Lying on my bed, I let out a deep sigh, staring at the ceiling. My conversation with Mom replayed in my head. A party for Kiara. Of course, it had to be grand. Kiara Malhotra wasn’t the kind of person who’d settle for anything less. And working with Raj? That was the cherry on top of this perfect storm.

I groaned, rolling over onto my stomach and burying my face in the pillow. My peace was short-lived, though, as a knock sounded on the door.

“Miss Saira,” the familiar voice of the maid called. “Dinner is ready. Everyone is waiting for you downstairs.”
