EVA'S POV
I crouched with my hands over my head, and my body drawn close together, waiting for the impact.
I just hoped that I would manage to get out alive from the debris that was about to rain on me. I seriously needed to discuss it with God. What had done to have so many near-death experiences in such a short while?
I was still okay with that. I knew that life could not always be a bed
ALEX’S POVI was so furious when Eva came to the garden even after promising me that she would stay away. I wasn’t asking her to do this because I had some selfish interest, was I? All I wanted to do was protect our baby. Was that wrong? I was even more irritated when she behaved as if she was the one who was hurt. I was scared that I would lose control if I looked at her. So,
EVA’S POVI felt my face burn. The sun’s heat was scorching me. My body felt stiff and numb. It took me a while to open my eyes and take in my surroundings.“Gosh! Is it already morning? I muttered as I tried to get up. I tapped my foot several times to get rid of the numbness. I wondered why nobody had come to take me back to the Golden Land.
EVA'S POVI sat there numbly for several minutes, too stunned to react. When I could regain my senses, I shook the man lying in front of me.“Liam! Liam! Please wake up, Liam!” I said hysterically, shaking him. “No…no…no…Liam…you have to come back to me,” I said, swallowing my saliva. I rubbed his hands and feet and slapped his fac
EVA'S POVMy heart felt like it would burst at any moment. I have never felt so much coldness and grief grip my heart before. It was as if my soul was sucked out. I never wanted to get up again. I wanted to get lost in the darkness for eternity, but I felt a warm glow pull me back to consciousness.
ALEX’S POV“Please, stop her, Alex…please stop her,” Victoria said as she came running towards me breathlessly. I wondered what Eva had done now. It was becoming difficult to handle her these days. Maybe, she was a bit upset due to pregnancy. “What happened now, Victoria?” I said, rolling my eyes.
ALEX’S POVA month later…I was sitting beside the fountain in the south garden, the one I had destroyed. Tender, green shoots were dancing in the breeze. Mother nature had resurrected the garden once again, but my heart, my soul, can never be resurrected.
ALEX'S POVMy mind was reeling with my father’s words. I could never accept Victoria as my wife. There was love only for one person in my life. Even though she had betrayed me, spread thorns in my path, plunged me into the unending abyss of an inferno. I could never stop loving her. My decision made the moment my father gave me the choices. The only problem was that I was finding it
Two Days Later….ALEX’S POVFor the past two days, I had been ruminating about my decision. Despite the conflicts and plots being laid by other people, I found it impossible to take the decision of marrying Victoria. I had been bugging Victoria, my father, and others to find out more about the curse, but it was all in vain.
ALEX’S POV“Ahhh!!! No!! Please… Alex… ambulance…” Eva’s piercing cry woke me at the dead of the night. She was doubled over with pain."Are you alright?" I asked caressing her head."Do I look alright? Call the damned ambulance." She screamed grasping her abdomen.“F***!” I said jumping off my bed and picked up the phone. Tring…tring…tring…
EVA’S POV“Where are we going, Alex?” I asked trying to peek at the destination shown on the Google map. “Don’t cheat, Eva. Don’t ruin my surprise…” Alex said steering the car. “Alright… alright… You can at least tell me if I will like this place…” I said shrugging my shoulders.“I don’t know, Eva. It isn’t exactly the kind of place you like.”“Then, why are we going there?
ALEX’S POVI had to leave the room. I was scared I would hurt Eva if I stayed there any longer. My blood boiled when I heard Eva talking about drinking the potion. I had died a thousand deaths every day watching her life ebb slowly. Here she was, ready to risk her life in the blink of an eye. I continued walking aimlessly through the palace, then the garden, just trying to let out some steam. Suddenly my feet came to a halt. What if Eva tried to drink the potion while I was not with her.
EVA'S POV“Alex… what if I die before giving birth to our daughter? Worse… if I die after her birth…” My lips trembled as I voiced out my concern. He ran his hand over my head and said, “Don’t think like that Eva, I promise, I will not let anything happen to you…”I pursed my lips and nodded my head. I didn’t want to worry Alex anymore but I couldn’t get the words of the spirit out of my head, ‘You will die a slow painful death!’“Remember the words of the spirit, Eva. She has ble
EVA'S POVThe moment I opened my eyes, I had to shield them with my hands. I winced and said, “Ah… please draw the curtains. This light is unbearable.”Once the intensity oflight decreased I was able to open my eyes again. I tried to get up when I realized that I was in an unfamiliar room. I was still squinting as the light hurt slightly. Someone grasped my hands and made me lie down again. “Queen, you need to rest…&rd
I stared at my flat stomach in the mirror. It had been a week since the spirit had blessed me… alright… cursed me too but Alex and I had decided to focus only on the blessing part. “Wondering if you are pregnant?” Alex whispered as he hugged me from behind, softly nibbling my ears. “This wait is driving me crazy, Alex… when do you think I would get pregnant…”“I don’t know about that but we can try to increase our chances you know…” When I caught the naughty glint in his eyes my face heated and lowered my
EVA'S POVThe queasy feeling subsided after all the drink was out of my system. I heaved a sigh of relief and sat on the throne. My eyes flitted to Alex and the other Golden Shiffters gazing at me with worry. Damn! Why was this giving me a headache?“Are you alright, Eva?” Alex said, placing his hand on my head and projecting some energy into me. “Yeah… I am good… I think the glasses got interchanged and I drank Soma instead of blood… by the way, where is Victoria. Is she alright?”“I think she went to her room, Quee
THIRD PERSON’S POVCheerful chatter filled the Dining hall as everyone gathered in the hall. Every once in a while there would be silence when a pang of grief hit someone but they tried their best to keep up the lively atmosphere. “I have to say that Queen Eva has a very large heart…I mean I have never known anyone who can forgive someone who tried to steal their husband…”“True… She not only forgave her but she is accepting Victoria’s daughter as her Godchild….”“Hmmm…. But I am a bit scare
ALEX'S POV“Eva, I can’t believe a week has passed without any mishaps..” I said hugging Eva from the back. “Hmmm… everyone is still depressed. It tears me apart to see them lamenting and brooding. We have to do something, Alex…”She was right. We couldn’t continue to spend our entire life buried under layers of sorrow and darkness. It would defeat the purpose of our existence. “Eva, I think I know what to do…”&ldq
