Miro clenched his fists tightly in his palm from where he was seated on his desk as he listened to the other coworkers talk shit about Kayla. He knew how heartbroken she would be if she heard everything they were saying about her.

Kayla had always been fragile even though she put up a confident front that she could never maintain in front of her father…not her father, the man who claimed to be her father.

Miro hated how they talked about her as if she didn’t belong there when she was better than most of them. He hated how she had let every word from their nasty mouth make her feel lesser each day.
