My head hurts.

That was the first thing that registered as I blinked awake. Then other things registered. First, I was on the floor, the air smelled strange, and I could see gates in front of me through my hazy vision.

This little information had me sitting up straight faster than lightning. This was not my home; I didn’t remember going home after work. I recalled stepping out of the club and confronting those drunk men, but after that, nothing else registered.

I rubbed my eyes harshly to clear my vision and fear gripped me when I looked around and saw myself in a holding cell. This was not good. Could I have been figured out already? Did Issa say something to her supposed brother?

My breathing picked up as I began to panic. Beads of sweat formed on my forehead as I scrambled to my feet and ran towards the locked gate of the holding cell.

“Let me out” I screamed “Someone please help me. Let me out, please” I yelled, as tears streamed down my face.
