack members worked hard

OliviaThe sound of power tools outside streamed in through the window while I folded the laundry, a distant backdrop to my swirling thoughts. I had grown used to the sound, and actually kind of enjoyed it.
