FIBI'S POV
All through the journey with my father, I was scared and I kept wondering where we were going. His words cut through my musings. “You know you are not my child, right?” I froze in my seat. I was finally hearing the truth I suspected but tried to evade. No father would treat his child like my father treated me. My mother's earlier warning seeped into my brain. I then realized why she was worried enough to ask me to run. He turned away from the road before us, to spare me a glance. Then he broke into a long mocking laughter. It was like a knife had been plunged deep into my heart. “Your mother didn’t tell you? That bitch ... prostitute. She had you out of rape, my dear. Infact six men raped her and we don’t even know which of them is the father. When she became pregnant, I asked her to get rid of you but she refused. I ...” It was too much for me and I couldn’t hold it in anymore. I found myself shrieking like a wounded lion before bursting into pained tears. My father stopped talking but only for that moment. All through the journey to wherever he was taking me, he kept taunting me, intentionally trying to make me feel like a loser. “You are a curse, Fibi, nothing but a mistake. You broke my marriage. You came and you ruined the relationship between your mother and myself. I mean, it wasn’t great to begin with, but you made it worse! You are nothing but a bad omen!” He kept tormenting me. I almost asked him to stop the car and let me out, but my wolf reminded me that it would only bring beatings and injuries, which he wouldn’t hesitate to inflict on my body. After having to listen to his scathing words for what seemed like a lifetime, we finally got to the front of a shiny white gate. It was very big and eye-catching, adorned with real gold and diamonds. “What are we doing here?” I asked no one in particular, hoping it wasn't the same castle I always see on the television and news. The castle of the terrifying and formidable Alpha King, DIEGO LEO SANTOS!” My father remained silent but the glare he gave me was enough to shut me up. Before I could say ‘moon goddess, have mercy’, I was being dragged by two guards, to his threatening presence. “I have brought her. You can give me the money now.” My father's voice reached me and I watched him take a fat envelope from a regal beautifully-adorned lady. I suspected her to be Alpha Diego’s mother. “Mother, I have told you already! I’m not interested in getting married. They are all the same thing, she cannot be my wife!” He yelled at his mother. He continued, “I don’t want her, or any filthy girl like her, in my life, Mother. She’s just a piece of shit like the rest of them. Get her out of here now!” His words, while sending chills down my spine, appeared to just roll off his mother's back with no effect. In the midst of the flurry, I looked him over. He frowned back at me from where he sat on his wheelchair. Kneeling here before him, I could confirm the news about his state of health after the accident he had two years ago. I could also see why he was feared by everyone. If I didn't know him to be the Alpha King, I may have thought him a rogue. As he snarled and bellowed, his gray eyes glowed like the moon shining on ice. I quickly cast my eyes to the floor. “I’m not interested in marrying you either!” I screamed in my head. I was too terrified to look him in the face or say the words out loud. The realization that I’m kneeling right in front of the most powerful and feared Alpha in the whole werewolf territory was really sinking in. He glowered at me and sniggered like he heard me loud and clear. I remembered rumors of him possessing strange powers, could he be a mind-reader? “She’s all yours now, my queen. The wedding process can begin. I will be here to make sure she gets married immediately.” My father's flat voice jolted me back to reality again. I turned to peer pleadingly at my father, maybe he will have pity on me and allow me go back home to my mother. But he only scowled in return. My heart was torn into pieces at that moment. “Mother… oh... Mother!” I whimpered to myself. Holding my chest, I allowed myself to slip onto the cold, expensive tiles. I wondered what she would do if she found out about what my father just did to me, how her husband sold me to what will surely be my death.DIEGO'S POV"She’s all yours now, my queen. The wedding process can begin. I will be here to make sure she gets married immediately.” The man's eager words drew my rage to him. He is too greedy and I felt like kicking him in the cock. What a shithole for a father! My own father would have died protecting me! “Mother, I don’t believe in all the moon goddess prophecy shit. Get these people ... these things ... out of my house.” I barked at my mother. Then she gave me that look, that one look that always melts my determination and resolution. “Mother, don’t do that please, I told you already, no woman is worth it. And she doesn’t seem to like me as well… right?” I turned to the girl kneeling before me.She nodded her head aggressively at once, agreeing with me. I didn’t know what to believe, maybe she really doesn’t want me or she’s pretending. A girl of her standard, in fact any girl at all, would jump at me.I rolled my eyes and looked back at my mother, but she still had that sweet a
FIBI'S POV“Leave her.” The voice was calm but commanding. It could only be one person: Elder Queen Diana, Alpha Diego's mother. Both my new maids and Ethan withdrew from me in immediate obedience. With a flick of her wrist, she dismissed them totally and they all dispersed as she came to sit beside me.She took my hands in hers while my tears kept flowing unchecked. She sighed.“Child, I'm sorry it had to be this way, but trust me, it's the best way.” She began.“You see, my son wasn't always this way. But there's only so much tragedy, betrayal and bitterness that a soul can take before it turns dark. Deep inside, the sweet soul I birthed is still there, but only a special she-wolf can get him out again.”I bawled harder at her words. I couldn't understand my place in all of this and why I had to be sold into a union I never asked for. She patted my back as tenderly as one would do to an infant. “Cry out all the tears you need to shed, my darling. Because after this, you're going to
DIEGO'S POV I pulled myself up from my custom-made bathtub and unto my wheelchair which I had left right beside the bathtub. Three years ago, I'd had my bathroom remodeled to better suit my needs. The bathtub was high enough that I could lower myself into it and also raise myself out of it, with the support of my arms.I flexed those arms now as I reached for the towel. I trained hard to keep fit and also strengthen all my other muscles. If my legs were going to be useless to me, at least my arms can become strong enough to support my weight whenever I need that.Simply tossing the towel over my lower body, I wheeled myself out the door. Then I stopped in my tracks.Who the hell is that on my bed? I wondered. My eyes were already seeing red before I got close enough to see her clearly.I swallowed. Hard. I fought it with my mind but my manhood had a mind of its own. It stood at attention under the towel, as if it was saluting the mouth-watering sight in front of me, throbbing almost
FIBI'S POV A knock on the door woke me up. I stretched contentedly. That must be the soundest sleep I'd ever had in my adult life. Due to the awkwardness of last night, I had tossed around at first, but this mattress was definitely not made for tossing around. It was so inviting and soothing that I lost all consciousness until this morning.Suddenly my brain came awake and I bolted upright, remembering what woke me up. Was he back? How would I face him this time? Surely he would still be in a sour mood because of yesterday.I gave a big sigh of relief when I opened the door and saw the elder queen.“Good morning, Mother.” I beamed.“Well well well, someone is radiant this morning. Did he finally come around and show you what the Leo Santos wolves are made of?” Diana grinned.A burst of red stained my cheeks. I was more mortified that I even understood that she was talking about sex.I replied shyly, “Mother, he didn't even sleep here. He gave me a death glare and stormed out immedia
ETHAN'S POV“I'm just concerned about the distance. You know, my place is all the way here in Sea Stone, while his own home is far away in Red Moon Pack. But who knows? I may as well move to Red Moon, now that my best friend has become Luna and queen…”I kept rambling until I looked up and saw that Fibi was no longer by my side. She was already a few meters away, moving as though she was sleepwalking.I tried to catch up with her, and I called out, “Where are you going?”Her reply came out like from a trance, “My mate is somewhere around here.”I glanced around. We had decided to wait for Sarah, Fibi's mother, in the woods, close to the pack ground boundary. Afar off in the direction that Fibi faced, I could only see a car, although it was a familiar car.I grabbed her hand to stop her. “What are you doing? You can't just go to him! Have you forgotten that you're married?” “But the mate bond is pulling me. I have to go to my real mate.” She argued, trying to break my grip on her wris
FIBI'S POV The kitchen maid was shedding heavy tears when she ran back to me.“Jill! What happened? What did he do to you?” I inquired. My alarm was evident in my tone. The girl hiccuped when she tried to talk. She was not calm enough to explain anything. However when I took a closer look at her apron, I saw for myself what my so-called husband did to her. I narrowed my eyes.“Alpha King Diego did this?” I went ahead to ask, though the question was unnecessary.Jill nodded, still sobbing. I fought to retain calmness in my body as I collected the dishes she still held. They were empty now, their hot content plastered to her apron. What sort of a person would pour soup that was piping hot on another person, an innocent kitchen maid for that matter?I had directed Jill on what herbs to use in making soup for Diego, the herbs that would set him on the path of healing. I even baked his bread myself. Then I instructed Jill to take the food to him in his office, where he now spent the large
FIBI'S POV I flailed frantically as blood drained from my face. My hands hit his chest a couple of times but it had no effect on him. How could he be on a chair and be able to suffocate me like this? “The next time you start thinking that you're anything special in this castle, remember that I don't give a hoot about you and your life. I try to tolerate you for Mother's sake, but don't imagine that she can save you from me all the time.” He warned. When I thought I couldn't bear it anymore, he released me suddenly. I fell at his feet like a sack of potatoes. As I rubbed my neck, tongue out, trying to get oxygen back into my lungs, I concluded that Diego was the devil himself. Maybe with the kind of sweet mother he had, I had started to think that he couldn't be so bad. That's what gave me all my boldness. But now, I knew for sure; he wasn't just that bad, he was worse! Tears threatened to spill all over my face, but I held them in. Never again would I give him the pleasure
DIEGO'S POV “Was that…?” My question hung in my mouth as I gave in to my impulse and pursued Lisa.Despite putting my wheelchair on auto drive, she was gone before I could get to her. She fled through the backdoor, and although I could still see her in the far distance, I could not hope to reach her. I gave a frustrated huff, running a hand through my hair. Now that the chase had come to a disappointing end, I allowed my wolf's question to reach me. He kept asking me, “Why are you running after Lisa? What will you do when you catch her?”Honestly, I didn't know. I had no clue what I wanted from her. All I knew was that she left me in a terrible state all those years ago. As I sat in my chair and bitterly stared at the exit door, the past came flooding unwittingly into my memory.…….THREE YEARS AGO “Why can't you at least try to like her?” I asked Mother. She and Lisa just had another misunderstanding that led to her tongue-lashing Lisa. I had to console Lisa as she came crying to
DIEGO'S POV “I'm sorry, King Diego. She made me promise, and I cannot betray her trust. She already lost faith in men, I can't let her lose faith in friendship too.”These words from Ethan, Fibi's best friend, were so profound in my ears. They went deep into my heart. I was one of the reasons that she stopped trusting men. I can't also be the reason she would stop trusting friends. The way he could even stand his ground despite my Alpha command, was very impressive. It showed he could do anything for his friend, and I wanted that for her. Really, I did. But every hour that passed without me having my wife back, was like a knife being twisted in my very soul!I needed my wife, and I needed her now! I glared at Ethan, but it was actually myself I was angry at. For mistreating and letting go of a rare gem, a she-wolf like no other.I held myself back from using my full authority as Alpha King to pry the information from him, because then Fibi may believe that he betrayed her. But I coul
ETHAN'S POV“Where is she?” Alpha King Diego roared, his voice making everything in his throne room to tremble. I also trembled in front of him, but I stood my ground. I had to.It was two days after his visit to Sea Stone Pack to look for Fibi. He had summoned me immediately I got back to Greg's place. I already admitted to knowing where Fibi was, but I refused to divulge her location.“I'm sorry, King Diego.” I sobbed. I tried to reason with him, “She made me promise, and I cannot betray her trust. She already lost faith in men, I can't let her lose faith in friendship too.”The king appeared shocked that I could resist his roar and still not tell him what he wanted to know. He gave a frustrated puff and ran his hand through his hair. His eyes blazed white, with a cold fire when he glared at me.I could see him struggling to hold himself back. The truth is that, if he should use his full Alpha King command voice, I wouldn't be able to withstand it. I didn't understand why he didn't.
FIBI'S POV No, there was no way I could live with myself if I left her here like this. Then I got an idea. I rushed back to my underground home. Grabbing one of my sleeping blankets, I hurried back to the hole in the ground.I managed to drag her out till she was on top of the blanket. Heaving and pulling the blanket, I was able to get her into my hideout. Getting her down the ladder was far more tricky, but I managed it.By the time I laid her down, I was sweating profusely. I took a few minutes to rest and regulate my breathing. Then I examined her. She was bleeding from her arm and her feet. I guessed that her feet injuries would be from running barefooted. However, that of her arm seemed like something tore through the skin, perhaps it was a tree branch.I didn't have much resources here, but I did what I could to clean up her wounds. All she had on the sole of her feet were scratches and bruises, I expected them to heal immediately I finished cleaning. But they didn't. I frowned
FIBI'S POV The little girl released a gleeful laughter and called out to me. “Mother!” She said. I turned to smile lovingly at her.She was so pretty, with shimmering white hair that caught the rays of the sun and glinted. My heart swelled with pride. Suddenly, as she was twirling towards me, the sun dimmed. The moon rose in place of the sun, casting its soft glow directly on the little girl. She stopped and raised her face to the moonlight, soaking it in. Her skin glowed like it had its own light. Her eyes, her hair, her skin, they all became the same color as the full moon.I stood in awe as I watched her. She faced me unexpectedly. “Take heed!” She cautioned. “Protect me at all cost, for in me lies the salvation of the wolf kind from human terrorism.”Her voice was like the tinkling of many small bells.I jumped up from the pile of blankets that I usually slept on as my bed. It was all a dream after all. But it didn't feel like just a dream. I put my hand on my pregnancy.“Take he
FIBI'S POV“Fibi, Alpha King Diego was just here! He is looking for you!” Mother informed me urgently in a mind-link.“What? Why is he looking for me? Does he know? I hope you didn't tell him!” Panicking, I flooded her mind with my questions.“Relax, Fibi.” She tried to soothe me. “He doesn't know anything, I didn't tell him that you are going to give birth to his prince. It is not my information to give, and I respect your decision, even though you know I don't agree.”My pounding heart settled down. Truly, Mother had been very supportive of me, never forcing me to do what she thought I should do. Instead she would gently advise me. “You know, Mother, I never appreciated you for your wise decision. You didn't take me to a hospital that day because Sebastian would have easily found out that I almost took my life. He would probably have thought he was important enough that I would kill myself over him. But that's not even my business. The fact that you took me to that healer that you
ETHAN'S POVI woke up from a short nap to find Greg just smirking at me. Oh yes, I was almost always at his quarters these days. Spending even a day apart from each other felt like someone took away my air. A pity that sometimes King Diego would take him away on business for several days or even weeks. Those days were hell for me.I stretched, groaning extensively as I did. I smiled up at the man I had come to love deeply. “What?”He grinned mischievously before answering, “You know, I think you’ve gotten a bit too comfortable with my side of the bed.”That's right, he used to insist on sleeping on the outer portion because it made him feel free, but I loved that part of the bed too! He gradually left it to me, and now, that side belonged to me. I feigned innocence. “What are you talking about? I’m just spreading out to make sure we have enough room.”He chuckled and said, “Uh-huh, sure. You’ve practically claimed the whole thing, both my preferred side and the center. I’m just here f
MANDY'S POVSeething through my teeth, I dragged the door open. Something caught my eyes on the floor where the door had been covering before.I bent my knees cautiously, and picked up the piece of paper. On it were the words: “If you're ready to get rid of your rival once and for all time, meet me at the foot of the oak tree beyond the gates.” I flipped it around, there was nothing else; no name.I looked past my door, this way and that way. I didn't see anyone who could have left the note.My rival. The only person that could ever be described as my rival was Fibi. Of course I would prefer to get rid of her forever, to be sure that I would never have to worry about her again.Should I go to this person I didn't even know? I remembered Sebastian's vow to get Fibi back into his life. To think that he was ready to even defy the alpha king in order to have her for himself. Crazy. I made up my mind at once. I had to see what this mysterious fellow had to offer.I already managed to sneak
MANDY'S POV Life was going really well for me. Who knew that all Sebastian needed in order to value me, was for me to carry his seed! That bitch, Fibi, almost ruined everything for me. But I was smarter than she could ever be.I rubbed my protruding belly, recalling how outraged Sebastian had been when he found out that I told her about my pregnancy. I had put on my top grade acting skills that day. Amusement bubbled out of me as I remembered it.I had clutched my belly and widened my eyes as if they were about to pop out. The way I screamed, I'm sure he thought his pups were hurt and would be lost forever. He had stopped scolding me at once. Instead, he led me to his room to lay down and rest. The same room he never let me enter before, unless he called for me. The same room he didn't hesitate to put Fibi. I finally got to stay here as my own room too.I chuckled. I now knew exactly how to get my way with my husband. I'd been milking it since that time. I enjoyed whatever I wanted,
DIEGO'S POV FOUR MONTHS LATER “My love, my heart, my mate! I know that my actions have hurt you deeply, and I am sorry. I know you only did what you did last time, because of how I treated you.”“You don't even want to see me again or give me a chance to even explain myself. I actually left for your own good. I didn't want to add my own worrying nature to the agony you would be going through already…”Diego had had enough of Lisa's bullshit. He stopped reading when he saw that she had nothing meaningful to tell him. He squished up the annoying note she sent to him, and with a mighty yell, he propelled it out of the window. She was even trying to paint herself as a selfless goddess, claiming she abandoned him for his own good. Imagine!“Meanwhile, there's someone who didn't even experience you having your full walking ability before she found you disabled. This she-wolf I'm talking about did not run away. She stayed by you and nursed you back to health. She didn't mind that you hated
