Her Loyalty Questioned

Returning home that day, Tanya decided to cook for Kenneth.

She prepared Omelette and bread and sat down waiting for him while watching TV.

Bianca sent a text to her as she settled down, it reads, "I can't wait for the banquet tomorrow sis"

Tanya hissed and switched off her phone and waited for him to come back. A hour, two, three until after five hours, Kenneth Griffin is nowhere around.

Without knowing, Tanya fell asleep on the sofa. Tanya woke up the next day on the bed. She wondered how she got on the bed and rushed downstairs to look for him perhaps he's around.

Feeling disappointed that he wasn't around, Tanya slinked into the bathroom to prepared for the day when she noticed a sticky note on her cheeks.

She pulled it and read, "I've gone out for business and won't be back anytime soon. Don't worry, I'll attend your grandfather's birthday banquet. My call lines won't be available from now"

Tanya can't help but miss immediately she read it till the end. Still yet, she dressed up for work regardless of his absence.

Since Kenneth wasn't around, Tanya has little or nothing to do as she was his assistant.

She spent half of the day tossing around and drinking coffee. His empty seat will always pop up before her anytime she turned around making her feel the weight of his absence.

After the long boring working hours, she packed hee bag to go back home when the unexpected happened.

Ryan Griffin came from nowhere to offer her a ride home.

"Hello, Sister-in-law, I'm here to drop you off since my brother is not around" he said.

Everyone at the reception was shocked that Ryan Griffin would care this much about his Sister-in-law. Tanya felt embarrassed at this gesture as everyone around directed their attention on her waiting for what she'll say.

She fidgeted a bit before replying, "Em, you don't need to bother, I can just take the subway, it's very cheap"

Ryan's face became downcast immediately, "Why? Let me bother you're Kenneth's wife, we should take care of you"

Tanya gulped uneasily. She remembered Kenneth's words that Ryan isn't someone to be alone with but what can she do now when he's insisting?

Grudgingly, she consented and followed him out of the company.

After she left, Bianca almost bit herself to death as saw the scene unfold before her. She was so mad that she didn't know when she said, "Tanya Lewiston you're playing with fire!"

Her phone beeped, it was a message from Frank. She hissed as she read the contents, "I don't care what happens, I'll go with you to your grandfather's banquet tomorrow"

She hissed in disdain before switching the phone off.

In the car, Tanya sat like a log in Ryan's car as they drive towards Kenneth's apartment.

The ride was silent save for the screeching of the tires against the asphalt road.

After a few turns, the car stopped before Kenneth's apartment.

"Thank you Mr Ryan" Tanya bowed slightly and wanted to hop out of the car.

"Ain't you curious?" Ryan's voice stopped her movement. She looked back at him with a questioning gaze.

"What did you mean?" She enquired. Ryan Griffin smirked, his face became Ashen with seriousness as he asked again.

"Ain't you curious about the history between me and Kenneth? I mean, we never have a good chemistry and we always fight ain't you curious about what the reason is?"

Tanya sighed as she looked into his eyes for a long time. Of course she was curious indeed and wanted to know what happened and why they keep talking as if she was once in their lives. But she wasn't ready to know it through this shady Ryan Griffin.

She smiled simply and said aloud, "I'm not curious at all. I believe that Ken will tell me the truth when he's ready to let me know, then if there's nothing else, I'll leave now"

Ryan held her hand and make her face him with a stern expression on his face like a vampire ready to devour it's prey, "Let me ask you Tanya, why are you with Kenneth? Your sudden marriage to him. I'm sure it wasn't for love. Tell me what's the real story?"

Tanya stared at him intently for some moments she can't help but feel that Ryan has some tricks up his sleeves given the questions he was asking, This is when she understood why Kenneth said he always want to avoid his brother.

To Tanya, Ryan Griffin is definitely annoying. She suddenly decided not to like him.

"I don't think you're in the position to question my loyalty to my husband. I beseech you to know which question you ask me as I don't have answers for you and I hope this kind of discuss didn't come up in the future" she replied savagely.

Looking at her every movements, Ryan can't help but be captivated. Tanya Lewiston is indeed a beauty woman. Now, he understood why his brother is addicted to her.

For the first time in his life, Ryan Griffin felt his heart skipped a beat.

Still lost in his trance, Tanya snapped her hand away from him and left his car without looking back.

The ring from Ryan's phone brought him back to reality, that's when he know that she had left

"Yes tell me?" He demanded.

There was a moment of silence over the phone for sometime before the latter responded. "Kenneth Grffin has successfully convinced the shareholders at Madagascar. It's possible he return to Fairfield tommorow"

Ryan sighed as he ran his hand through his hair in frustrating. "Listen, you must find every possible ways to hold him back from retuning tommorow. At all costs, I'll double your price"

He hung up and drove away from Kenneth's house.

He had to go and prepare too.
