Berrilyl's POV

His eyes gleamed with malice as he watched me dance, my anger fueling every step. "Twist that waist of yours better. Hypocrite," he said, but I didn't obey him. He gave me a death stare, and My legs trembled beneath me, but I forced myself to stand tall, refusing to give him the satisfactory "I see, you're still as strong-willed as before, but that won't be good for you if you want to live in less torture" he said.

I started twisting and turning in all ways I could when he talked, I knew he would not only torture me but also my dead husband, who didn't do anything to him.

"Good girl", he said, laughing, and then he closed his eyes, and it seemed like he was focusing on the mu, sic, and then little by little, the cunning look on his face was replaced with an angered one. I continued dancing nonstop even though I thought of stopping since he closed his eyes.

"Get out!" He shouted, and I looked around to be certain I was the one he was talking to. It didn't seem like he wa

Berrilyl's POVI shrieked at the top of my lungs as the whip seared my skin, leaving an instant crimson mark. "Say you're the slave ten times, and this will ease," he sneered, landing another lash. "If you say it well, I might even stop." I glared at him with hatred, and another lash struck me. "Just acknowledge that you're the slave and I'm not, and you might be pardoned," he taunted. As he raised the whip again, I relented. "Stop! Fine, I'll say it." He sneered, "Since you didn't agree quickly, say you're the slave and I'm not fifteen times. Any delay will increase your lashes and how long you must repeat those words."I took a deep breath and spat out the words, "You're the slave! And I'm not." A sly smile spread across my face. Instead of stopping, he whipped me again. I screamed in agony, my voice shaking but I was satisfied as I said, "Isn't that what you said I should say? You can't even keep your word"Just as Cain raised his hand to deliver another lash, a firm grip restraine

  • FATED TO UNWANTED MATE    Chapter 10

Berrilyl's POVAfter my wounds fully healed, I resumed my duties, desperately hoping for a reprieve. As the sun dipped below the horizon, we were served a meagre ration of stale food and water. The food we were given was so little compared to the backbreaking labour we endured, but at least there was enough water to quench our thirst. I opted to forgo the stale food, giving my portion to Liah instead since I didn't like it one bit and the fact that I couldn't eat even if I wanted to since my output was very little. My stomach growled in protest as the sight of the unappetizing food passing me by was almost too much to bear. The thought of succumbing to hunger and losing my dignity was revolting. Liah's words echoed in my mind: soon, I'd be so ravenous that I'd disregard the taste and quality of food, just to fill my stomach. The prospect terrified me, and I knew I had to escape this nightmare before it was too late. The thought of becoming a mindless, fearful minion, blindly following

  • FATED TO UNWANTED MATE    Chapter 11

Berrilyl's POVThe thought of marrying the Alpha was unbearable. It would be a never-ending nightmare, as I didn't harbour even a shred of love for him. How could he possibly expect me to accept this union, especially after he brutally took the life of the person I loved, right before my eyes? The pain and anger still lingered, making the prospect of marrying him utterly repulsive. The idea of having any involvement with Cage was abhorrent to me. We shared a deep-seated hatred for each other, so it beggared belief that he would suddenly want to marry me, a lowly slave, and make me his wife. I remembered Liah's words clearly, she said he didn't like women. This revelation only strengthened my conviction that Cage's motivations for marrying me were far from pure."Excuse me, please I need to see the Alpha," I requested, turning to the assistant. His expression remained impassive as he replied,"Sorry, I'm afraid that's not possible," he said, and I went back.Undeterred, I returned to

  • FATED TO UNWANTED MATE    Chapter 12

Berrilyl's POVHis appearance was unexpected and I was embarrassed being caught doing something like that. I secretly put my hand on my lips to be sure I didn't drool for him. He wasn't worth it. A dignified princess like me could possibly not drool for someone like him.I felt like shutting out my feelings at that moment. I started asking myself why I came to his chambers in the first place before I remembered that it was about the forced wedding between the both of us."You've been shouting that you want to see me and I'm here right now so talk," he said arrogantly. I slowly turned to face him and I was so annoyed with myself because part of me wished that he was shirtless like the other day but he was fully clothed and I was secretly disappointed but I knew it was better that way I would never be able to focus on the reason I came with those outstanding abs of his in display."Why do you want to marry me? You have no interest in women so why do you want to marry me? It's not that y

  • FATED TO UNWANTED MATE    Chapter 13

Cage's POV She was infuriating, and yet, she remained unchanged. Her sharp tongue, which had once cut me so deeply, still wagged with reckless abandon. This time, however, it needed to be silenced. After all she'd done to me, she had the audacity to forget, to move on, and live a life filled with laughter and joy. Meanwhile, I remained shackled to the pain and bitterness she'd left in the shadows of our past. The memories of the time we spent together still haunts me, a reminder of the torment I went through. The dangers that lurked because of one simple mistake that I regret and can never forget till this day.Shouts and screams still filled my head and she had to pay for what she had done and what she'd caused. Every atom of the incident had be be relieved by her. It was an unforgettable experience yet she chose to forget. How much more insolent and despicable could she be. I looked at her as she fell down in pain after I slapped her but still it was nothing at all compared to t

  • FATED TO UNWANTED MATE    Chapter 14

Berrilyl's POVI was taken to a bath and given nice clothes to wear again like they did before. I just still couldn't believe the fact that my brother just believed me like that. He knew how much I loved Owens and how much Owens loved me too. At least he should have suspected that something was wrong. Owens wasn't the kind of person that cheats on someone, he loved me much and was ready to do anything to make me happy. But thanks to my stupidity, I formed a quite captivating story making Owens a very bad man, a man who was a wolf in sheep's clothing which was quite convincing but no matter what Owens was his friend, and they sometimes dined together even though they were polar opposites in behavior. They had a bond, they were so close but I guessed it didn't matter anymore since Owens was dead. The main matter at hand was how to make sure my brother didn't come to the forced wedding. If he comes then our pack would be doomed because of me. It was the last thing I wanted to happen. In

  • FATED TO UNWANTED MATE    Chapter 15

Berrilyl's POVHe got himself a bottle of wine and watched as I was beaten. I was the one who didn't see what was coming. It was so unbelievable that I told him that there was no way that was possible. I couldn't have told him. I didn't know what type of witchcraft he was using but he was always so accurate and it made me wonder if we truly had a past. When he was replaying the recorded audio I thought it was to get me angry. I didn't know that it was a trap, a punishment for trying to ruin his plans. I thought I would be able to get my brother to save me with that.I knew there was no way I would be able to say the exact words I said in the same way but I tried my best and was beaten mercilessly. I kept failing and kept receiving lashes while he enjoyed looking at me in pain. He laughed anytime I screamed. If he didn't say they should stop the lashes were sure to go on forever. It was very painful but slowly the intensity with which I was whipped reduced. I looked at Jake and guesse

  • FATED TO UNWANTED MATE    Chapter 16

Berrilyl's POVI stepped into the room with trepidation, my heart racing as I scanned the dimly lit space. It was just like before.Memories of that day replayed in my mind like a melody. How I was forced to dance, and so on. My gaze fell upon the table, where rows of liquor bottles stood like sentinels. I knew he was next to the table, but I deliberately avoided looking at him. The mere sight of his shirtless torso made my brain malfunction as if an inexplicable force drew me to him.I wasn't the type of girl who would become head over heels for someone based solely on their physical appearance. Behaviour mattered to me, which is why I had never been swayed by Cain, despite his chiselled physique. But Cage was different. I was helpless against the pull I felt towards him.If it were up to me, I would never have set foot in this place again. All it had ever brought me was humiliation and pain. The threats to my husband's safety, the agony of being torn from my pack and the fact that h

  • FATED TO UNWANTED MATE    Chapter 119

Cage's POVThe next day, I made a maid bring Berrilyl to my chambers. As she entered, I was relieved to see that her complexion was better. The dad's circles under her had faded, and her skin had regained some of its natural glow.I felt glad that she was finally out of being a public slave, even though it was me who turned her into one. The humility from that young mistress annoyed me and it was time to make her pay and maybe make Berrilyl hate her more. But I didn't show my relief; I remained in my usual stoic expression, not wanting to give away concern for her well-being. I had specifically ordered the kitchen not to disturb Berrilyl for a few days, and to just deliver her meals at the appropriate time. She had to gain her strength before she would be able to do anything. I wanted her to rest. What I put her through was hard, not only for her. It was also hard for me to keep her there but sometimes I convinced myself that she deserved it. As u looked at her, I could see the ex

  • FATED TO UNWANTED MATE    Chapter 118

Cage's POVI was sitting in my room, lost in thought when a guard burst in. His was distorted, and I could tell from his exasperation that he had run all the way here."Sir, Beta Milano and his group have returned", he said, but his voice was laced with a sense of urgency that baffled me."What is it?" I asked, my mind already racing with possibilities; I hope it wasn't true."Sir, he and his group are injured" the guard replied, his voice tight with concern. "They're in the infirmary"I didn't hesitate. I rushed to the infirmary with my heart pounding in my chest. I just hoped that whatever happened wasn't so severe and he was still okay. When I arrived, I was met with a scene of chaos. Most of the warriors were injured, some more seriously than the others, but I didn't see any dead bodies, so I was thankful, although I wasn't sure.Milano himself was lying on a bed, his face pale and drawn. His injuries and those of other warriors were been taken care of.I rushed to his side, my mi

  • FATED TO UNWANTED MATE    Chapter 117

Berrilyl's POVI watched him go, storming off heavily in anger and frustration. I hesitated a moment before stepping from behind the screen of shadows. Talia stood there, her back to me, but I could see her shoulders quivering a bit."You're not even going to ask how long I've been standing there?" I said, stepping closer. My voice was calm, teasing even, but my words didn't weigh quite as much as usual.Talia didn't flinch. She didn't turn around in surprise as I had anticipated.I already knew you were there, she said in a low voice. That threw me off. Talia was never anything but sharp-tongued, always ready with either an acid comment or a glare to dismiss with. Now, however, her voice came soft and unreadable, and her face finally turned toward me. But what was surprising was tears in her eyes, swimming at the edges, threatening to spill, she kept blinking over and over again trying to push them away. For whatever reason, that expression in that pose got through. Sympathy, perhaps

  • FATED TO UNWANTED MATE    Chapter 116

Berrilyl's POVI wasn't eavesdropping not this time, anyway and I certainly wasn't trying to spy on them. Curiosity held me firmly in my hiding place, though, when Jake's voice started rising in frustration."Talia," he started, his words tight with frustration, "Why have you been avoiding me? What have I done to treat you like the monster that makes you shun me?Talia hesitated. Not seeing her face, I could sense her uneasiness at the long silence that followed. She always faltered in confrontation."It's not that, Jake," she said finally, barely above a whisper. "I'm not avoiding you because you've done anything wrong. I just don't want to. The others to misunderstand."Jake scoffed. “Misunderstand what, exactly? That we’re friends? That we’ve known each other for some time now? Is that something to be ashamed of now?”His frustration was palpable, and it wasn’t hard to see why. Jake had always been a straightforward kind of man, someone who spoke his mind without worrying about jud

  • FATED TO UNWANTED MATE    Chapter 115

Berrilyl's POV However Cage told me to freshen up and eat, telling me that I stank. And for a moment, I didn't quite understand why he would say such a thing. Did he think I smelled this badly? It wasn't as if I had a choice. I had no proper means of washing and grooming, not in that cage. But the very thought of him thinking that way, of him envisioning me in such a state, shook something within me like embarrassment I couldn't get rid of.I dragged my aching body to my room despite my weakness. I had no other choice. I couldn't let him think I was some filthy, uncaring prisoner who didn't even take care of herself. That was one thing I could control, at least personal dignity. Even if everything else was slipping through my fingers, I could still manage to freshen up, even if it took every last ounce of strength I had left.I went into the bathroom, locking the door behind me. The mirror above the sink showed a reflection I barely recognized. My face was pale, hollowed, and streake

  • FATED TO UNWANTED MATE    Chapter 114

Berrilyl's POV I had managed to survive up until that very moment despite the wounds that ravaged my body. It wasn't because of any extraordinary strength or resolve on my part. No, it was simply the small gestures of kindness from Talia that kept me going. Whenever she could, she would bring me those little buns from the kitchen. They were not much simple food in this cold, desolate place, they were everything to me. They gave me something to hold on to, a small spark of comfort in a world that had forgotten what a kind word felt like. But today… today was different. Talia wasn't able to bring any buns with her when she visited. It wasn't her fault, of course. She had tried, I knew she had. But with Grace now in charge of the kitchen, there was no way she could have sneaked anything past her. Grace had always kept a keen eye on what went in and out, especially with me. The thought of it only deepened the ache in my chest. It was as though I was being torn apart bit by bit. My wounds

  • FATED TO UNWANTED MATE    Chapter 113

Cage's POV"That's nice; at least there's some good news,", I said, and Milano looked at me with curiosity."It's just that William seems to have spoilt our plan and decided to end it as quickly as he could. Making sure that all the hard work go to waste and it kinda annoyed me. But it meant that I had to be very careful about the person I was digging about. He's got some good spies working for him in many places," I said to Milano who was initially dying of curiosity. His countenance changed a little because he also knew what it felt like for your plan to fail not even because of natural events but because of an enemy."You know. I've been thinking about this William problem recently and an idea came to my head" Milano said. And I was more than ready to listen to his suggestion."If we truly want to bring William to his knees," Milano began, his voice steady, "We need to know his strength which is obviously his connections and endless bribing schemes. If we get people to join us and

Cage's POV After finding an evidence of the Young mistress' promiscuousness, Cage didn't hesitate to have Jake post the evidence on social media. Not only would it tarnish her image, it would also make her father restless.Just as Jake was discussing with Cage, Jake received a call and at the end of the call, his face had turned gloomy. The information he just got was that, the women they had initially decided to capture had succumbed to a strange death.Cage wasn't surprised, but was frustrated. He knew it was William's doing, but there was nothing he could do. Just then, Miliano entered, and informed Cage that he had organised fifty elite warriors.Chapter 113: Cage's POV Miliano also gave a suggestion - If Cage really want to defeat William, he would need to severe his connections one after the other, so that William won't be able to find help.Cage agreed with the plan, and urged Jake to speed up the investigation against the Elder. Also, Miliano made mention of another informat

  • FATED TO UNWANTED MATE    Chapter 111

Author's POVThe throb behind his eyes was relentless, a steady drum of pain that pulsed with every heartbeat blurred the edges of vision, and made the temples seem squeezed in some invisible vice. He had hardly slept the night before, and the stress of managing the estate, the constant political pressures, and the recent troubles with Lucia had worn him down.Yet, none of that stopped him from going toward the chambers of his second wife. The ache could wait. When the messenger had burst into his study with news of her sudden illness, concern had knotted his chest. Now, while he neared her room, he heard the murmur of hushed tones and the distinct scent of herbal tinctures filled the air. With a creak, he pushed open the door. The physician was still bent over the pale, trembling figure of his second wife. She lay propped against a mound of silk cushions, her face almost ghostly. The delicate lines of discomfort had softened now, her breathing steadier.William's gaze searched her fa
