INTERVIEW

“What is the issue, Celine? Why was your voice in disarray?” Evelyn's concerned voice surged. “I couldn't shake off the urgency I felt, so I had to skip work just to come over.” Her gaze narrowed at my broken body.

I held her wrist and sobbed even more. “How could life be this cruel to me? Why am I always the tool? Why do they always break my heart, leaving it in shambles after planting love in it?” I yelled in frustration, gripping her hand tightly.

“Calm down, Celine, whatever the case may be,” she expressed, tapping my shoulders and tucking my hair behind my ears. She lifted her hands toward my face, cupping it. “Celine, calm down,” she repeated, her gaze locked on mine.

She leaned forward into an embrace, tapping my back with one hand and stroking my hair with the other.

I managed to calm down after moments of outburst and hurt. Evelyn helped me off the floor, and I sat on the bed. She scanned my expression in bewilderment; I could sense the worry in her heart.
