Simon stood there, his right brow raised as he looked from Anna to the man who he presumed must be the Clayton she was talking to.

"Sorry, Mr. Parker, let me get someone to clean that up," an usher said, hurrying over to them.

The crowd that had turned to look at the commotion hurried away when they saw it was Simon Parker, known for his temper, leaving them staring at each other.

Simon raised his brows, his eyes darkened with irritation as he asked, "What are you doing here?"

Anna flipped her hair with her left hand to the back and responded, "I don't see how that is any of your concern."

Simon's eyes were unreadable as he replied, "Don't tell me you came looking for…"

"Oh, please spare me the b*llsh*t you're about to say; you're of no significance to me, and I could care less what you've been up to in the last few years," Anna said, cutting him off.

Simon was taken aback by her biting words as his eyes narrowed at her, unable to understand why she was there.

Anna stepped close to him, her lips pulled up in a smile as she leaned her head close to his ears and muttered, "You're going to wish you never messed with me, Simon Parker."

With that, she turned and walked away from him, heading straight for the exit. Clayton hurried after her, hoping she was not about to leave.

Simon stood there staring at her retreating back, his brows pulled together in confusion.

Michael turned to Simon and said, "That's quite the shock on your face, Parker."

"Mind your fre*king business, Gary," Simon said in an icy voice as he walked away.

"Enjoy your throne for now, Parker; it won't be yours for much longer," Michael murmured at Simon's retreating back.

By the time Clayton caught up with Anna, she was fuming, trying to control her breath.

"Hey!! Are you alright?" Clayton asked, passing her a bottle of water he had grabbed from the room.

Anna raised an angry brow at him as she took the bottle of water from him.

"I know you are pissed, but you have got to hear me out," Clayton said, raising his hand as a sign of surrender at her deathly glare.

"F*ck!!" Anna shouted.

They were in the hallway, and some persons passing by turned to look at them.

"For god's sake, Clayton, when will you stop doing sh*t and getting everyone involved in it!" Anna stated angrily, speaking through gritted teeth to keep from shouting.

"I know, and now is really not the time for this; we really need to get back to that event right now," Clayton responded, adding, "You just admitted you had a change of heart earlier; was that a lie?"

Seeing Simon had brought all her anger to the surface, and for once it felt like life was presenting her the opportunity of a lifetime.

The Gary group was the second wealthiest family in New Jersey, with the Parker as the first. Funny that they were also top competitors in the same industry. If it means joining hands to pull him down, then she was all for it.

"No, I am here to kick his a** and that is what I plan to do," Anna stated firmly.

Clayton's brows squeezed at that, but he mumbled to himself, "As long as it's not my a** then we are fine."

Just then, Natasha hurried over to them and asked, "Is everything alright? It was pretty heated in there."

Yes, it is Nat," Clayton muttered.

Anna turned to look at Clayton, her eyes hardening as she said, "On one condition, Clayton, promise me you will keep this away from Loveth. She isn't strong enough to deal with all this now, so for the sake of her health, promise me you will keep it away from her."

"I promise," Clayton responded quickly, placing his hand on his chest.

"I will get you out of this mess, okay, but once we are done here, you are telling me everything," Anna added.

"Yes, of course," Clayton responded.

"Looks like we are going to be busy for the next few months," Nat muttered.

"Now, let's go show them how it is done," Anna stated.

Down the hall, a small group was gathered close to the entrance to the event.

"I'm so proud of your Nancy; your team will be presenting today, won't they? That is such a big deal," a lady said.

"Yes, of course, I mean, who better than me is capable of pulling off something this big?" Nancy responded with a cheeky smile.

"Go, girl," another lady said.

"I'm sorry to crash down on this, but there have been some last-minute changes."

They all turned to see Michael walking towards them. Nancy Howard was a network engineer with the Gary group, and she was the head of her team.

"What? I already have everything ready; what changed?" Nancy was shocked by the news.

"Well, I'm happy to announce that we were able to get Vectra onboard, and now she will be representing us today." Michael explained.

"Sorry to say this, but I think this is way beyond her league. I'm the best shot at getting us this project, and you know it." Nancy exclaimed, frustrated by the sudden change in plan.

"Says who?" Anna said from behind.

Everyone turned to see Anna standing there, looking elegant and calm as she looked down her nose at Nancy.

For a split second, Nancy was short of words, her face pale as she stumbled backward, placing her hand on the wall beside her for support as she mumbled, "Anna?"

"Oh, I see you know each other; then that's good," Michael said, smiling as he added, "Then it's settled."

"You're not dead?" Nancy stated, still looking shocked.

Anna inhaled sharply, her hands clenched in a fist at her side at Nancy's words. It was almost as if Nancy had been sure she was dead.

"Oops, you look like you've seen a ghost. Sorry, stepsister, but I'm alive," Anna said, her lips pulling up in a mocking smile.

Then it registered, almost as if the words had been in another language before.

"Wait, are you saying she is… Vectra!!" Nancy exclaimed.

The well-lit Victorian house sat silent, the only sound being the ticking of the clock from the living room.
