~ ZoraRoman was the first to rush in, following my gaze to Nox flatlining on the table, he froze. "No." He breathed. "It can't be." He whispered to himself as he approached my mate. More people tried to come in at this point, but the nurses kept them out. Gradually, with one step after the other, I moved towards Nox's still body. Something within me refused to believe it was over. They called his time of death and yet I didn't feel the pain that comes with loss. Although I could feel my bond with Nox growing faint, nonetheless, it was still there. The doctors and nurses parted ways for me with a solemn bow, giving me access to Nox's bedside. Even in death, Nox looked every bit as powerful as he was when he was alive. His scent lingered in the air as I took his hand in mine and I wasn't surprised to find it icy cold.
