(Eve’s POV)

“Do you have to remarry?” Bethany asked curiously after our long debate on whom I should choose.

We talked about it, and I listened to their opinions about Ben, Bernard, and Wyatt for the last two hours, from the coffee shop to the shopping mall. For Marga’s sake, we had to return to the mall to buy more baby stuff. The Christmas rush made me dizzy as the days inched to December 25th. I agreed to come to shop for the kids, but the crowded mall made it impossible for me to think about what to buy for them.

I wrinkled my nose, shrugging my shoulders because the answer I had to her question was something I would never dare share at the moment.

“She’s lonely,” Marga chuckled.

Bethany rolled her eyes. “She has me. Us.”

Marga stopped entering the baby clothes shop and turned to Bethany. She pouted and shook her head. “We can’t make her happy, Beth.”

Bethany lifted a brow. “We’ve been doing that for many years.”
