Nox comes to my aid, helping me to my feet. I allow myself to gaze upon Mabel whose body had been discarded on the floor by now.

Troy checks his bloody knuckles with indifference and frowns at the bloody stains on his purple shirt. He shrugs before looking at me. "Well, that was fun while it lasted."

Anger flares up withing me and I find myself running towards him just to get a slice of his neck but Nox holds me back with his arm around my midriff.

"You bastard!" I yell which makes Troy smile in satisfaction. All I wanted to do was wipe that stupid smirk off his face. "You know what? I'm so glad I married the man who shredded your son to pieces!"

Troy's smile slips.

"Judging by the likes of you, your son must have been the bottom scum of the earth and deserved being mailed like an animal!" I finish, panting hard.
