"You are like a fallen angel I caught in my arms. So beautiful, so innocent and bright."
"Esta todo listo?" [Is everything ready?]
Alvaro Dominguez asked the man beside him, Marco Roman.
"Si, señor." [Yes, sir] the man replied, "The bride is on her way, ready for the wedding."
Alvaro raised his brows. For him, it was not a wedding. It was simply two people signing papers and accepting rings.
He disagreed with his friend, but he dared not say anything.
He didn't care what would happen a few hours from now.
He wasn't looking forward to meeting his soon-to-be wife, either.
Somehow, his instincts say that his bride would be spoiled and arrogant, just like any other woman he had met.
They were all the same to him.
But he was clueless of the truth. He decided not to check out the girl's file and background because 'he just knew' that she was what every other woman is... a bitch.
Oh, how clueless he was.

Sweet Genevieve watched as the car she was in moved along the road and trees. She couldn't contain her excitement; it has been a long time since she'd been in a car.
"Excuse me, Sir?" her gentle voice asked the man driving the vehicle "Is the ride still long?"
The man, enticed by the girl's beauty, took a long time before saying "A little, Ma'am. About two hours until the city."
She thanked the man and looked out the window once again. She said goodbye to her Mama Emilia earlier this day, her Mama silently crying and Genevieve caressing her back.
The goodbye was painful for the both of them.
But Genevieve had to be strong. For her Mama.
Her mother and Mr. Gomez explained that she was to be wedded today, but she still wondered.
If she was getting married today, why wasn't she wearing a wedding dress?
Wasn’t the bride supposed to wear white, beautiful gowns?
Why wasn't her Mama with her? She wanted her mother to be with her on her special day.
There was also no planning on her part. No invitation to her college friends, no picking of flowers or bouquets, no cake tasting, nothing.
'Is my wedding really today?' she thought 'Maybe there was a mistake?'
She didn't want a boring wedding.
Sure, she didn't want anything grand, but she wanted her wedding to be full of laughs and chatter. Not... this.
Genevieve disliked the idea of not knowing anything on her day. Her lips pouted, already not liking how her wedding day is turning out.
Add to the list that she disliked is the fact the she hadn't heard or seen her groom.
'What was he like?' she wondered again. 'Was he handsome? Did he tower my small height? Does he like flowers? Did he have any pets at his house? What was his home like?'
Dozens of questions flooded her mind, and minutes later, she found herself leaning on the car window. Eyes closing, mind shutting down.
Genevieve fell into a quick nap, not knowing what was waiting for her in the city.

Alvaro was getting impatient. He knew traffic was an obstacle in the highway, with vehicles going in and out of the city, but he had many things to do aside from waiting for his late bride.
He didn't bother calling his driver to ask where they were, he wasn't going to answer while driving.
He cracked his neck and fists, willing himself to prolong his patience and not punch the closest thing to him.
Why was he waiting around for a spoiled bitch?
His thoughts stopped when he saw his slick black car park outside the window. Finally.
He and Marco were at the Mayor's office, ready to sign marriage papers away. And now, his bride has arrived.
He went out the door, forehead creasing as to what's taking so long.
Was the woman waiting for him to open her door for her?
'Hell no.' he thought. He wasn't going to open doors for anyone anytime soon.
But as his driver nervously glanced at him and not seeing a shadow by the window, he knew what was happening.
The girl was asleep.
"M****a." [Shit]
He didn't want to waste any more time. So, with haste, he immediately went to the Genevieve's side of the door and opened it.
He wasn't expecting what came next.
Long, brown hair surrounded her soft face. Small eyes and nose, round lips.
A beauty found her way into his arms.
His breathing stopped. Her scent, oh her sweet scent. She smelled so good and sweet.
Alvaro wrapped his arms around her shoulders, feeling how small she was compared to him.
His impatientness and anger disappeared, replaced with softness as he longingly looked at the girl in his arms.
He had no clue what was happening to him.
All he knew was that he made the right decision to agree to Gomez's proposal.
"His eyes full of mischief. His lips forming a smirk. She was sure. He was the devil himself."Genevieve woke up disoriented and uncomfortable. Why was her bed so hard? It used to be soft and fluffy. She carefully opened her eyes, the lights from the ceiling blinding her for a moment. But those weren't her lights, and ceiling. She had the moon and stars in her own bedroom, lighting up the dark room whenever night came.'Where am I?' she wondered. She was about to call out to her mother before she remembered what happened. What was supposed to happen today. It wa
"She is beauty. She is grace. She is innocence in human flesh."Alvaro wanted to take back all the words he said. The girl in front of him was not a slut at all, nor a bitch. In fact, she was the exact opposite. She was so innocent and so little.Even now, as he slowly stood up, he can see the innocence beaming from her. Her mouth agape, and her eyes wide. She was a cute little darling. And he knew that the other three in the room thought the same. They were all staring at her, eyes amused. She provided innocent entertainment to the people around her.'No doubt' he thought 'she was adored in her little town.'The Mayor, who was beside Genevieve, and the man she thought was Alvaro Dominguez, shifted his eyes to him.The entertainment slowly faded, replaced with fear.He may be the Mayor of a large City, but that didn't mean he had the courage to face Alvaro Dominguez.
"He was her warmth. She was his peace. And they fit each other perfectly."Genevieve didn't think Mr. Alvaro was so bad. In fact, he was an actual gentleman.Ever since they left the Mayor's office, not once did he take his hands off of her. His huge and calloused hands wrapped around her small ones. It would also travel to her small hips to assist her when walking. The height difference between the two of them was apparent. The little wife only came up on Alvaro's chest, and he would stare down at her whenever he had the chance. Now, during lunch, he still couldn't take his eyes off of her.
"When your arms around me felt like home, I knew I had found a treasure."Genevieve woke up early the next day, the sun was only rising on the horizon. Opening her eyes slowly, she yawned and stretched her body. Small mewls left her mouth, and her eyes surveying her surroundings at the same time. The room she was in was ginormous, but plain at the same time.It was her husband’s room. And now, judging by how she woke up here, her room too.'It was so black and white and so black.' she thought, the colors not appeasing her. The room was beautiful of course, but the colors were making it
"Her laugh was love at first sight to the blind man in the dark cave." Alvaro gently set his wife down on one of the chairs on the dining room, appreciating the hearty breakfast that he prepared for her. He told the cook and the maids to take the week off, wanting Genevieve for himself. The food in the table made his stomach grown with hunger. The cook he had prepares plenty for the three meals of the day. But this morning, seeing the simple yet mouthwatering creation of his wife, he had a feeling that the cook would have to find another place to work at. Nobody's eating his dishes anytime soon. Not unless his wife is not around. Genevieve observed Alvaro as he stared at the food, waiting for him to sit down at the other side of the table so they could eat. But to her surprise, he sat down beside her instead. Her head tilted to the side. Her Mama Emilia said that when dining with someone, you si
"The hunger in her eyes woke the beast inside of him. Waiting to be unleashed, waiting to be fed. By her. By all of her."The day passed by quickly. With Genevieve spending time with the dogs, and Alvaro cooped up in his office, they didn't get much time with each other.Which caused Alvaro's patience to wear thin. He was hoping that the morning phone call would be his last for the day, but alas, the business deal just couldn't fucking wait.He wanted to spend the day with his wife, it was their first day as couples after all.Genevieve had lunch with herself, with the dogs by her side. She was really enjoying the
"I want to hold you in my arms. Close enough to make you feel what you do to my heart. I want to take your hand and walk you through my dreams, just to show you how much you mean to me.""Have you thought of a name yet, amor?"[Love]Alvaro asked, his eyes watching Genevieve as she pets both the dogs by their ears. They were preparing for bed now, but somehow,Genevieve managed to convince him to let the dogs inside their room. They were trained to stay outside, by their doghouse and the garage, but his little wife wanted them to sleep with her in the room.Nice. He had competition with the two dogs now.
"She gave me the light I needed and pulled me from the dark. She gave me the love I needed and wiped off all my marks."Genevieve slowly opened her eyes, the vivid sunlight from the room's window slightly blinding her eyes. She mewled and yawned, stretching her body. That was until she felt a heavy weight resting by her waist. She slowly looked beside her, following the arm that was on her waist and to the body of the man it belonged to. There lay Mr. Alvaro.Alvaro. Her husband.A shy blush bloomed on her cheeks. It was her first time sleeping next to a man, let alone cuddling with one. She remembered how he embraced her bef
"This is a happy ending without the ending. Because the two of us, our story, it doesn't end here." The book in her lap was still, pages gently waving in the wind as the cool air hit. The smell of freshly cut grass and different scents of flowers wafted to her nose, as well as the stew that was being cooked inside. Their garden looked more beautiful than ever, with the mix of blue from the sky as well as the pool, and the gentle yellow from the setting sun. Truly, this was where she belonged. Genevieve continued with the pages, her cardigan shielding her
"A mother's love. One of the most powerful thing in the world."The beeping noises softly reaching her ear woke Emilia. As she slowly blinked her eyes open, she had to re-adjust her sight to the light in the room. She could hear the noise near her right, and there was a stinging pain in her forehead as well as her wrists.Looking down, she realized that it was IV drips. For a quick moment, she wondered why she was here. Her medications for maintenance helped her keep her health in check, and she was quite fine and healthy."What..." she muttered. Her confusion was eminent as she continued to look around. The reason why she was here, or what happened. But then everything slowly came back to her, one by one.The explosion, the fire, the burning. The employees. Alvaro. Alvaro panicking and driving away. Marco telling her that everything is going to be fine. The drive to the hospital.Tha
"Being here without you is like I'm waking up to only half a blue sky, kind of there but not quite. I'm walking round with just one shoe. I'm half a heart without you."Genevieve slowly blinked her eyes open as she didn't feel any pain. Her ears were ringing from the loud sound of collision and crashing, her body was shaking from fear, but she wasn't hurt. Well, not any further from the scratches earlier. Her eyes wandered to Lucy's side, where she was also looking outside to see what had happened. There were no scratches or pain inflected among them, and Isaac's black car wasn't where it was just seconds earlier.Instead, it was a few steps over in front of them. Side broken, and another car's hood was smoking as it suffered the crash. The car was, again, familiar to her.It was her mother's.Astrid.Genevieve jolted in surprise when a hand pounded her side of the window and was more
"The only thing I ever really want is to be with you. Because with you, here by my side, the world seems a little nicer and better."Genevieve felt the dizziness hit her as her head bumped to the window on her side. Lucy couldn't stop the impact, as she herself was tossed by the force of the car behind them hitting their rear bumper. The fear crawled, a vine inside of Genevieve when she felt her body hum in pain from the impact. They were in the middle of the road, car still running, yet their pursuer seemed determined to hurt them in many ways possible. It was a soft hum in her brain, but her heart constricted in fear of her losing the baby. She was still early, barely two m
"And when you're scared, just look me in the eyes and hold me tight. I'm not going anywhere, you're safe with me. I promise.""Genevieve!"He was frantic, sweating and scared. All over, he called her name. He searched every corner of the house, pushing against the men who were guarding their post in the big house.Eyes wide and hands shaking, Alvaro pulled out his phone and continued calling her, wishing that she'd answer.Marina didn't know where Genevieve went, just that she was with Lucy and Jun was driving, as well as two guard following suit in th
"I've never been so scared of losing something in my life. But then again, nothing in my life has ever meant as much to me as you.""Any objections?"Alvaro sat at the head of the table as the meeting progressed. They were in the conference rooms, together with the heads of the departments of his company. As well as Astrid and some lawyers. It was the end of the week, and all through out of it, all he did was investigate the insects in his company. Turns out, his head of finance has been embezzling money from their profits, as well as pooling with his partners o increase their percentage of return for their investment. He was
"My love will follow you where you go or what you do. No matter how far, no matter how long. For I am your mother, and you my daughter. My love for you is forever.""Are you sure you're okay?" Alvaro asked his wife who was cuddled in his arms as they lay in bed. It was some time past noon, and they didn't bother getting up yet. They slept late, and they were both tired and pleased at the hours they spent in the bedroom. They needed it. It has been days since they've been like this, so close.Genevieve hummed in agreement, patting his arm lightly as she did. He was so worried, it was silly. That was the third time he asked if she was okay.
"She wore her truth in her eyes, molded stones of love and tragedy. Freckled constellations of pleasures and pain from a life's true story."Alvaro stared at the blooded art. The golden frame broken, with the blood splattered across every inch. The beautiful yellow flowers that were his wife's favorite bled red.He spared no glance to the ripped documents and furniture in the room. His office was now cleaned up, although still ruined, by the people Corazon called in.The furniture, the sofa, cabinets and tables. They were all set aside one corner in the room, ready to be thrown in dump. Except for the painting that sat on the floor, against the wall where it was formerly placed.
"Like ice melts into rain, sometimes love turns into pain. And how he wished he could take away hers."Alvaro leaned against the door frame of their room, staring at his wife's back as she remained lying down on their bed. She was faced on the window, the sunset rays streaming light inside. It's been four days since the night at the restaurant, and after Genevieve cried in the car, not once has she spoken to any of them. Not him, not Emilia, not even Lucy. She shut herself out. And even though he wanted to talk to her, to tell her he was sorry, he didn't try to.She was collecting herself, in her own space. It was for the best. And he'd let her, even if it takes long.
