CHAPTER SIX
Mr Orion Selene stood before me, her eyes hesitant. 'Mr. Orion, I need to ask for a favor,' she said, her voice professional. I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. 'Oh? And what might that be, Selene?'' I need to take the evening off tomorrow. I have a personal appointment I can't miss," She explained her request, sounding neutral, but I sensed a hint of nervousness. I leaned back in my chair, my eyes narrowing. 'An appointment, you say? With whom?' Her hesitation was palpable, and I knew she was hiding something. 'Just some friends. We're meeting for drinks,' she replied, her voice laced with evasiveness. I leaned forward, my eyes locking onto hers. 'And can't this appointment be rescheduled? I have a lot of work for you to do, Selene.' I could see the frustration in her eyes, but I didn't relent. Wanting to push her beyond limits,I approached her and I could see the fear and anticipation dancing in her eyes. She was like a wild animal, unsure of whether to flee or surrender. 'I'm feeling generous, Selene,' I said, my voice low and husky. 'Take the evening off.' I could see the confusion in her eyes, and uncertainty. But I didn't give her time to respond. I closed the distance between us, my hand reaching out to tilt her chin upwards. Her skin was soft and delicate, like porcelain. 'Don't think this is a favor, Selene,' I whispered, my breath caressing her skin. 'You'll need to make it up to me...soon.' I watched as her eyes fluttered closed, her body responding to my proximity. She was like a flower blooming in the sun, her beauty and vulnerability captivating me. I felt a thrill of excitement, my mind racing with different possibilities. I'm always watching, Selene,' I whispered, my eyes locked on hers. As I gazed into Selene's eyes, I couldn't help but chuckle naughtily. Her reaction was priceless, her face flushed a deep red, and she looked away, her eyes darting around the room like a trapped animal. It only made her more attractive to me, her shy demeanor made her irresistible. I could feel my self-control slipping, my desire to pin her against the wall and claim her lips was overwhelming. The air was thick with tension, and I knew she felt it too. She scurried out of my office like a scared kid, leaving me breathless and wanting more. I ran my hand through my hair, trying to calm the beast within me. ''Get a grip, Orion,'' I told myself. But it was no use. I was hooked on Selene's innocence and charm. And I knew I wouldn't stop until I had her in my arms, surrendering to every of my desires." My thoughts were consumed by Selene, my mind replaying the tempting tension between us. But my reverie was shattered by the shrill ring of my phone. I strode majestically to my seat. I answered the call, my deep voice commanding attention. But the voice on the other end delivered a stark reality check. 'Mr Orion, we have a situation. There's been a murder in Crimson Talon.' My grip on the phone tightened. Crimson Talon's Pack was our town, where my pack resided. And Selene was planning to visit her friends there. My protective instincts kicked in, my mind racing with worst-case scenarios. 'Give me details,' I growled, my eyes scanning the room as if searching for answers. The voice on the other end hesitated before speaking, ''It's...it's bad, Mr Orion. The victim was torn apart. Like an animal attack, but...different.'' My heart began to race, a sense of fear settling in. Selene was going into the heart of danger, and I was the only one who could protect her." I had a feeling her 'appointment' was connected to the murder in Crimson Talon. And I would be keeping a close eye on her, for her own protection...and mine." I soon reached for the office landline, my fingers hesitating over the keys. I was about to put it off, but something compelled me to dial the home line. And then, I heard her voice. Selene's voice. It sent unusual tingles down my spine, making my mind go blank for a brief moment. I imagined her beneath me, calling my name out of pleasure, begging me for more. I shook my head, dispelling the thoughts. "'Hello, Mr Orion? Are you there?' Her voice was like a splash of cold water, snapping me back to reality. I answered coldly, trying to cover up the emotions running through my mind. ''Selene, come to my office. Now.'' My voice was gruff, my words were curt. I raked my hand through my hair, feeling a sense of frustration wash over me. What was happening to me? I was losing control, and I didn't like it. "'Now, Selene,' I repeated, my voice heavy with a sigh. "Yes, sir. Right away." she replied curtly. And then, I dropped the call. I stood there, my heart racing, my mind reeling. What was I doing? Why was I summoning her? She's just my maid!, I couldn't help myself, I needed to warn her against the danger ahead. I need to protect her. ______ I was fighting it, still trying to control myself, but Selene burst into the room, and I couldn't resist anymore. I walked up to her, pinning her to the wall, my hands grasping hers, holding them above her head. Our lips met, and the kiss was like nothing I'd ever experienced. It was like I was drowning in her, and I couldn't get enough. At first, she resisted, but then she gave in, her hands tangling in my hair, sending shivers down my spine. I deepened the kiss, my chest pressed against hers, aligning my body with hers, this feeling was different, I wanted more of her. But then, she pulled away, her eyes still filled with desires she surpressed and said, ''You called me, sir.''CHAPTER SEVEN.But then, she pulled away, her eyes still gleaming with desire, yet she tried suppressing it ''You called me, sir.'' She said out of the blues. It was like a slap in the face, a reminder of our stations. I felt a surge of anger flow through me and my cold, domineering self taking over.''You'll clean every part of this mansion,'' I growled, my voice sounded very harsh. ''And you won't be going anywhere tomorrow evening.''"But, sir, I was supposed to perform my duties and leave as we initially agreed." She protested, but I cut her off, sounding firm. ''No, Selene. You'll do as I say.'' I felt a surge of satisfaction as Selene's eyes dropped, her shoulders slumping in defeat."Yes, Sir."The fire in her eyes was extinguished, and replaced by a meek submission. I felt a pang of guilt, but I pushed it aside, gaining back my control. As I stood there, gazing at Selene, I felt this strong connection that I had never felt with anyone before, this feeling was supposed to be
CHAPTER EIGHTI cried out, my voice shaking, "Mom! No, please don't leave me!", I shook her vigorously, in an attempt to see her open her eyes and shout "surprise!" , or "it's a prank"But it was too late, a surge of power escaped her body, I knew she was gone, and I was left with the pain of that memory.Even now, the memory brought tears to my eyes, a memory that was like a punch to the gut, leaving me breathless and sad. My Aura began to fluctuate wildly, becoming dangerous and unpredictable. I could feel it affecting the air around me, making the plants wither and the lights flicker."No... no... no..." I whispered, trying to push the memory away. But it was too late. The pain and grief had already consumed me, I felt like a murderer, if only I had a wolf, if only i wasn't incompetent.Just as I was drowning in my sorrow, my phone rang, shrill and insistent. I groaned, feeling the flashback recede like a tide pulling back from the shore. I hesitated for a moment, then picked up
CHAPTER NINEJay trembled, taking a step back. "I-I'll take you to her, Alpha. Please, follow me."I strode behind Jay, my anger building with each step. How dare she try to escape? Didn't she know the danger that lurked outside these walls? Didn't she know I was the only one who could protect her?We reached the east wing, and Jay led me to a room guarded by two burly men. "She's in there, Alpha," Jay whispered, cowering.I pushed open the door, my eyes scanning the room until they landed on Selene. She sat in a corner, her eyes flashing with defiance. I could feel my anger boiling over, but I knew I had to keep it in check. For now."What were you thinking, trying to escape?" I demanded, my eyes blazing with anger.Selene's response was immediate and rude sounding scornful. "I was trying to get away from your prison, Mr Orion!"But she bit her tongue, her eyes widening in fear, as if realizing her mistake.I took a step closer, my voice low and menacing. "Do you have any idea how d
CHAPTER TENSeleneI was locked in the room, feeling trapped and helpless. Beta Jay had looked at me with pity in his eyes, but he couldn't bring himself to disobey the Alpha's orders. "I'm sorry, Selene," he had said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I can't be disloyal to Orion, no matter what I think is right."And with that, he had left me alone in the room locked up, leaving me to my tears. I cried until I felt weak and exhausted, my eyes red and puffy, my hair a tangled mess of golden locks that cascaded down my back like a river of sunset hues. My birthmark on my hand, seemed to throb with a dull ache, as it reminded me of the secrets that I was yet to unravel. I felt stupid for thinking that asking Mr Orion's permission had been the right thing to do. Stupid for thinking that he would ever let me go. Stupid for thinking that I had any control over my own life.As the tears streamed down my face, I couldn't help but wonder what must have made Mr Orion act out of the blues
CHAPTER ELEVENMr Orion's eyes spilled over, tears streaming down his face."The rogue, it tore her apart, broke her. She was bleeding, Selene. Bleeding so badly. And I... I was too scared, too weak and my wolf..... I couldn't even save her."Mr Orion's voice cracked as he continued, "She died right in my hands, Selene. I felt her life force slipping away, a surge of power leaving her body as she took her last breath. I was too young to understand what was happening, but I knew it was the end. I felt it, the moment her soul left her body."He paused, his eyes frozen on a distant memory, his voice was barely audible, and his body was shaking with sobs."I've lived with that guilt ever since, Selene. The guilt of not being able to save my mother. And I won't let it happen again. I won't lose you too." "I was just a child. My mother, she... she was taken from me. Killed by the same creatures that I'm trying to protect you from."He paused, his eyes distant, lost in the past. I could see
CHAPTER TWELVEMy legs seemed to give out beneath me, and I slid down the wall, my knees bending as I collapsed to the floor.Tears flowed freshly from my eyes as I lay there, my body shaking with sobs.I couldn't move, couldn't think. I was trapped, and I knew it. The weight of my situation crushed me, and I felt myself drifting off to sleep, my mind numb and my body exhausted.I dreamed of a hidden cave, dimly lit and eerily quiet. A figure in a black cloak stood before me, its face obscured by the shadows. Yet, despite the obscurity, I sensed an ancient presence, a being who had lived for centuries. As I looked around, I realized we were alone. The cave was empty, except for the two of us. And then, our eyes met. His gaze was piercing, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. There was a likeness in his eyes, a familiarity that I couldn't quite place.I had heard stories of rogues, of their cunning and ruthlessness. But this being, despite his resemblance to them, seemed different. H
CHAPTER THIRTEEN He suggested I take a shower, but I hesitated, my mind was still reeling from the nightmare. But with Mr Orion's reassuring presence, I reluctantly agreed. He led me to the bathroom, turning his back against mine, which made me uneasy at first. But the thought of being in danger pushed me to hurry through the shower. I quickly rinsed off and stepped back into the room, wrapped in a towel. As I sat on the bed, as my eyes scanned the room, still searching for any signs of the monster from my dream. Mr Orion handed me a glass of water, which I took with a silent nod of thanks. I couldn't speak, my voice was still caught in my throat. But Mr Orion seemed to understand. He sat beside me, as his presence was calm and soothing. And for a moment, I felt safe. Safe from the horrors of my nightmare, safe from the darkness of my nightmares. The silence between us stretched out like a thin sheet of ice, fragile and easily broken. And it was Mr Orion who finally broke it, his v
CHAPTER FOURTEEN He was going to kiss me again, and I was going to let him. But he didn't, he stretched out his hand as he pulled me in.As Mr Orion's arms wrapped around me, I felt myself being lifted off the ground. My legs instinctively wrapped around his waist, as my feet dangled in the air. I was suspended in mid-air, as my body pressed against his, and his eyes locked on mine. I felt a rush of excitement mixed with a hint of fear as I realized how vulnerable I was in that moment. But Mr Orion's gaze was reassuring, his eyes burned with a passion that made me feel safe. He held me close, as I could feel his hard chest through his cloth as his hands supported my weight, and I felt like I was melting into him. My heart raced as I realized how easily he could overpower me, but instead, he held me with a gentleness that made me feel safe as I got comfortable in his arms. I had never felt this way before, like my body was surrendering to a stranger. I had never been this close
CHAPTER SIXTY SEVEN _ARIEL_As we fought, the cave rocks began to crack and tremble, and the ground shook beneath our feet. The girl's eyes gleamed with a fierce light, and she seemed to be channeling the ancient power of the cave. I stumbled back, my footing unsure, as the rocks creaked and groaned around us. In a desperate bid to claim the amulet, I ducked away from the girl and made a grab for the pedestal. But she was too quick. With a swift motion, she snatched the Moonstone Amulet from its resting place and held it aloft, its glow illuminating her triumphant face."No!" I cried, my heart racing with disappointment. "That's mine!"The girl merely laughed, a wild, untamed sound, and held the amulet out of my reach. "Catch me if you can!" she taunted, her eyes sparkling with mischief. With a wicked grin, she turned and ran, the amulet clutched in her hand.I scrambled to my feet, determined to pursue her, but the cave was collapsing around me. Rocks crashed down, blocking my pa
CHAPTER SIXTY SIX_ARIEL_ "But what if I could help them in other ways? I'm a skilled researcher, and I know how to gather information. Maybe I could dig up something on Ryker and his followers, find out what they're planning and where they are."I stopped pacing and sat down at my desk, pulling out my laptop and starting to type. I searched for any mentions of Ryker or his followers online, but there was nothing. I tried searching for other keywords, like "werewolf packs" and "supernatural threats," but still came up empty-handed.Just as I was about to give up, I remembered a book I had read a few months ago. It was about the supernatural creatures of the world, and it had a section on werewolves. I grabbed the book off my shelf and started flipping through the pages, looking for anything that might be useful. As I read, I came across a passage about a powerful werewolf artifact. It was said to be able to protect a pack from harm, and it might just be what Selene and our pack neede
CHAPTER SIXTY FIVE_ARIEL_I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease as I left the Orion's mansion. My mind was racing with thoughts of Selene's newfound identity and the secrets that had been kept from her. I tried calling her multiple times, but her number just rang and rang."Selene, pick up! I need to talk to you!" I said, frustration creeping into my voice. But it went straight to voicemail. Again.Days passed, and I grew more concerned. I tried reaching out to her on social media, but she seemed to have disappeared. A knot formed in my stomach as I wondered if everything was okay."Chris, have you talked to Selene lately?" I asked, trying to sound casual when I called him."Yeah, I've tried calling her too, but I haven't been able to reach her," Chris replied, sounding equally concerned."Aren't you worried? I mean, with her newfound identity and all..." I pressed on."I'm sure she's just processing everything. But hey, speaking of Selene, her birthday is coming up soon. We sho
CHAPTER SIXTY FOUR_ARIEL_As Selene's best friend, and like a sister to her. It was the most shocking part of her life I got to know. I know how much Selene hates the idea of werewolves and all that. Not to talk of being a werewolf from an Alpha bloodline?I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Selene, my best friend, my sister in every way, was telling me that she was with a birthmark owned by werewolves? It sounded like a joke, but the seriousness in her voice told me otherwise."Guys, I'm telling you, I have this birthmark on my body and it means I'm from an Alpha werewolf bloodline," Selene said over the phone.I was taken aback. I had always known Selene to be a skeptic when it came to supernatural things, and now she was telling me that she was one of us?"Selene, that's impossible," I said, trying to reason with her. "You know as well as I do that you've always been a normal person all your life, how come you suddenly have that birthmark?"But Selene was insistent. She told us
CHAPTER SIXTY THREE_SELENE_I was leaving when I heard her talking again."I'm afraid that's not possible, Selene," the moon goddess said, her voice firm but gentle. "You are a guardian of the packs, and you cannot simply reject your destiny. You have a responsibility to protect them, to lead them.""I don't want it," I said, shaking my head. "I don't want to be a guardian. I don't want to be responsible for anyone else's lives. I just want to be free."The moon goddess sighed, her expression softening. "Selene, you are not like other humans. You have a special gift, a special purpose. You cannot simply walk away from that.""I can try," I said, my voice defiant. "I can try to leave it all behind and start a new life, a life without the constant fear and responsibility."The moon goddess shook her head. "You cannot escape your destiny, Selene. It will follow you wherever you go. And besides, you are not just a guardian. You are a leader. You have a role to play in the greater scheme
CHAPTER SIXTY TWO_SELENE_I stepped out of the room as I began thinking why on Earth the moon goddess made sure of it to see me miserable.I found out I was werewolf so late into my life. when I actually thought I had a normal life.I found out my aunt isn't my aunt but a maid in my parents house.I found out I have an uncle who is an evil man and I'm to fight against him to save all the packs. I found out I was mated to a cold Alpha and I was from an Alpha bloodline.Every incident so far has been messy for me.Now that I thought I was going to enjoy my life with my mate peacefully, my mate dies."Like, why am I cursed? Why does it have to be me?" "Why does my life get messed up whenever I think I'm getting better?"" I can't do this, it's all stupid and silly" I groaned angrily."To hell with the moon goddess, To hell with every damn thing she said." "Why do you always have to make my life so difficult?" I muttered to myself, kicking a stone in frustration. "Can't you just leav
CHAPTER SIXTY ONE_ORION IN HIS STATE OF COMMA_"Wait!" she cried, her voice ringing out across the landscape. "Don't you ever wonder if Ryker is truly your master, or if he's just using you to achieve what he wants?"The werewolves were taken aback by her sudden boldness, but they quickly recovered and snarled at her. However, Selene stood her ground, her eyes locked on theirs."Do you know that Ryker plans to destroy you all once he achieves his goals?" she asked, her voice dripping with conviction. "He's using you, manipulating you, and you're just blindly following him!"The werewolves looked at each other uncertainly, clearly taken aback by Selene's words. Ryker appeared, his face twisted in rage."Enough of this nonsense!" he screamed, his voice echoing off the walls. "You're just trying to confuse them, Selene! But it won't work!"But Orion had already taken advantage of the distraction to scan their surroundings, and he spotted a flowing stream of water coming from the top of
CHAPTER SIXTY_ORION IN HIS STATE OF COMMA_Orion saw himself in a dark smoky place and he couldn't even tell what he was doing there. He attempted standing up to look around but he couldn't when he looked down, he saw that he was bound. As Orion struggled against his restraints, he suddenly saw a bright light illuminating the dark smoky place. The light grew intense, and he felt himself being lifted up, as if by an unseen force. He looked around, disoriented, and saw that he was now standing on the top of a house, feeling the wind whipping through his hair. But the peacefulness of the scene was short-lived, as the atmosphere grew cloudy and ominous. Orion's instincts told him that something was off, and he scanned his surroundings, trying to pinpoint the source of the danger. That was when he saw her - a lady in white, standing afar off beside someone, that looked like him. It was like he was split into two.She looked familiar, and Orion's mind raced as he tried to place her. And t
CHAPTER FIFTY NINE_MRS CLAIRE_I had always looked forward to this time of my life when Selene is all grown up and ready to take up her place as our savior. I have vowed that I was going to fight with my blood and I wouldn't care more as Selene would make my death worth a while.Standing by the window, I had left Selene with Lady Evelyn at the palace and I came back home alone. Selene needs my help now than ever. She needs all the packs to be in her Favor. I've always been scared to go back to my pack due to my childhood trauma from my family. My evil Beta Uncle had found a way to convince everyone against my father and take his place. He also found a way to harm me, but all thanks to Selene's Father. Now I have to pay back by doing something to help Selene. I took my pan and scribbled on a note. I put the note on the table, in case Selene came back to look for me.I looked around in the room again and sighed. I walked out of the house and headed through the woods I couldn't bear
