“What happened?!” I heard Emily breathe as I reached the car, I stumbled and rested on the door, in a split moment she was at my side but nothing could save me from the storm that had begun to brew inside of me.

I had seen him. I had seen the man who ruined my life and completely shattered my dreams, The man who tore away the inky father figure I had and made my stepsister the monster she was.

A tear rolled down my cheek but I wiped it away and locked eyes with Emilia’s large orbs, “I saw him.” I whispered. “I saw the man who murdered my father and this time, now that I know that he is in Los Angeles, I will make him pay,” I promised. “By book or by crook,” I added and got into the car.

“But where are we going?” I heard Emilia ask when I started the engine, I licked my lips.

“We’re going to meet with the investigator, Mr. Edward,” I informed her and kept my eyes on the road.
