Jade’s POV
My heart was beating so fast that it felt like it would come out of my chest. He looked at me, which made me feel uncomfortable under his prying eyes. He licked his lips before stepping closer, making me step back until there was no more space left.
“You now belong to me, darling; you don’t have to be scared around me anymore.” I sobbed, knowing that there was no way out of this place.
“Stop crying, baby girl,” he said in a low voice, making me stop. And in that moment I knew I had to carry out the plan if I wanted to stay alive and take revenge on Stormy and my stepdad.
“Take her to the car,” Eduardo ordered. One of his men pulled me outside where the car was. “Let me go!” I screamed out of frustration and thrashed around, but his grip was tight.
He pushed me inside the car and then zoomed off. One thing I knew was that I was going to escape no matter what, and when I do, I’m not going to spare Stormy and his father.
The car finally came to a halt in front of a mansion. It was the most beautiful building on the estate. I was asked to get out of the car while two girls welcomed me.
“This way, please." I was led to a large hall in the building where all the other new slaves were. “This is where all the slaves assemble when the master wants to pick his personal maid.”
“I’m Julia, the current personal maid of the master.” I wondered what we would do as the boss's bedmaid when Julia spoke again.
“You have to please the master for the week.” A whole week? I whispered to myself, shocked. And then a young guy walked into the hall. He was handsome and didn’t have a cold expression on his face.
“I’m Lorenzo, the master’s cousin and assistant, and your work here is quite easy,” he said. “You girls are to do the chores and take proper care of the master and assistant master too,” he smiled.
“Julia will show you all to your quarters.” He said it briefly after giving all the rules. We were all divided into different rooms. I was put in a room where four girls were.
They all laid on their beds, but I noticed one girl staring at me continuously. She looked familiar, but she kept trying to hide her face. It became so suspicious that I had to walk up to her.
"Hi, I’m Jade,” I said, but she ignored me. “You must be one of the new girls," she ignored once again.
Just when I was about to leave, she raised her face, and when I looked at her, I was shocked to the core. It was my best friend, Eloise; she even had a scar on her face and bruises all over her body.
“What happened to you, Eloise? Why are you here too?” I asked her as tears welled up in my eyes. But she didn’t say anything to me; I embraced her and tried to make her stop crying.
My eyes widened in horror as I took in my friend's battered face and bruised body. "We'll get through this together, Eloise. I promise," I said, hugging her tightly again.
As we held each other, I knew I had to kill this man if it meant getting our freedom. I couldn't give up, no matter how scared or hurt I was. Hours passed, and we slept off in each other’s arms after catching up on so many things.
But I was jolted awake in the quiet of the night by the creaking sound of our room door opening. Everyone else was asleep; my heart raced as I heard the voice of the head maid, cold and commanding.
“Jade, you’ve been summoned by the master. Follow me now.” A chill ran down my spine. It was time to carry out my plan.
I glanced at Eloise, still asleep, blissfully unaware of the danger I was getting into. I knew this was my only chance to change my fate, and I couldn't let it slip away. I took a deep breath, hoping everything would go according to my plan.
“The master wants you clean and make sure you come out smelling like vanilla,” she said, gesturing to the most luxurious bathroom I had ever seen.
“Don’t keep the master waiting and put on that dress when you’re done." And with that, she left. Not wanting to keep Eduardo waiting, I quickly reached for the vanilla-scented body wash.
And in no time, I emerged from the shower, feeling as refreshed as a newborn baby. After drying off, I slipped on the white gown, revealing almost all parts of my body.
But I didn’t care; my mind was focused on executing my plan. I followed Julia up to Eduardo’s room, my heart pounding in my chest. But as soon as I stepped inside, the confidence I had boasted about moments ago vanished, replaced by fear.
Eduardo’s presence was commanding, and I stood there, my legs trembling beneath me. He pressed his body against mine, making me gasp when I felt him. "Please," the word slipped out from my mouth.
He cupped my cheeks in his hands before whispering. “Strip Jade.” My eyes widened as I heard his words, which made me freeze in place. I knew this was going to happen, but I felt more scared than ever.
“I’m not going to repeat myself, Jade,” he commanded, his anger evident in his tone. “Don’t let me do it for you.” He snapped. His gaze was fixed on me as I slowly slid the dress down my body, standing naked under his preying eyes.
I wasn’t ready to disobey him any further. He let out a growl, examining my body. I gasped as he stroked my erect nipple with his thumb, which he had carefully placed in my mouth, leaving it moist.
He leaned in and kissed me slowly; his breath reeked of alcohol. I was disgusted by everything he did to my body. This man was old enough to be my father, and yet all he wanted to do was fuck me.
Before I knew what was happening, I felt his hand grab my throat tight as he let out a mischievous grin like he enjoyed it. I gasped for air as I struggled against his grip.
“Stay still, Jade; that’s how I like it, and trust me, you’d love it too,” he growled. This man was clearly a pervert, and as if that was not enough, he made me face the wall before covering my eyes with a piece of cloth.
Something about him was terrifying, and I couldn’t even fight a man as huge as he was. He tied my hands also, and the next thing I found myself aggressively pushed to the bed.
This man wasn’t just going to have sex with me; he wanted to rape me, and I wasn’t going to let that happen. I felt his hands moving all over my body as I lay there struggling with him. “I love them, fiesty,” he whispered.
I knew I had to free myself, and with a swift movement, I unexpectedly unbuckled the cuffs, removed the bind from my eyes, and kicked him hard, which sent him flying to the ground.
I quickly grabbed the gun that was on the table, pointing it towards him. "Ahhh,” he groaned as he tried to get up from the floor. “Don’t come close to me or I’ll shoot you,” I said, my hands trembling.
“And what makes you think you can shoot me?” he growled, his eyes red. “I’m not joking, Eduardo; I’ll kill you if you fucking come close to me,” I yelled. He laughed out loud like I cracked a joke.
This was my chance to carry out the plan, and any slip could be my end, but Eduardo was clearly a smart man, and I didn’t want to kill him; I didn’t want to be a murderer.
“Please just let me and my friend go." I begged, tears welling up in my eyes. He bit his lower lip, moving towards my direction. “I know you won’t shoot me, Jade,” he smiled.
And with a twinkle of an eye, he grabbed my hand while I was still holding the gun, and when he noticed I wouldn’t let go, he grabbed my throat with his other hand, pushing me to the wall.
“You’ll regret ever doing this, Jade,” he said, and as he raised his hand to hit me, he paused all of a sudden before looking down at his shirt. My eyes followed his, and what I saw made me freeze.
Eduardo was bleeding!
Jade’s POV Everything happened so fast. I didn’t mean to shoot him, but I had already pulled the trigger, and his right hand was still on mine when he tried to hit me. Eduardo had mistakenly shot himself! No..no..no I stepped back as I watched Eduardo fall to the ground, clutching his stomach covered in blood. The gun was a silent pistol, and clearly no one in the villa heard the shot; if not, his guards would have rushed in here. I dropped the gun, searching for my dress. I slipped it on before moving towards Eduardo, who had already passed out. “Please wake up,” I shook him slightly, even when I knew what it was. The only solution now was to escape. Without thinking twice, I ran out of the room with my dress, which was stained with Eduardo’s blood after I touched him. The villa was eerily empty and quite without any single guards in sight. Panic surged through me as I thought of my friend Eloise; this was our chance to escape. As I hurried towards the room where we had been kep
Jackson’s POV ~A job not so well done.~ “I can’t believe he is dead!” Lorenzo whispered inaudibly, his face crinkled with concern and fear. Meanwhile, my gaze remained on the person who truly mattered. The petite woman standing before me, her bloody dress awkwardly hidden by my T-shirt. Jade was her name, and she was the angel sent from above to help get the job done.I wouldn't have imagined it would be so easy to get rid of him. I mean my father; my men didn't even need to rush in and kill him off as planned. All it took was one beautiful lady who looked innocent and inexperienced to get the job done.I had always thought of women as weak, fragile, and defenceless, just like my mother; maybe the only weapon they had was their mouth and vagina, but Jade was different. She was a mystery that I was willing to unravel soon enough. I could feel in my bones that she was going to be of great use to me and my operation; there was no way in hell I would let her out of my sight; she was ind
Jade’s POV~Beautiful disaster.~“Let me go!” I yelled as the guards threw me into the quietly dark room.“Be quiet or I will kill you,” one of the men said. He had a big scar across his face that scared me early. He spat at me before leaving me alone in this cold room. They all think I killed Eduardo, and I wouldn't blame them; I was their prime suspect. I was the girl wearing a dress stained with his blood. I leaned against the wall in agitation as I began to reminisce on what had happened at Eduardo's. Even though it happened so fast, the sound of the gunshot still echoed in my head like a megaphone, reminding me of the dreadful mistake I had made. I only wanted to push him away. Just create space so he could be away from me, so he wouldn't move any closer or get in between my pants. But then the site I made was reaching out for the gun, holding it. Damn, my fingerprint was on it. And the gun just went off. One moment it was in my possession, my finger scratching the trigger, re
Jackson’s POV~Is the game still on?~Eduardo is alive. Lorenzo’s words echoed in my head continuously like a broken record. How could he survive such a close-range shot? He was always so lucky; maybe the bad ones never die, and my tormentor, the man I had prayed to be six feet under the ground, would still walk the face of the earth after all the horrible things he had done.I felt a surge of anger simmering underneath my skin, making me furious and restless. I slammed my fist against the wall with a loud thud that made a loud smack that echoed in the room. How dare he? After all the horrible things he had done to me, how dare he survive? He deserved to be dead; no, he deserved to be tortured, starved for days, and beaten to death! He deserved all that and more. I paced the room, feeling the weight of worry descend on my shoulders. Thousands of thoughts flew through my head, and I began to think of my next plan. I need to make sure I eliminate him for good. I peeled the pajamas of
Jade’s POV~I was done for.~“It's such a beautiful dress,” I muttered under my breath, standing in front of a full-sized mirror. Admiring the way the dress hugged my curves. Accentuating my broad hips and slim waist. The blush pink gown felt like it was made for me the moment I slipped it on. Even though I looked like an outdated Disney princess who had lost her prince charming on her way to Doomdooma. I was still grateful for a change of clothing. It was better than the bloodstained dress. My finger smoothed the delicate net fabric; it swirled around my legs. The softness of the texture almost mocked the uneasiness that grew in me.Did I deserve this?I could feel the imposter syndrome creeping in. like when I was offered a cup of coffee at the cafe. I almost felt like it was a mistake and he mistook me for another person. Of course, I didn’t choose to be given this gown. It was given to me out of Jackson's free will. It was laid on the bed as if it were some kind of peace offerin
Jackson’s POV~A new chance~Even if he manages to survive the coma. He will never be able to walk or speak again. The doctor's words echoed in my head as I made my way to the ward Eduardo was in.The white lights buzzed faintly, casting an eerie glow over the hall. I was excited about this news. Eduardo would live, but the life he’d have now wouldn't be much; it wouldn't be the same.He won't be able to harm anyone else, and I would finally be the leader of the Mafia, the don. This thought felt so heavy in my chest as I finally stepped into the ward where Lorenzo was waiting, still holding onto Eduardo's hand like a retard. When I locked the door softly behind me, Lorenzo looked up at me from where he was sitting at Eduardo's side. His eyes were red and swollen; I could tell he had been crying ever since. His eyes searched mine for answers. What a pathetic loser! Wasn't he tired of doing Eduardo's dirty job? I sighed and ran a hand through my hair, preparing myself for what I was ab
Jade’s POV~Sad night~If you aren't careful, you might end up like Don. Eloise's words rang like a church bell in my ears as I stood alone all by myself in the dim passage. She had advised me to be careful and tread cautiously and carefully. Was it as bad as she made it seem?Eduardo was dead, which was a good thing; I wouldn't have to be worried about getting raped by a man old enough to be my father. But was I going from the frying pan to the fire? Was Jackson any different from his father? He appeared nice and spoke to me nicely; he even defended me back there, but was he who he claimed to be?Eloise's warning only left me more unsettled. Perhaps she was right. I didn't need to be schooled or lectured about how dangerous Jackson was; after all, he tried to assassinate his father. No matter how terrible someone's actions are, only a person capable of murder can bring themselves to end another person's life. I saw the way the people grew quiet when he entered. His presence seemed
Jackson’s POVWho was looking for me?I barely even had visitors at all; Eduardo was the one with lots of rich friends who only thrived on people's sadness and pain. He was a wealthy socialite while I was his lapdog; at least that was what I pretended to be while I learnt things from him.The only good thing he gained from my mother was me, someone to inherit his properties because he wanted to preserve his family name. That was the kind of man he was.As I descended the stairs, Lorenzo followed me closely; I could hear the faint echo of our footsteps resounding in the hallway. The alluring aroma of freshly baked bread wafted through the air, making my mouth water and teasing my senses—my stomach also growled with hunger.I hadn't eaten any solid meal since my father's accident; people needed to be convinced that I was truly sad about his attack and would do anything to find whoever did this to him. It was as though my father was specific about the maidens he brought into the mansio
Jade’s POV“Let me go!” I managed to say it, but the words barely escaped my lips. I didn't know how long I had been down here, but it seemed like decades. My cheek still throbbed with a fiery sting, a painful reminder of the punch I had received from those rascals. My nose was probably broken by now. They kept asking me to tell them things about Jackson, but I knew nothing. Even if I knew anything, I wouldn't betray Jackson; he has done nothing but be good to me.I ignored the gnawing hunger in my stomach; all I could think of was a way to escape this place. My wrists ached from the tightness of the drops and the way they dug into my delicate skin. And my head pounded from whatever they had used to knock me out earlier at the ballroom. The damp basement smelled of decay and rust, it was pitch black now, and the only light came from the tiny opening of the door. Shadows danced along the walls, indicating that I wasn't alone. These men weren't finished with me. This strange woman, who
Jackson’s POVJade was missing; they had taken her, and it was too late for me—I couldn’t save her. I had spent almost an hour searching every nook and cranny of the room, but there was no sight of her.I decided to step out of the ballroom, thinking that whoever took her must have transported her to another location for reasons only known to them. But the moment I walked out, I knew something was wrong. It was unusually quiet, and I could still hear the faint music from inside the ballroom, accompanied by rich laughter echoing off the walls. But none of it mattered to me. I needed to find Jade, and I won't rest until I do. Since Jade disappeared, it felt like a piece of me had left too. She was my better half, and now I know that I was foolish to let her out of my sight, especially after losing her. As I passed a certain route, people tried to stop me, shake hands with me.And I exchanged fake pleasantries pretending like they cared about anything that happened in my life when I wa
Jade’s POVI rubbed my aching shoulders, rolling them subconsciously, trying to regulate the pain, but I couldn't massage it properly because my wrist was attached to a rope. The pain I felt at the back of my head was unbearable; it was like I was knocked out by someone so they could take me to this isolated underground prison. What did I do to these people? Why do they despise me so much? I felt it again, the sharp, throbbing pain pulsing at the back of my head. Had they used a hammer to knock me out? Was I bleeding because it seemed like it? I tried to yank out of the ropes binding me, but it appeared a little tighter than it looked.Whoever did this wanted me here; this was no mistake! Someone hated the fact that I was living. Was it my father or Stormy? He had seen me at the ballroom earlier, and the expression on his face was shocking. Like he had just seen a ghost or a zombie out of an apocalypse. I sneezed twice, the latter louder than the former. The air was dusty and damp.
Jackson’s POVTonight, the ballroom buzzed with powerful men and women dressed in expensive clothes laughing behind designers' glasses as deals were sealed. On a low, the place wasn't loud, and most people spoke in hushed tones. The light from the chandeliers reflected on the room, casting a glow of many colours on their gloomy faces. I cannot comprehend the sadness experienced by every successful person; do they truly lack everything they ever desired?Or were they not satisfied with what they had? Of course, we humans were naturally insatiable, and when one need ends, another begins, so I wouldn't blame them for wanting more, but none of it mattered.Jade wasn't here yet; that scared me. I looked around before glancing down at my watch, and a frown plastered on my worried face. She was too long in there; something wasn't right. I could feel it in my bones. My instincts never failed me, the same instincts that had kept me alone in this world of hate and betrayal. I had learnt to r
Jade’s POV“I want you to be my wife.”Those words sounded unreal; never have I ever imagined that one of the most powerful men in Rome would ask me to be his wife.I blinked at Jackson; my breath was shaky, his words still echoed in my mind, each syllable sounding too good to be true. Was it a good idea to marry him? For once I've never thought about the possibility of being his wife. Jackson was powerful, loving, and ruthless. His proposal—if I could even call it that—felt more like an order wrapped in a gift pack of velvet promise. The don always got what he wanted, so who was I to object? But then what I felt for him was complicated; I'm still a young girl trying to figure out a part for myself. I'm sorry, sir, she must have seen the unsure look in my eyes because he moved closer and leaned in.Pressing a soft kiss to my forehead like he always did, but this time it was intentional. It was different; it had more effect than his words, and I wanted to kiss him on the lips now.“I'
Jackson’s POV I sat behind the musty old desk; the smoke from the fat tobacco wrapped in between my index finger and third finger filled the air. Life was good when you had the right people around you.And once again, I was grateful I didn't lose Jade; that would have shattered me, and I would have killed Julia because she had no reason to live to suffer the consequences of her actions.Having Jade by my side, within my reach, made me realise how much I loved her. I melted the cigarette on the ashtray and took a sip from the half-empty glass of whisky on the table.I didn't want to get drunk today; I needed to be sober so I could keep my eyes on the happenings of the family. It was my duty to do that now. I leaned my back against the plush leather chair. The air felt heavier than usual, like some unforeseen circumstances were hovering in the atmosphere, something dark. I crossed my arms on my chest as I slowly dragged the cigarette. When I heard a light knock on the door, Scar peeke
Eloise’s POV“We can't do this, Lorenzo!” I said, looking into his eyes, my fist clenched; I was angry and misunderstood. No matter how hard it is to prove myself, I'll never be taken seriously.Lorenzo stood in front of me, his presence condescending, but I didn't care. His arms crossed on his chest, his grey eyes flickered onto his mind with anger. We hadn't been on good terms these past few days, and the fault was mine. He wasn't what I needed; he was merely a distraction. Now, I was getting bored of this game, and I needed to act fast.“Are you speaking to me in that manner?” he asked in a harsh tone. “I'm sick of you trying to control my life! Leave the hell alone, Enzo.”“I'm not trying to control your life; I'm just...” He pauses, and then his voice drops to a low tone. “You know what, just do what you want, Eloise; you are always fond of walking away from things; that's what you do.”“Think whatever you want, Enzo; I'm done with this conversation,” I snarled, breathing a littl
Jade’s POVI survived hell once again. The wind is blowing hard, and the atmosphere is cool; the perfect weather for a good sleep, but I can't seem to find sleep.Sleep was far from me. I lay on this bed, my body aching from my falling down the stairs. My room was bathed in warm red light, the perfect illumination I need right now. My head was pounding, and bright light would only intensify my pain. I swallowed hard, the stale air did nothing to help the nausea that was growing in my stomach. Was it because I had just survived death or was I simply hungry?Maybe it was the latter; I don't know. Every movement I made, even the slightest, a dull throb of pain erupted throughout my ribs, a reminder that I needed to get enough rest if I was ever going to surge the night.Maybe I should relax and allow my mind to wander. I initially hated that I easily trusted her; after all, she was the reason I was in this horrible condition. I loathed that I trusted anyone so readily. That was my flaw.
Jackson’s POV Julia began to scream like a psychopath, thrashing against the guard's grip, her desperate cries filling the room, making my stomach boil with rage. If she knew I only tried to control myself from breaking the door open, hoping to resolve this peacefully. She wouldn't be here saying trash. The only reason why I was being peaceful right now was because the doctor said the poison had a cure and only Julia was in control of it. She had everything calculated; during the early morning, she came to his quarter to take the last antidote so no one could harm Jade. Right now all I needed to do was to play smart and fast because Jade needed that antidote as soon as possible.“No, I understand that you hate me for punishing Jade, but you don't love her, Jackson; she jinxed you. You love me, remember that night at the dining, how you made sweet love to me.” She wailed, her voice cracking as she fought to free herself.I never imagined that this day would come. A maiden being obses
