ROMAN'S POV.

“We have them down in the basement Roman, I know you would still definitely disregard this but go easy on them” I heard Caspian say as he entered my chamber. This chamber was where I spent my time alone, reflecting. The room was blue, every single thing in it to,the colour was calming.

And it helped me concentrate. It was also sound proof, not that any one dared disturb me with their noise or maybe eavesdrop, they couldn't. Well, unless they were tired of living. The roof of the chamber was made of glass. It was see through only from the inside though.

Someone standing above it couldn't see a thing. This chamber was like my hiding place. I could stay here for days without even coming out for once. There are moments when I just want to be alone, I could stay here for weeks. It had everything a normal house would have, it even had a pool, definitely not your average room.

Only people close to me were allowed entrance in here.

Other than that maybe the cleaner

ROMAN'S POV. “I'm sure you know its you” I said pointing at her. And then she stepped out of the line. “I'm sorry, sir. Im sorry” she said repeatedly falling on her face. “Do you know what you did?” I asked the trembling maid before me. “No sir,” she said, shaking her head. “Are you mixed?” I asked. “Yes sir I am. Half wolf, half vampire” she said. “I hate the smell of your kind” I said looking at her in utmost disgrace. Not only did I hate the smell of her kind, I hate them in all totality. I looked around the room … “Who hired her?” I asked. They all mumbled looking at each other in confusion. “Who hired you? Who brought you here?” I asked her. “It was me” I heard an elderly voice say this behind me. It was madam Glere, one of the oldest workers here. She practically raised me. I turned growling and muttering some words. Shooting my gaze back at the maid. “Do something about your stink. I would not tell you this again” I said and conti

DISCHARGE DAY. I sat on my hospital bed packing a few of my properties that I had with me. The little clothes and other things mom and Jane had brought from home for me. I and Jane sat folding my clothes, while my mom was doing whatever she was at the hospital kitchen. She was probably clearing the flask before bringing it for packing. My dad was downstairs helping out with the processes for my discharge. How mom managed to convince me to stay in this hospital for over three weeks is still a wonder to me. Mom, dad and even the doctors worked hand in hand to discourage me from leaving and going back to work Finally I was being discharged today, mom insisted but no way I was going to stay cooped up here for another day. The only reason I agreed to tolerate staying here was because I still felt guilty about not telling mom about everything that had been happening. Well, truly the stay in this hospital was not as horrible as I thought it would be and how I made I mom feel I th

KATHERINE'S POV. “Oh my God, Jane exclaimed I had goosebumps all over my body as I heard Jane exclaim. I prayed earnestly that it wasn't what I was thinking. I prayed really earnestly. I heard mom gasp and then following her gaze, I knew it was definitely what I dreaded. My blood turned cold as I looked at the formerly white bedspread currently stained widely with my blood. My clothe too was stained. My pregnancy was already around four months by now, this should not be happening. The doctors said I should not worry that it wouldn't happen again. “Honey, are you okay?” My mom asked and rushed to my side. I stood frozen still as my dad ran out to call the doctors. “Mom,” I said. That was the only thing I could say. No thoughts could form in my head. I was really scared and my mom could see it too. “Baby, baby, look at me, calm down” she said, holding my head steady to face her. “Mom, not again” I said, shaking my head. “My baby,” I cried while holding my stomach

TRUE FORM. It has been a week since the bleeding reoccurred for the second time. But here I was still stubbornly in San Francisco. Mom, dad and even Jane all tried their possible best to convince me to go back to New York but I wouldn't listen. I don't need anybody to survive, I could do this on my own, like every trial I have triumphed this one would pass too, this was the lie I kept telling myself. Who was I kidding? I needed someone to be with me, I needed help but it does not have to come from or be in New York. Mom was really mad that I wasn't taking this seriously, she said she would talk to me or come search for me until I decide to go back to New York. It pained me to see her push me away even though we both knew that was the last thing she wanted to do. I wasn't going to bulge neither was she. At first I thought well, it's mom after some days she would forget about all of these and get over it and we would return to the way we were but not this time was the reply I recei

TRUE FORM 2 “What do I do?” I asked Jane again. I Know there was no way she could answer that but I just needed her to say something, she should say anything. I was really panicking here. “Calm down,” she said. Okay, I know I said I needed her to say anything but we'll not anything. Who the hell can be fucking calm in this condition? “Calm. Calm? With the human flesh tearing fucking teeth that suddenly appeared in my mouth?” I asked her. “Well, then I'm pretty sure telling you this would freak you out. But what the hell? Your eyes too have changed” I heard her say. I rushed back to the mirror where I was just standing, I saw my eye had changed to a kind of golden shade. My eyes widened in shock as I looked on. What in the name of God was happening to me? First my teeth and now my eyes. What next? How could I go out like this? How could I, looking this way? I was a complete freak show. I rubbed my eyes continuously in hopes that it would turn back to it's normal shade but, t

GOING TO THE AIRPORT. With my fluffy pink towel wrapped loosely around me and my messy hair fully subdued inside my hair bonnet, I headed to the bathroom. I pulled the towel and hung it on the hanger and I also removed the bonnet. My hair was not just a mess, it was a smelly mess. I wasn't going to head back to New York looking the way I felt, terrible. At least I should make them see that I was doing not so bad without them, besides I had not washed my hair for days now, so yeah killing two birds with one stone. I turned on the shower and got under it. I didn't turn on the water heater because I needed to use cold water to shower. I wanted to fully be awake, cold water would help to achieve just that. After I had washed my hair and bathed, I looked at the small mirror on top of the basin. I used my palm to wipe away the water so that I could see clearly. I thought they said you looked your worse during pregnancy. Right now looking at my reflection, I saw my skin looks clearer t

AT THE AIRPORT. Jane and I turned around when we heard our names, the voice too was so familiar. It was my parents, they had come, they were here to see me off. Tears pooled in my ears as I saw them rush towards us. I thought they weren't going to come. I had actually decided to accept the fact that they weren't coming to see me off, but here they were. I didn't know when I had begun to sob,I saw some passersby giving me strange looks. Well, who could blame them? Here I was a pregnant woman bawling like a baby in the middle of an airport. I was a sight to behold. My parents soon got to us. My mom pulled me into a hug, suddenly I felt like a five year old that got lost but had been finally found by her mom and dad. “Baby don't cry," my dad said, wiping my tears. The more he did the more they escaped. I was really emotional. “How have you been?” My mom asked and a fresh set of hot tears began to flow out. At some point she too had tears in her eyes. It was so obvious she had be

OLD FLAME. I hadn't heard anything about Rose for a while, things here had been very hectic. The pack needed a reshuffling and I gave all my attention for the past weeks to that. They need to understand that I would not tolerate any form of disloyalty. I heard a knock on my door. It was to get a report on Rose's activities. “Come in” I said. “Good day, my Lord” the man greeted. I nodded my head in acknowledgement of his greeting. “Hope she is doing fine?” I asked him. He cleared his throat and repositioned himself firmly. “Currently that is the case my Lord” I heard him say and I winced at those words. “Currently?” I asked, turning my full attention to the man in front of me. He swallowed nervously. “My Lord, the thing is, on the day when she was to be discharged, that's some weeks ago, she began bleeding again so she had to stay in the hospital for some more days.” I heard him say. “She bled again? And why am I being told now?” I asked him enraged. He hesitated on his wo

Happily Ever AfterHayley's POVThe morning sun shone through the windows as I stared at the garden below, savoring the beautiful view of it. It was like a gentle whisper of hope, soft and tentative, whispering through my ears. My fingers traced the windowsill, exploring the smooth, weathered wood beneath my touch - each groove and grain a tactile memory of our tumultuous journey. Two days. Just two days since Roman had returned from a battle that had threatened to unravel everything we knew, a conflict that had hovered on the razor's edge of total destruction.Memories cascaded through my mind like fragmented scenes from a nightmare. The metallic scent of blood. The paralysis of fear. That horrifying moment when time seemed to stop, and I believed I might lose everything I had come to love. But not today.Today was different.Today was about healing.About redemption.About hope rekindled.Downstairs, the kitchen was a symphony of preparation. We had hired more cooks for the celeb

A Promising Future Roman's POV I opened my eyes to the soft morning light coming through the windows. The pain in my chest was less now, thanks to the healing I got last night. Rose sat next to me on our bed, her hand gentle on my arm. She looked tired but happy."How are you feeling?" she asked softly, her fingers threading through my hair with such tenderness it made my heart ache. Dark circles circled her eyes, evidence of her exhaustion from last night, but her smile held all the warmth of the morning sun.I caught her hand in mine, pressing my lips to her knuckles, breathing in the familiar scent of her skin. "Better. The healing worked better than I expected." Every word was true – the piercing pain that had threatened to tear me apart was now just a memory."That's good." Her smile wavered slightly, worry dancing in the depths of her green eyes like shadows in still water. "The twins are still sleeping now. But they gave me a hard time sleeping last night. A New Dawn Hayley's POV I paced the hospital corridor as we waited for Dad to wake up. The fluorescent lights shone too bright even though it was already night, making the white walls seem even more clinical. I sat down in an uncomfortable plastic chair and shifted numerous times, my muscles protesting after hours of sitting. Next to me, Viola kept checking her phone, her fingers drumming an anxious rhythm on her thigh. Bree had gone home to rest about an hour ago, practically falling asleep on her feet. I'd insisted she get some proper sleep, promising to call if anything changed. The twins were with Dora, and even though I trusted her completely, my thoughts kept drifting to them. It was the longest I'd been away since they were born. "Family of Lucien Merchetti?" A doctor's voice drew my attention to the doorway. She was young, probably in her early thirties, with kind eyes that crinkled at the corners when she smiled. "You can go in and see him now, but just for a litt

The Final Battle Roman's POVThe private jet touched down in San Francisco just as the sun began its descent behind the horizon. My muscles were tense from the flight, but my mind was sharp, focused on the hunt ahead.Beside me, Caspian checked his phone for the hundredth time, his usual playful demeanor replaced by cold determination."Our tracking team is already working on Scarlett's location," I told him as we climbed into the waiting SUV. "They'll have coordinates for us within minutes." I informed him."Good." Caspian's voice was clipped. "The sooner we end this, the better." He added. As we drove to my wolves' team here in San Francisco, I pulled out my phone to hear from Rose back in New York. My fingers hovered over Rose's number for a moment before I pressed call. She answered on the first ring, her voice tight with worry."Roman? Did you find them?" She asked me.Just hearing her voice made my wolf whine. "We're close. The tracking team is working on it now." Escape Before DawnRoman's POV We sat at the back of the garden, and the late afternoon shone across the immaculately beautiful lawn. My wolf paced restlessly beneath my skin as I watched Scarlett and Stephan exchange their vows, not fooled by the serene facade of this wedding. Everything about them looked fake – the forced smiles, the tension crackling in the air, the way my guards tried to blend into the background while keeping their eyes fixed on Melissa.Rose was beside me, her hand warm in mine, her emerald dress making her skin glow in the fading light. She was trying to keep her composure, but I could feel the slight tremor in her fingers. I found myself thinking about our own future wedding, the one we'd have once all this mess was over. It would be different – filled with joy instead of suspicion, love instead of hatred."You may kiss the bride," the officiant announced, his voice carrying across the hushed garden.I leaned closer to Rose, my lips brushing her ear as I wh

Scarlett's Wedding Hayley's POV I stood before the full-length mirror in our bedroom, pulling down the hem of my emerald green dress for the hundredth time now. I felt nervous. The silk material mused against my skin as I stretched it, but even its luxurious touch couldn't calm my nerves. Today was my sister's wedding—if you could call someone who'd tried to kill you a sister."Stop fidgeting, Rose." Roman's deep voice called from the doorway. I didn't have to turn because I saw his reflection in the mirror before me, and my breath hitched in my throat. He looked devastatingly handsome in his charcoal suit, his dark hair slightly tousled as if he'd been running his fingers through it. His eyes, those piercing amber orbs that never failed to see right through me, held mine in the mirror."I can't help it," I mumbled, smoothing my hands over my stomach. The twins' birth had left its marks, but Bree had chosen this dress perfectly—it hugged in all the right places while still being ap

Three Days of GraceRoman's POVIt was three days before Scarlett's wedding. I was pacing my study in the early morning, thinking. Dawn hadn't yet broken when Caspian arrived and joined me in the study. I had called him earlier. I'd been up for hours now, my wolf restless beneath my skin. The weight of leadership had never felt heavier than in these moments, when every decision could mean life or death for those I loved."Three days," Caspian said, leaning back in his chair. Dark circles under his eyes suggested he'd been up all night too. "Are we really going through with getting Melissa out for the wedding?" He asked me.I paused my pacing to rub my temples, where a headache had been building since midnight. I turned to walk to the window, watching as the sun shone down in the garden looking too peaceful for the turmoil in my mind."I don't know," I admitted, my voice rough from lack of sleep. The thought of letting Melissa out made my wolf snarl with protective rage. "With ever

Betrayal in Plain SightRoman's POVThis morning I woke up with new determination. I rubbed my tired eyes, determined to review more surveillance footage. Yesterday's run with Rose had helped clear my mind, made the bitterness and pain more manageable. I didn't expect to find anything new in the recordings, but I had to try. I had barely started hearing the recordings in my study. Then I heard it.Scarlett's voice came through the speakers, trembling slightly. "I don't know what to do. He's going to banish me from New York. I have nowhere to go." She cried.I leaned forward, turning up the volume. A female voice responded, making my anger spike."Come to San Francisco. We need to stick together now more than ever," the voice said. "It's time we dealt with Roman and Hayley once and for all." She told her. Wait. That voice sounds familiar. My fingers gripped the edge of my desk. That voice... I knew that voice."Are you sure?" Scarlett asked, hope creeping into her tone."Yes. Just co

Comfort in ChaosHayley's POVMy heart ached as I watched Roman storm upstairs to his study, his shoulders rigid with tension. The sound of his footsteps echoed through the foyer, each step heavy with the weight of yesterday's revelations. Viola's eyes followed his retreating form, and concern appeared on her elegant features."Kate, darling," Viola said softly, reaching across the table to squeeze my hand. "I've never seen him this tense, even for Roman. What has happened?" She asked me.I sighed, running my fingers through my hair. The morning sunlight streaming through the windows suddenly felt too bright, too cheerful for the heaviness in my chest. "He visited his mother in the dungeon yesterday," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "She told him... she told him Victor might be his real father."The silence that followed was deafening. Bree's coffee cup clattered against its saucer, the sound sharp in the quiet room."Oh my God," Bree breathed, her blue eyes wide. "Are you
