CHAPTER THREE
ISABELLA’s POV
My body sank, and that feeling of falling into a pit made me open my eyes abruptly. My heart was beating rapidly and I felt alive, like someone was holding tight to me.
Camera-clicking sounds echoed in my ears constantly, which made my brows knit tightly. Different questions seemed to be flying in the air, there was only one question that seemed to enter my ear.
I looked around at the familiar place, it was the conference room. My eyes were almost blinded by the different snap lights targeted at me. Everything seemed to be live and direct.
I felt sore all over my body. Suddenly, I became sober in an instant as they began to roll in their questions. Their questions were weird, but I couldn’t answer any of them.
“Who would be elected for the position of director in the upcoming board meeting for Starlight Entertainment?”. I was confused now, what kind of meeting was this going on in heaven?
Just then Tyler walked in, beaming with smiles. I was more confused now, seeing his face. I was already dead, but Tyler wasn't. So how come Tyler was seeing me and even walking towards me?
Mason was beside me, holding me, and I realized I almost fell but that wasn’t the point right now. I just needed someone to explain to me what had just happened.
Even if it were to be a dream at that moment, I was overwhelmed to see Mason right beside me.
As if someone was reading my mind, a text appeared in front of the desk, the press conference document that was prepared for me to say changed into another text entirely.
“You have been reborn back into the past; you have a choice to remake your decisions and change your destiny, or you fail, and the incident of the future remains the same outcome.”
My eyes widened in horror as it cleared up, it was like I was seeing something else. I checked the date and realized I was back 5 years ago, just a few months before my marriage with Tyler.
It was around the period that Nicolette and I were both into heated arguments but I was planning to make it up to her the following month by promoting her to the new director of the company.
I closed my eyes as a feeling of anger and pain surged through me. Seeing Tyler in front of me again made me feel worse.
I cleared my throat, adjusting the microphone in front of me, “I’m unsure of who to announce as the new director of Starlight Entertainment, but I’m ensuring everyone chooses the best out of our employees.” I smiled at them, closed the conference, and immediately rushed out without thinking straight.
I was lost in thought with confusion as I ran out of the company, but the paparazzi kept on rushing after me till they eventually caught up with me, circling me in between. I was surrounded by them.
*Miss, Why did you suddenly have a change of mind about who to choose as the new director of Starlight Entertainment?*
*Is there anything happening that the public isn't aware of?*
*Miss, do you have anything to say about the issues?*
*Everyone thought your husband would be the next director but you suddenly had a change of mind in the dying minutes. Do you have anything to say about that?*
*Even some thought you might choose your stepsister!*
*After all, she's not her blood sister! Blood is thicker than water!” I heard a reporter say and I almost strangled her for a moment.
I have never been that confused in my life. Different questions were thrown at me but I couldn't even answer a single question. I could only stare at them while fidgeting with the hem of my dress when I heard a thick muscular voice beside me.
I was hearing the cold yet muscular voice beside me. The voice seemed to have brought back my senses at that moment, and I was able to think straight, even if it was just for a moment.
“She won't be answering any question for now,” The man said firmly; his voice was calm yet commanding, and almost immediately, the paparazzi stopped throwing questions at me.
“What a lifesaver!” I thought as I sighed in relief, but almost immediately, the man beckoned his hand towards me without even giving me enough space to calm my nerves.
Yes, the stranger in my presence was beckoning his hand towards me. Even though he was a stranger, his face was appealing and manly enough that I wouldn't have to think twice before following him, but still, he was a stranger despite his enchanting look.
“Let's go, I'll take you away from here,” The man said while I only stared at his lips. The way it was moving to and fro.
Even before I could react, My hand seemed faster than my shadow, and I immediately gave him my hand, and just like he said, he took me away from the crowd.
MINUTES LATER, INSIDE THE CAR.
I lowered my head and realized I was in a very ambiguous position, I was literally in the stranger's arms with my transparent blouse.
However, in the means of my unwanted movement, I heard the man's breath beneath my neck.
Yes, it sent chills down my body. Especially the down part.
“Damn! I'm going crazy over this stranger!”
I instinctively covered myself up, but looking through the rearview mirror; I realized the man wasn't even looking at me; rather, he had his gaze fixed on his cell phone, and I was the one clutching tightly onto him.
“I must have held onto him because I was scared,” I thought to myself feeling embarrassed. “Yes, it was a mere protection, nothing important to think of,” I muttered again, I believe anyone could have done the same in a situation like that.
By now, My face was reddened like a tomato, My cheeks flustered in embarrassment as I struggled hard to move away from him and sat up straight while looking outside through the car window.
The moment I moved away from him, a fresh-smelling cost fell on my shoulder.
“Put it on.” The man said, his voice was so full of magnetism that I almost couldn't react to his words. My gaze had already fallen on his handsome and noble profile. He looked calm and composed.
For him to save a stranger he knows nothing about, I could only think he's someone reserved and courteous, dignified and gentle, a true definition of a gentleman.
But that thought didn't last long as my heart stirred slightly. I never expected Tyler, who seemed like a perfect, calm, kind figure, to be a total leech talk more of a stranger I had just met.
I quickly waved aside the thought about the man seated beside me and wrapped the cost around my shoulder.
“You can drop me off at the next intersection ahead,” I said, trying to get out of the car as fast as possible. Even though his appearance seemed kind, I still can't help thinking otherwise.
But the man didn't speak; I looked at his expression through the rearview mirror; his eyebrows were calm as he looked out of the window without bothering to give me a response.
That alone sent shivers down my spine “Will I be dying the second time?” I thought, but I never knew I said that out, which got the man to give me a stare.
Yes, an awkward one!
Chapter 4Isabella's POV The awkward stare didn't last longer as the man received a phone call; I hate the fact that I can't bring myself to ask for his name as he might think I'm using the privilege to ‘hit on him.’“Get it ready in two minutes,” I heard him say over the phone to the caller in a calm yet demeanor way. I noticed he seemed to be the type that doesn't speak much. Even his words could be counted.I wiped the cold sweat from my face, looking closely. My scalp almost went numb when the message I received earlier stirred her heart again.I immediately took my phone and went through the message again,” You have been reborn back into the past; you have a choice to remake your decisions and change your destiny, or you fail, and the incident of the future remains the same outcome” Due to my situation earlier, I was unable to check the sender but the disappointment on my face was so clear and big upon seeing that it was an unknown number.Damn!“Could someone be playing a pran
Chapter 5ISABELLA'S POVI was still grinning while touching the area I had used to bump into the man. And for that reason, I loved the fact that I bumped into him as it made me remember him.If I can remember clearly, he was the most popular and impressive one during our high school and we almost had an interaction, but I wouldn't call that an interaction as he merely talked then.Apart from the little interaction we had then, I could remember we almost became a business partner but the man gave it up and chose another entertainment industry to collaborate with then. It might sound creepy but he was the first person that made me realize I wasn't perfect in my past life and that I could also get failure for some certain things.Thinking about it now, I suddenly remember Nicolette seemed to have a huge crush on him during high school, but that didn't seem to be deep then until the collaboration situation seemed to stir her heart a little bit.The smell of the man's — Rodrigo collagen w
Chapter 6ISABELLA'S POVI felt nausea the moment Tyler's lip touched mine. He tried deepening the kiss, but I was fast enough to push him away. All the anger that I concealed within myself seemed to go out immediately.“What the heck?!” I screamed out my lungs; I felt disgusted just by his mere sight. “Hey babe, why are you angry? I'm your husband,” I heard him say as he tried touching my face. If he knew what was best for him at that moment he wouldn't have made mention of the word ‘husband’I could feel my mother's nervous look, she must have been startled when she saw my reaction towards Tyler.I touched my hair, trying to keep myself calm; I was expecting myself to still have my bob hair on, but to my surprise, I had long, silky hair. I couldn't help flipping it back before parting my lips. I was ready to cuss at the jerk in my front, but I stopped immediately.“Even though we're married, Tyler. We should set a good example for our kids.”“It's impolite to share a kiss in public
CHAPTER ONEISABELLA’s POVPacing to and fro as I held my breath, my hands were shaking nervously and I was almost out of breath. Breathing out again, I looked at Tyler.“I can't believe you would spend that much money without letting me know!” I couldn’t help raising my voice slightly.“I thought it was a necessary expense. Besides, you spend money on things I don't agree with all the time.” He shrugged which got me more angered. This very stupid non challant attitude. I just breath in so as not to ruin everything, “The company has gone down and this is all you have to say? You're unbelievable! Do you realize at all that we are going bankrupt.”I picked up my bag and walked out of the office. I was aware of the fact that his eyes bore into my back, but I didn't care.I’m Isabella Drake, only legitimate daughter of the Drake family, I have a brother, Mason and a step sister, Nicollete.Even though we both regarded ourselves more as a sister than a step sisters. I got married 5years ag
CHAPTER TWOISABELLA’s POVWhat was this place? My hand suddenly passed through the wall, this was something that I only saw in movies and now it was happening to me. I realized I was just a ghost. I was still sitting in the actual position I was when I was shot. My spirit didn't seem willing to leave due to my anger.I gradually lifted myself and stared at my pitiful body on the floor. Shaking my head for having such a cruel fate. I floated with the wind to the rooftop of the car park. With each gust of wind, the sand rustled and quivered, adding a sense of motion and life to the park.I could see Nicollete and Tyler further away from the park, but they were not alone. There was another man there, his face covered with a mask. But unlike the person that shot me, he was wearing a blue overall while the former was on black shirt and top. My eyes had become bloodshot as I glared at them, wishing to tear their bones apart and drink their blood.Unfortunately, no matter how hard I tried,
