“I’m glad you are doing better,” I spoke and locked eyes with Charlotte. The woman’s eyes seemed worn out and her skin was a bit pale but had more color than I had remembered. The machines she had been connected to were taken off and her brown hair sat stiffly on her shoulders

I watched as she pursed her lips into a straight line before she sighed deeply. “How are you doing?” She asked.

I raised an eyebrow at her question. I knew that I had just been discharged from a hospital but I was not the one who had been hit multiple times and assaulted. “I should be asking you that question, I am not the one tied to a hospital bed.” I quipped and pulled a chair out of nowhere,

“Besides, I doing perfectly fine, I am glad you are okay, Charlotte, all of us missed you. Especially Leonardo.” I added softly.

The woman smiled tiredly. “What about Rye’s trail? How are the preparations going? And Tyler?” She questioned and I could see the spark of curiosity in her brown eyes.
