Avery pushed something heavy off her stomach. She groaned loudly, touching her head, which felt like it was being hit by a sledgehammer. She lost orientation for a moment while trying to remember what happened last night at Shanon's wedding party. She remembered last night mingling with the guests, most of whom were Anthony's colleagues. She knew no one there apart from Shanon's friends. She then pulled over to the bar counter because she was starting to get dizzy from the hubbub. She ordered a few shots of liquor, hoping to feel better. But she never felt better. All that was left of all the drinking was the pounding pain in her head.
