GALLAHAN’S POV

Willa went back to sleep not long after we agreed to start over from scratch.

And while I immensely appreciated the positive turn of events, I also knew that it was only a matter of time before our old grievances—the numerous bloody hatchets we had agreed to bury—would come back haunting and hurting us.

But I shoved to the back of my mind, wanting to believe that it was a worry for next time, and that it was in my best interest, as well as my children’s, to just keep the peace and bask in the current moment.

So after I opened the windows to let the chilly morning air in, I laid down on the bed, sliding beneath the blanket.

“Hi, love,” I whispered near Calisto’s wolf ear. “Daddy’s here. The moon goddess listened to you, you know? I’m here now. I can’t wait to properly meet you and your sister when the two of you wake up. Don’t keep me waiting for far too long, yeah?”

As if Calisto had heard me, a small and wobbly whimper left his lips. His brows were tense and furrowed,

WILLA’S POV“Ugh. Who the fuck is it? It’s barely morning,” Gallahan grumbled, holding Calisto a tad bit tighter as if to show how unwilling he was to leave the nest.“Language,” I chided mildly, giving him a stern glare. He rolled my eyes at me and retorted, “I will use any language I want-”“Not in front of our children,” I argued. “Now… Would you mind?”I gave a pointed glance at Gillian, and Gallahan was quick to take the hint.Since we had started nesting, we could no longer leave the bed at the same time. And given how he seemed to loathe the idea of letting go of Calisto anytime soon, it fell upon me to see who it was behind the door. But just as I was about to move Gillian and hand her over to Gallahan, William’s voice resounded from the other side of the door, saying, “I hate to bother you so early in the morning, but I have to give you a few things. One of them is urgent.”“Just come inside,” I said loudly, settling back comfortably against the headboard with Gillian still c

  • FATED TO A TYRANT   MISSIVE FROM THE ALPHA KING

GALLAHAN’S POVMy eyes never strayed from Willa’s side profile as she loudly read the missive from Dad in a clear and enchanting voice.I was barely registering the words she was saying, too preoccupied in taking in the sight of her, as if I was trying to ingrain her likeness in the forefront of my mind and the back of my eyelids.“Han?” She called out as she waved the letter in front of me.“Uh, yes?” I replied dumbly as I took the damn letter from her while pretending I wasn’t heating up in embarrassment over being caught staring like a lovesick fool.“Are you going?”I blinked, not quite following our conversation. “Going where?”Willa sighed exasperatedly. “Were you even listening, Gallahan?”I grinned, my entire body relaxing as I answered, “Not really. You were too distracting.”She rolled her eyes at me, and my mind responded by traitorously flashing an image of her doing the same but out of pure pleasure I would give her.I quickly exiled the thought, mentally berating myself

  • FATED TO A TYRANT   PRETENSION

WILLA’S POVIt was so terrifyingly easy to be lulled into a sense of comfort and warmth around Gallahan. My defenses just seemed to turn to putty with just one smile, one playful remark, one damning touch. It hadn’t even been long since we agreed to start over again, and yet I was already on my way towards the forbidden and dangerous territory where a slippery slope called ‘FALLING IN LOVE’ awaited me.Heck, even the throbbing deep wound from the humiliating rejection of my blowjob seemed to cease existing whenever he so much as glanced at me.I was fucking pathetic. Was being so weak and pathetic come in a package in being bonded to one’s fated mate? Ugh!The culprit of my crisis casually sauntered out of my en suite bathroom with nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist. A smaller one hung around his neck, which he had obviously used to dry his hair.“God, I still feel like I’m about to burst from our dinner.”He patted his abdomen as if to prove his point, but it was all moot w

  • FATED TO A TYRANT   THE BRACELET AND THE SWAN

WILLA’S POVI wiped the foggy mirror clean with the palm of my hand and immediately saw how pink I actually looked.I would surely earn a raised brow over the hue that had taken over my entire face. But then I could always blame it to the steaming stream of the shower, and not to the thought that Gallahan bloody Wick jerked himself to completion in my bathroom with the scent of my personalized shower gel pervading the air.Shaking away the notion and the unholy image it brought along, I steeled myself to leave the bathroom. It was imperative that I was emotionally and mentally ready to face Gallahan again after… after…Ugh.Why did he have to do such an indelicate activity in MY bathroom?I angrily slapped my cheeks three times, worsening the pinkness of my skin. “Nothing happened. Who cares anyway? We had fucked before. So this is not a big deal.”But it kind of was.Did Gallahan get himself all hard and randy because of the artificial scent of my soap that always mingled with my own

  • FATED TO A TYRANT   RECOVERY

GALLAHAN’S POVDays bled into a week, and a single week morphed into three. Gradually, the twins began to show signs of getting better, much to our relief. The ears slowly but surely shrunk and disappeared by the end of the second week of nesting, and their cute little hands returned by the middle of the third. The fur that had sprouted on their arms eventually diminished until none was left. But nesting wasn’t as easy as I initially thought it was.Sure, it meant staying in the nest for ninety-nine percent of the time, cuddling and showering Calisto and Gillian with affection, which were both easy feats to do.But when the second week rolled in, Willa and I gradually got sick of the humdrum of our days. Our bodies desperately sought movement and nature. Our skin yearned to bask in the warmth of the morning sun, and our eyes were desperate to get a glimpse of a different view from the one we always see in our window. The longing and need to roam free outside, to greedily breathe in th

  • FATED TO A TYRANT   SIX MONTHS AGREEMENT

WILLA’S POVGallahan blinked at me twice. It seemed like he had failed to comprehend what I just said, as if my words rang foreign to his ears. His jaw ticked taut and relaxed repeatedly for a few heartbeats before he said a baffled, “What?”I shifted, moving near the end of the bed so I could have a semblance of detachment and defenses through the space between us. Then I folded and crossed my legs, settling down as comfortably as I possibly could.“Custody, Gallahan,” I said nonchalantly. “Guardianship of our children. Where they stay and who will raise them. That type of thing that parents who aren’t together discuss and agree on.”“Don’t get too cheeky with me, Willa. I know what custody is. I don’t need you to explain it to me.”“Then why do you look like I just spouted something a spiel of gibberish you couldn’t understand?”Gallahan threw his head back a little and stared at the ceiling, seemingly praying for a long thread of patience he clearly didn’t have the bone for. Then w

  • FATED TO A TYRANT   BEARING HEAVY NEWS

GALLAHAN’S POV I accepted Willa’s offer. After all, beggars couldn’t be choosers. I also saw the rationale behind the condition Willa had firmly set. I didn’t know the twins that well enough yet, and I didn’t have much experience with children in general. The decision, however, was soon met with watery eyes and quivering bottom lips. Both Gillian and Calisto, who had already fully recovered, didn’t take the news well. “But you said you were going to stay,” Gillian argued, gripping her spoon so tightly that her hand trembled. “You promised.” “You did,” Calisto chimed in from where he sat on the chair next to Gillian, his bowls of fruits and yogurt stood forgotten on the dining table. “We heard everything, Daddy. We were sleeping, but we heard you, and you promised. We know you did.” “Yes, yes,” I said placatingly. “But-” “No. You promised,” Gillian insisted, sounding completely indignant. “Y-you… You promised.” Then the first tear rolled down, followed by another and

  • FATED TO A TYRANT   LEAVE

WILLA’S POVElodie Drummond.Daughter of Alpha Wilbur Drummond and his mistress, Beatriz Blanca.I had the pleasure of knowing her when we were both sixteen. She was beautiful then. But she must’ve grown to be a breathtakingly gorgeous and exemplary lady by now.I could vividly recall her perfectly symmetrical face, her soft brown eyes, her heart-shaped lips, and her shiny blonde hair that almost looked like silver gossamer spun from the light of the moon itself… Matching such looks with her reputation of being a very smart and kind woman who founded her own booming empire of winery, there was no way a single man could ever turn her down.Unless, of course, he was a lesser man who couldn’t take a great woman. Or he was a man whose heart belonged to someone else.As for Gallahan’s case, it was obviously the latter. While he was physically bonded to me for the sake of our children, he had also found a chosen mate in Miss Banfey. But even though he had likely taken the oath of spousal w

  • FATED TO A TYRANT   TEMPER

GALLAHAN’S POVI wasn’t an empty-headed man. I was well-educated, and I held a good degree of self-awareness. But I was long aware of the fact that I had a very short temper and that I had a very abysmal control over my emotions.Heck, I had a long list of instances where I lost grip on rationality, snapped, and acted purely on rage.So really, it wasn’t so out of character for me to immediately scowl upon seeing the sight of William setting down a sleeping Gillian on the couch when I got to the bottom landing of the staircase. And it surely wasn’t atypical of me to be immediately rankled when William adjusted his stance, standing in an angle that shielded my daughter out of my view, as soon as he realized it was me.So, almost on instinct, a low rumbling sound, reminiscent of a warning growl, reverberated out of my mouth. It set off William, his pale green eyes taking on a deeper and more vibrant shade. He returned the sound I made in kind, baring his teeth as he did so.“Take a step

WILLA’S POVBOTH.We ended up doing both. And bloody hell, it was so damn good.I didn’t think I'd ever felt this sated and blissed out before. And yet, Gallahan was still trying to draw me into another round, as if he hadn’t even had half of his fill.“You’re quite insatiable, aren’t you?” I teased with a sigh as he carried me out of the bathroom after a round of shower sex.“For you? Yeah,” he answered with a smug grin, settling me down on my writing desk with nothing but my robe keeping me decently covered.Meanwhile, Gallahan only had a white towel wrapped around his waist.“You’re just too… tempting. Too… addicting,” he said softly, nosing along the line of my jaw while his hands danced dangerously along the tie of my robe.“Seriously, you need to stop,” I said, bubbling a little with laughter and pushing him away from me. “It’s already pretty late in the night. We just stepped out of the bath, and we have to eat dinner.”But Gallahan was nothing if not stubborn. So he didn’t bud

  • FATED TO A TYRANT   WOUND UP

GALLAHAN’S POVI couldn’t quite believe my ears when I detected a ring of insecurity in Willa’s voice.Incredulity. Disbelief. Fondness. Upset with myself. All of these emerged, coalesced and tangled into knots in my chest, leaving me speechless. But my silence sent the wrong signal, and I saw how Willa’s shoulders drooped and hunched as the light in her gorgeous green eyes dimmed like stars losing their shine.“Forget it,” she muttered dismissively, leaning forward to capture my mouth into another round of mind-blowing kissing.“Hey, hey,” I said as gently as I could while her lips tried to land on mine. “We have to talk about this.”“I think the humiliation could already last me a lifetime. Let’s just forget I ever said anything.”“No, Willa,” I said as firmly as I could. “I won’t let you stew on this until it eats you from the inside out. I need to set the record straight.”Willa was unwilling to return my gaze. She had set her eyes stubbornly glued on a particular spot on the left

  • FATED TO A TYRANT   GIVING IN

WILLA’S POVGallahan’s words sent a shiver down my spine, while my heart leapt into a whirlwind of emotions. Was I really going to open up and allow Gallahan in, just because Miss Banfey wasn’t actually his chosen mate and the arrangement with Elodie no longer stood?Yes.Yes, I was.Because when Gallahan insisted that I was his only mate and that I deserve to be put on the priority list, I realized that those things were what I wanted too.I wanted…No.I needed to be loved and cared for.And deep down, I wanted Gallahan.I wanted and needed him so bad that it felt visceral and raw and…Gods… I had been deprived of a whole lot all these years. I spent a good chunk of my life dedicating myself to a cause I deeply believed in, then pouring every bit of me into motherhood because the twins needed me.I was also sick and tired of being haunted by the what ifs and of soothing the ache with nothing but imagined fantasies. But here and now? Gallahan was offering me a chance to grab somethin

  • FATED TO A TYRANT   NOT JUST A MOTHER

GALLAHAN’S POVI stiffened as disappointment with Calisto bubbled in my veins. He wasn’t allowed to disrespect my mate and the very woman who carried him in the womb and birthed him to this world.Son or not, I wouldn’t let such a remark slip. Not by me.“Don’t be too hard on him,” Willa suddenly said, seemingly knowing what ran in my mind. “He’s just a little kid, Han.”“All the more reason to instill respect in him, don’t you think?” I countered easily. “Nip it in the bud, Willa. Because I sure as hell wouldn’t have a son who couldn’t respect women, especially their own mother.”“Han, he’s five,” she replied with a deep sigh. “He said it in the peak of his emotions.”I frowned, feeling utterly concerned that she would shove her own feelings down as if they didn’t matter. “Doesn’t make it any less hurtful for you.”“Yes,” she agreed slowly, as if she was talking to a five year old, and not a grown man. But it was hard to take offense when she was so near and looking so fucking beauti

  • FATED TO A TYRANT   REFUTING ACCUSATIONS

GALLAHAN'S POVI couldn’t believe it.Willa was jealous. JEALOUS!But then again, this wasn’t the first instance she showed me how jealous she could get, given how she almost lost her composure when she saw Zuleika put on my ancestral sash for me.Tonight, though, I nearly erupted, ready to return the anger she was dishing out to me so unfairly.I was so damn close to losing my temper; I was basically just a step a way from fighting her—her vitriol against mine—until she began spouting nonsense about me being a philandering asshole, as if I hadn’t been losing my mind as I tried to look for her in the last six years.Instantly, the burning and venomous urge to argue and spat out angry words fizzled out. But it didn’t mean I was just going to let her continue to stew with all her wrong assumptions until they could fester and completely poison her thoughts and feelings for me.Daringly, I approached her and tossed the other half of her broken pencil aside. Then I plopped down next to her

  • FATED TO A TYRANT   ACCUSATIONS

WILLA’S POVGallahan’s hands were balled into tight fists at his sides, and I could almost make out the mild tremors of barely suppressed anger in them.“Because a relationship goes both ways, Willa,” he said softly, yet his tone carried a certain icy sharpness that would’ve made a lesser man tremble.Except, I was no lesser man. So I slammed my sketchbook shut, carelessly tossed it and my broken pencil aside on the couch, and said evenly, “But that’s the thing, Gallahan. Is there even a relationship between us? What even are we?”Gallahan’s throat visibly bobbed up and down as he swallowed. Then his jaws tensed as the fiery hardness in his gaze flickered with uncertainty for a fleeting while.“We’re fucking mates, Willa,” he answered, meeting my own gaze head on, as if doing so could give some sort of truth in what he was saying. “You’re mine as much as I am yours. Did that fact fail to get through your head?”“Let’s not kid ourselves, Gallahan,” I said, smiling at him wanly. “You an

  • FATED TO A TYRANT   OUTBURST

WILLA’S POVMy hope continued to dwindle with each passing day that the twins refused to talk to each other. The day after the big fight, Calisto, who wouldn’t dare meet my gaze, requested to go to the Alfiero Manor to spend time with my parents.I allowed him to, thinking that maybe it was what he needed. A space to breathe. An environment where he wasn’t all cooped up.Gillian, on the other hand, stayed with me. But it was evident how quiet and subdued she had become. She still played, of course. But I could tell she was growing lonelier and lonelier. I tried to be there for her as much as I could, trying to fill in the void that Calisto’s presence and company usually filled. It just wasn’t enough, though. Because I wasn’t Calisto, and it was him who she wanted to talk to and play with.Hearing her sighs and seeing her half-forced a smile made me want to castrate Gallahan every single time. The very bastard who finally deigned to show up on the late afternoon of the fourth day after

WILLA’S POV“I… I…” Calisto stammered, but I remained frozen as stone. My heart seemed to have shrunk like a deflated balloon, while my lungs were ready to burst out.My vision blurred with tears in an instant, and I couldn’t make another sound other than a choked out gasp.“I hate you!” Gillian shouted, pushing Calisto and sending him falling on his butt. “You’re not my brother anymore!”My family was crumbling all around me in a snap, and I couldn’t let that happen just because Gallahan couldn’t be man enough to keep his promises. So I blinked away my tears and shoved my own feelings aside.I helped Calisto get back on his feet, but he recoiled from my touch as if I had burned him.It sent another wave of excruciating pain in my chest, which I dutifully tried to ignore by turning my focus on Gillian.“Gillian, that’s not nice,” I said softly, caressing her back up and down to soothe her anger away.“What he said wasn’t nice either!”Her tears had ceased falling, but her face was sti
