The wedding had come to a close, and Davina changed into more comfortable attire, ready to unwind after the long day. A maid arrived and delivered the news that she and Xavier were needed in the living room. Davina followed the maid, finding Xavier, her newlywed husband, and their mothers waiting for them.

Xavier's mother spoke with a serious tone, "We called you both here to inform you that we are traveling to England, and we want you two to live together in peace and harmony." Davina's mother nodded in agreement.

Curious, Davina asked, "When are you leaving, and when will you be back?"

"We are leaving tomorrow, and we don't know when we'll be back, but it won't be long," her mother replied.

"While we're gone, we don't want any disagreements. We intentionally decided to leave to give you space to get used to each other," Xavier's mother added.

Davina's mother chimed in, "Goodnight," and they both left the room, leaving Davina and Xavier alone.

With the mothers gone, Xavier addressed Davina, his tone commanding and authoritative. "Before you leave, I want you to know that this is my house, and you will abide by my rules. Is that clear?"

Davina couldn't help but laugh at his audacity. "Have you forgotten that you are my husband? Whatever belongs to you is automatically mine too. Besides, I don't care about your so-called rules. I'll do as I please without your permission."

Xavier's anger flared, and he glared at her before storming out of the room, leaving Davina feeling defiant and uncertain about the future they were about to face together.

The wedding night was tense. They slept on opposite sides of the bed, their backs turned to each other. It was as if an invisible wall separated them, built on years of resentment and misunderstandings.

************************

Morning arrived, and Xavier was the first to rise. Davina watched as he dressed in silence, both of them aware of the awkward reality of their new life together. It was clear that neither was eager to engage in conversation.

In the kitchen, Davina found Xavier attempting to make breakfast. The sight amused her, and she couldn't help but stifle a laugh.

"What are you doing?" she asked, teasing him about his culinary endeavors.

Xavier turned to her, annoyance clear on his face. "I'm trying to make breakfast. Is that a problem?"

Davina decided to playfully taunt him. "Well, judging by the state of the kitchen, it seems like it might be."

Xavier's face reddened as he slammed a pan onto the stove. "Fine, if you think you can do better, be my guest."

Accepting his challenge, Davina grabbed a spatula and attempted to flip a pancake, but it ended up flying across the kitchen. Xavier burst into laughter, further fueling her irritation.

"See, Xavier, cooking isn't as easy as it looks," she teased.

He chuckled, seemingly undisturbed by her laughter. "At least I didn't turn the kitchen into a war zone."

Davina couldn't believe his audacity. "You're impossible."

Xavier responded with a cold, humorless laugh. "Believe me, the feeling is mutual."

Their playful banter soon escalated into a heated competition in the kitchen, each of them trying to outdo the other. The kitchen turned into a battleground, and by the time they finished, it was in shambles, and their breakfast was far from appetizing.

Sitting down to eat their culinary mishap, an awkward silence hung in the air. The tension between them was palpable, and it seemed like their mutual dislike had only deepened overnight.

Xavier's perspective on the situation was equally strained. The breakfast showdown had left their relationship in ruins, mirroring the chaos they felt within. As they sat at the table, picking at their food, the atmosphere was heavy with animosity. Their mutual antipathy seemed to have grown overnight, setting the stage for a challenging journey ahead.

Xavier and Davina began to argue over paint colour and as Xavier and Davina continued their entertaining yet futile paint color dispute, Mel, Xavier's ex-girlfriend, had embarked on a mission of her own. She was determined to confront Xavier about their unresolved issues, and she chose to do so with a surprise visit to his house while he was at work.

Mel stood before the front door, hesitating for a moment. She knocked gently, but there was no response. To her surprise, the door was unlocked. Her curiosity got the better of her, and she entered cautiously, calling out Xavier's name.

From somewhere inside the house, Davina's voice echoed. It was clear that Mel had unintentionally stumbled into the midst of an ongoing argument. She wasn't aware that Xavier had gotten married, and she certainly didn't want to int the midst of their paint color disagreement, Xavier and Davina found themselves engaged in an absurd battle of words. Xavier passionately championed navy blue, while Davina fervently defended beige. Their argument had escalated to such an extent that it felt more like a theatrical performance than a serious dispute.

Xavier made grand gestures, dramatically pointing at paint swatches spread out on the coffee table. "Davina, you just don't understand. Navy blue is the epitome of sophistication. It's bold, elegant, and timeless."

Davina, arms crossed defiantly, scoffed at his theatrics. "Sophistication, Xavier? It's just a color! Beige is warm and inviting. Navy blue will make the room look like a haunted mansion."

The back-and-forth continued with exaggerated gestures and sarcastic quips, leaving them both entrenched in their positions. It was as if they were characters in a comedy sketch, and the absurdity of the situation was not lost on them.

Amidst this colorful dispute, Xavier's phone buzzed with a message from Mel, his ex-girlfriend. However, he chose to ignore it for the time being, preferring to focus on the paint color argument that had taken center stage in their lives.

From somewhere inside the house, Davina's voice echoed. It was clear that Mel had unintentionally stumbled into the midst of an ongoing argument. She wasn't aware that Xavier had gotten married, and she certainly didn't want to intrude, but her need for answers outweighed her concerns.

Davina, still wearing her boxing gloves from a previous encounter, must have heard Mel's voice. She came charging into the living room, her eyes wide and filled with suspicion. Pointing at Mel, she confronted her with an accusatory tone, "Who are you, and what are you doing in our house?"

Mel stammered, taken aback by the unexpected confrontation. "I-I'm looking for Xavier. Is he home?"

Just then, Xavier, who had been engaged in the absurd paint color dispute with Davina, entered the living room. He froze when he saw Mel and the chaos that had unfolded.

"Davina, it's okay," he said, trying to defuse the situation. "This is Mel, my ex-girlfriend. Mel, meet Davina, my wife."

Davina raised an eyebrow, her expression shifting from suspicion to curiosity. "Ex-girlfriend, huh?"

Mel attempted to explain, "Xavier, we really need to talk."

But before she could say more, Davina's playful side emerged. With a mischievous grin, she removed one of her boxing gloves and flexed her fingers menacingly.

"Talk? Well, let's see if you can talk after this!" Davina exclaimed, launching into a flurry of playful boxing moves, her wild energy turning into a comical display of boxing prowess.

Mel yelped and instinctively ducked, narrowly avoiding Davina's playful punches. Xavier couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation. It seemed that even unexpected visitors were not safe from the chaos that often engulfed their home.
