I swallowed my sneeze, blinking to stop my tears. I shook my head and kept the needle on the little girl's left arm, but my vision started getting blurred, and I was feeling lightheaded.

My heat was going inside. Because of the suppressants I took, my scent was kept hidden. But the pain was still the same. My body was totally on fire, making it almost impossible to stay on my feet, and I couldn't even do my duty right.

But I tried. I took a deep breath keeping the needle again, but my hand started shaking. The little girl looked at my shaky hands with a blank face.

"Win, you just told me you have a fever. What are you even doing here?!!" one of my colleagues yelled, pushing me aside. "I'll cover your shift now. Get your ass out of here." she scolded.

I couldn't argue because I wanted a damn break. I hugged her from behind and went out of the room. The tension in my head about vaccinating the little kids left my mind as soon as she asked me to leave, and I knew I couldn't have done it correctly with my dizziness.

I removed my gloves and washed my hands first. Then heading off to the nurse's room, I took a changed myself back to casual wearing. Before leaving the room, I put on three layers of masks as a precaution. Then I took my belongings and stepped out of the room. When I walked down the corridors, I didn't make eye contact and tried to be away from the outsiders as much as possible. There were many alphas everywhere, and I tried my best not to get intimidated by the emitting pheromones of the alphas.

According to books, when an omega's in heat, their sexual arousal rises. But I've never faced that cause I always took medicine to keep it down. Though I took the pills, I still couldn't handle an alpha's scent during the heat, which intimidated me.

When I was small, Jo took care of me when I went on heat. But since we grew up and had our things to do, I had to survive alone.

I went to the precise area of the hospital where the entrance reception and pharmacy were. Just then, I heard a commotion.

"We can't handle his heat scent at home! It's trouble to our neighbors!" I heard a woman yell.

"Ma'am, he's still small to take suppressants. We only allow omegas older than eighteen to have them." I heard a male's voice.

I went over to take a peek.

As I can remember, I took suppressants when I turned sixteen. But it was not good for health, I heard, which was the only solution I found.

I saw a boy about sixteen years old on the floor crying. A woman was looking at him in disgust, and so did the passersby.

"It might be a sin I did that I got an omega child." the woman started ranting continuously.

The doctor excused and went to his work. I stood there looking at both the woman and child, and the woman still didn't leave.

"What are you looking at?" the woman asked.

"N-nothing. I just... work in the hospital." I quickly muttered, leaving the place. I felt terrible about the kid, but I couldn't speak up or be the hero because I was a pathetic omega who hid his identity and became a beta to the world. Everything was only to get love.

I shook off the thoughts standing in front of the hospital's pharmacy.

"Hello. What do you want?" my friend there asked.

"Fever, dude. Gimme something." I said, resting my face on the counter cause I was wearing the mask.

She nodded, messing around with some boxes and writing something on paper.

"Just take this fever reducer and take rest. I know you don't like taking medicine," she said, giving me a single pill that was neatly in a small envelope.

Trust me; I take more than ten pills a day just to hide my scent. And during heat, it might be more than thirty a day.

"Sure. You know me." I muttered. Then I bought a water bottle from the cafeteria drinking the pill.

Again I made my way out of the hospital when,

"Win." a familiar voice called me.

I groaned and turned around to face to face meeting with the businessman. Damn it, the idiot—the person I didn't want to meet.

He winked, holding his hand in front of me.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"I am here to pick you up~ Hold my hand, princess~ uh... you look pale, by the way."

"Just a little fever. No worries." I said, completely ignoring the 'princess' part.

"No, wait."

He stopped me, and his right hand gently pressed on my forehead. He withdrew his hand as soon as it touched my forehead.

"You are boiling. Let's go home quickly!" he said with a concerned expression taking all my belongings into his hands.

I saw some of my colleagues squealing in a corner, looking at us. I rolled my eyes walking out quickly. I didn't want them to ship us. Bright had to carry all my things to his Porsche? Ugh, rich bustard.

"How many vehicles do you have again?" I asked as he drove off.

"One."

"Liar."

"Okay, two."

"Liar."

"No, I have two only, no more. You want one?"

"Nope."

Our conversation died. But it wasn't like before. We traveled with comfortable silence other than tension. The radio played a song, and Bright hummed along with it. I watched as the other side vehicles passed while listening to him.

"Bright."

"Hmm."

"What... do you think of-... omegas?" I asked, shutting my eyes tightly. He spent a good second before answering.

"Why should I think of omegas when you are here~?"

"...what?! Not like... that. I mean, the-the society dislikes them... so.. do you?"

"I..." I looked at him eagerly, waiting for his answer.

"Honestly, I never thought about it."

"What? No, just tell me what you think of them!" I demanded.

"Umm, I don't know. I've never really thought about it."

Just tell me something, you dumbass!! I want to know!!!

"Why'd you ask?"

"Just... uh, before you came here, a woman brought an omega. She wanted his son to have suppressants so his scent won't bother others. But he was young for those medicines. And she called the boy a sin she did before... which was so rude..."

" "

"It's like... omegas are some disease!" I whispered the last part with a tear dropping from my eye, and I didn't even know why I was crying.

Bright stopped the Porsche by the side, turning to me.

"Hey, please don't have to cry... I know... it's unfair, but did that scene hurt you?"

"So much! I... felt sad. Why do people dislike omegas this much??"

"You don't know?" he asked.

"No."

"It's because their body is weak and because of their heat cycle. People didn't like the fact that omegas on heat can turn on alphas just by the scent."

"Is... that a sin? It's not their fault, but..."

"I don't know. Are you feeling good now?"

"No. Do you think in the future people will love omegas?"

"Maybe, but it'll take time."

"Why? Like one year?"

He laughed. "No. Maybe a hundred years. Do you think this idea of hating omegas just came to society in one week? It's tough to change what other people think of."

"Oh... so Bright, what do you suggest?"

"Umm, because people don't have equal thoughts, there are still some people who like them... I guess. So it's all fine."

I nodded. Bright pat my head with a smile again, looking at the road. We drove off then. I wiped the stupid tears calming down.

At least Bright doesn't disgust them.

That thought made me feel okay. For some reason, I didn't want him to dislike omegas. Moreover, I didn't want him to regret chasing me after my secret comes out in the future.

It was like living with a fireball. I always felt scared, and I knew that the truth might come out someday because no secret lasts long.

By that time, I'd already said millions of lies to hide my real identity. To conceal those million, I have told another million. I became an unreal person. So truthfully, I was a damn liar.

But I still had to peacefully live with loved ones because I was afraid of being unloved.

"Do you want cotton candy?"

"Huh?"

"There! There's a cotton candy man. You want one?"

My eyes sparkled since it had been a while I last ate one.

"YES!"

Bright chuckled, ruffling my hair. It turned out messing my hair was his new way of expressing his love.

"Wait a minute," he said, stopping the vehicle and going out. I watched as he spoke with the man over there and paid the money.

It felt new... it all felt unique having him. I only had friends all the years, and I was never treated the way Bright did. He stopped the vehicle just to buy me a cotton candy stick.

He was someone I didn't deserve and someone worth all the world's love.

"Ah." he handed it to me, dropping to the driver's seat. I took it gratefully, first removing masks and taking a bite from the corner.

He started the vehicle again then we drove off. He didn't buy him one, only for me? I wanted to share since it was he who bought me the candy.

I poked the corner of the cotton candy stick to his lips. He looked at me in confusion for a while, so I poked again.

"You don't mind?" he asked.

"Uhm, a little bit of saliva won't hurt," I mumbled.

He visibly blushed, taking a teeny bite from it.

I, too, blushed when I heard my own words. That sounded so dirty. Yuck.

Think before speaking Win! I scolded myself in my mind.

That day for the very first time, we shared food. Thinking about it, we looked like a couple that day.

He came to pick me up from work, and he carried my things to the vehicle. Then he bought me cotton candy, and we shared it.

Yuck, too cheesy.

But if those minor interactions didn't happen that day, maybe we won't be together today. His head won't rest on my lap as we watch movies, and we won't cuddle.

Our story's progress was really slow because I was in denial the whole time.

But that little single-cell kept on betraying me.

Maybe the cell influenced the other cells.

Good thing the cell betrayed me.

Let's try to find the books he might need." I said. Our conversation got cut off by a little 'bonk' sound and as I looked to my right I saw Bubble beaming at nowhere while holding his leg. I assumed he hit his leg somewhere. "Hello little one." I cooed and pat his head from the same position I was. Then I gently hoisted him up to my lap. "I am sleepy." he said with a pout. "Let's have lunch first and go for a nappy?" I asked and he nodded with the same pout. "You both have the same pout." Bright commented adding; "It's cute, but at the same time hard to resist. Tsk." Bright said with a fake sullen face. I stuck my tongue out at him while Bubble wriggled on my lap. "I am hungry." he said again trying to reach for my hand which was in front of him. When he couldn't find my hand, I moved my hand and touched his, so he caught it

I collected the soft plushies which were on the ground and flopped them on bed. Then I walked around picking different shapes of building blocks groaning when I accidently stepped on a triangle shaped block. I could hear tiny giggles and two familiar voices down in the living room. I could also hear whizzing sounds and clickity clack sounds coming from the kitchen. After clearing the room and cleaning up the mess I sighed in relief. Then I went out of the bedroom and walked towards the living room in which I could see both the living room and the kitchen at the same time cause there wasn't a full wall separating the two parts. It was only one fours of height of wall. To my left was the kitchen where Bright was busy making lunch, more like burning my pans. To my right was five year old Bubble; busy playing some unknown game with Joss and Luke. And when I said Luke, it was the same Luke who made an appeal against Bright, the same person who confessed of trying to kill me when I was
