Hannah and Norae flew up high into the sky while striking their weapons against each other’s. They went blow for blow, hit for hit, light against light, each determined to gain the edge against the other as sparks of lightning generated from the clangs their weapons made as they struck.Norae suddenly did a 360 swirl and swung her spear at Hannah’s chest but she was able to block against the hit. It blasted her across the sky and away from Norae who threw her spear at her. The spear came to a stop in front of Hannah and tried to stab her multiple times by itself. Norae was using her telekinesis to control the spear and attack Hannah with it. Hannah had to be quick and sharp as she blocked the floating spear. Norae called the weapon back to her hand and flew at Hannah again. They continued their dance, slicing and swiping at each other, a series of hits that seemed unlikely to yield a victor because of how equally matched they were. Norae held up her spear with both hands and transfo
The angels were still brawling it out with their fists, trading heavy punches hard enough to break down mountains. Norae was still attacking as relentlessly as ever, not holding back her punches and hitting Hannah with everything she had.Hannah fought back but whenever she did, her sister always had an answer for it. She would throw a punch but Norae would avoid it every time. It was almost like she could read Hannah’s mind and knew what she was going to do before she even did it. Hannah threw another punch but Norae grabbed her arm and threw her over her shoulder. She blasted after her in the sky and punched her on the body multiple times, blasting her across the eye of the desert. Hannah caught one of Norae’s fists and countered with an uppercut of her own. Both of them were bleeding as Norae had a busted lip and Hannah had a bruised eye. They held on to each other and traded blows. Their wings weren’t in use while they exchanged hits so they plummeted from the sky and were fallin
The next morning, Isabelle woke up on Josh’s bed but he was not there with her. He had already left for work a few hours ago because he had to see to some things at the office. She decided to sleep in because she was very tired after what happened to her last night so he left her a note on the nightstand before leaving. She rolled over on the bed and saw the note sitting right there. She reached for it and read its contents out loud, “Good morning, love. Sorry to not have woken up by your side but I had to go to the office. If you don’t have to go home, then I’d like you to stay there and wait for me because I don’t want to come and not find you there. Love you always, Josh,” Isabelle read. She smiled at the note and blushed at his words. She really didn’t have the intention of leaving before because she still had three days to prepare before she’d have to go back to work so she didn’t mind staying over at his place for another night. She got out of bed and went downstairs to Josh’s k
Fawn was locked up in her hearth, shut off from the rest of Heaven, serving her punishment for her disobedience against God that could cost the world to become the Devil’s permanent playground. She was in the dark with no lie around her and it had been a few months in human time but in her time, it felt like centuries. The loneliness was like a prison that trapped her soul from the rays of joy and gladness and she felt empty inside. Angels were normally happy beings, made pure and without sin but just like everything, they could be corrupted and Fawn felt that way entirely. She didn’t feel like an angel anymore and it was fair to feel that way because she wasn’t complete. It hadn’t been that long since her punishment began but she had lost her light and didn’t know if she would ever get it back. Then, she felt a rumble as her hearth rolled open and God moved into it and graced her with his presence. She was not expecting him to come here and yet, here he was.“Father,” She bowed at hi
866 A.DA year passed since the day that tremendous storm struck Amania and miraculously, no one was killed in the hurricane. A lot of buildings were destroyed though and a lot of trees, crops and vegetation were made useless. Schools, tents for prayers, people’s homes, the den of the Elders, and even the hurricane shed suffered major damage. The worst thing the town faced was the destruction of the ship that was being constructed by the men. A ship that was supposed to serve as a milestone in the people’s history; building a vessel that could carry an entire village of people while floating on the ocean. Every part that they had nailed together was ripped apart and they were set back by many years before they would be expected to finish it.The wildlife also suffered as many of their animals were drowned in the storm. Even the natural wildlife in the ocean suffered the rage of the sea. Animals like fish, dolphins, turtles, whales, sharks, marlins and many more were washed off into the
"Garin, are you there?” Hannah called out to him with her hand out for him.“I’m here, my love. I’m right here,” Garin said and took her hand.Isabelle had asked him to move Hannah to Josh’s bed so she could be more comfortable and so he did. He had tried to heal her again but his power to heal was just gone and he couldn’t do anything to help her.“Garin, stop trying. It’s not going to work,” She said to him about trying to heal her wounds.“I don’t understand why this isn’t working. You taught me how to do it in Harlem but why isn’t it working now?” Garin said in frustration. He placed his hands on her body and tried again but she stopped him.“Stop it, Garin, just stop,” She held his hands, “Don’t worry about that right now. I’ll get better soon even if it’s not by your hands.”“What can I do, Hannah? Tell me what I can do to make you feel better,” He asked, desperate to ease her pain in any way he could.“Tell me the story about the painter, the Queen and the King. I always loved
“What do you need me to do for you?” Selene asked Jennifer.Selene was a woman who looked like she was in her late fifties. She was African-American and had a luscious head of grey dreadlocks. She was wearing a dress made of African-inspired prints and had a head tie on. She also had a scar on her left eye and just four fingers on her right hand. Overall, she was a strange-looking lady and anyone would be weary of her and her voodoo but not Jennifer.Jennifer liked the woman’s looks because it made her feel convinced that she was a legit shaman and would be able to help her accomplish her goal to get Josh for herself.“I want to speak to someone and I need your help to summon them,” Jennifer said to the shaman.“Who do you wish to speak to? A dead relative, a ghost from a past life, a…”“A demon,” Jennifer cut in, “I want you to help summon a demon,” She said again. The shaman looked at her with shock and awe in her one good eye. This was a strange request, the strangest she had ever
Back at Josh's home, Hannah and Garin were getting ready to leave. She was feeling a lot better now and her wounds were healed, not completely but good enough to get back out there. The lovers stood in the middle of the living room, tightly holding on to each other as they prepared to go. Garin held Hannah in his hands and kissed her forehead while whispering a few things to her. They were about to venture out and face the might of the angels and even if they managed to win that battle, they knew another one would be waiting for them in the form of Gentel and Sader.Realistically, they didn't stand a chance and they both knew it but, they weren't going to give up. They had made it through so much worse to surrender now and if they were to die, they would go down fighting."Are you both going to be okay?" Isabelle asked them.Hannah moved away from Garin's arms and walked over to the human. She took Isabelle's hands in hers and smiled at her."I'm not going to lie to you, Isabelle. The
Later that night, Jennifer was asleep in her apartment when she felt a soft breeze blow around her which was accompanied by a weird sound. She opened her eyes and sat on her bed. “Summum? Is that you?” She called out, thinking the God had returned. “That ship has sailed, my dear and a new one has come to replace it,” A man’s voice said to her. In fear, Jennifer reached for the lamp on her nightstand and turned it on. She looked down at her bed and saw a man sitting in front of her with his legs crossed. “Hello, my dear. I’ve come to collect,” Lucifer said. “Who are you and what do you mean by that?” Jennifer asked, still scared. “You made a deal with one of my children and although she’s dead now, that deal remains and you were never able to deliver,” He said. A look of realization suddenly appeared on Jennifer’s face. This strange man was talking about her deal with Gentel and he had referred to her as “one of his children” and that could only mean one thing; HE WAS THE DEVIL H
“Take a seat and let’s talk," Jennifer slowly walked over to her messed-up couch and took a seat, all the while without tearing her gaze away from the strange woman. “I can’t talk business with someone if I don’t know their name, now can I?” Jennifer asked, less afraid and more confident. She could tell that whoever this woman was, she wasn’t here to hurt her. She needed something from her which meant that she was valuable and if she was valuable, she surely wouldn’t be hurt. “Don’t flatter yourself, Jennifer. You’re my first choice but it doesn’t mean that you’re my only choice so I would advise you to maintain your fear of me,” The woman told her after reading her mind. She walked over to the table in front of the couch and sat on it, facing Jennifer. “My name is Summum, but you can call me Sue,” She said. “What are you?” Jennifer asked. “I am a God, and not one of those pagan monkeys that humans all worship…I am a real God, equal in many ways with the one who made the world
Isabelle moaned with pleasure as Josh broke into her. She clenched her fist around the bed sheets and closed her eyes as he settled inside her. Her dark eyes remained dark as Summum’s power rose within the two of them. They were now at the point of no return, performing the act that would birth the last Nephalem and begin the revolution. “Take me, Josh. Don’t stop,” Isabelle moaned, willing him to go further, deeper, harder and faster. Josh drove himself into her and back out again, never slowing down the rhythm of his lovemaking. As he lay on her, he raised his head so he could look into her eyes and when he did, they were normal and they were so inviting. Josh kissed her lips, fondling her tongue with his while moving his hips. They both groaned and moaned, enjoying the feel of their bodies, basking in the heat emanating from them and loving every single piece of the moment they were sharing. Just outside the house, the winds were blowing strongly and howling loudly because of th
Back in the shaman’s store, Hannah and Garin went back inside and found Selene flipping through a book that was placed on the table. “Is that book that has the spell we need?” Garin asked the shaman.“Yes, it is. Somewhere in its pages are a series of instructions, a list of all the ingredients needed to make a potion and the incantation that will get the Neph out,” Selene replied. She looked up and noticed the woman that was standing beside Garin and she could tell that Hannah wasn’t human despite looking like one. It didn’t take long before Selene sensed what Hannah was and she looked at her questioningly. “Um, Selene, this is my wife, Hannah,” Garin introduced her when he noticed the shaman staring at her. “Your wife?” Selene was shocked to hear this, “But, isn’t she a…?” “Yeah, she is. That isn’t important for now. Have you found the spell?” Garin asked. “Yeah, I have,” Selene said and tried to restore her focus to the task at hand, “Here it is,” She pointed at a page in the
In the middle of the night, Garin woke up to the sound and feel of the wind coming into the room through the open door. He sat up and his eyes immediately fell on Hannah who was asleep, still facing the direction away from him. He turned his gaze away from her and looked at the entry point, wondering why the door was wide open. He looked over at the other side of the room and saw that neither Layla nor Kessie were on their mat-bed. “Oh no,” He whispered and dashed to his feet. Hannah woke up to the sound of his movement and looked at him, wondering what was going on. “What is it, Garin?” She asked as she sat up. “The girls are gone,” Garin told her as he went to search through their things. “What?” Hannah asked in shock, “What happened to them? Where did they go?” “I don’t know, Hannah. I just woke and noticed that they weren’t here,” He said while looking into his satchel, “…and neither is my bag of coins,” he added. They realized now that Layla had taken off with her sister a
875 A.DAs the pack of wolves surrounded Garin, he was filled with a sense of dread and fear, knowing fully well that these animals were hungry and they were not going to be easy to get away from. Garin was unarmed and outnumbered and the only weapon he could find was a large stick of firewood. He picked up the log and spun around several times, trying to spot each wolf from every angle that they were coming.Garin counted seven wolves and they were all growling at him, snarling with their extremely long fangs, preparing to attack and claim their meal. “You dogs want a piece of me?” Garin asked aggressively, swinging his log around, “Well, come and get it,” he taunted the wolves.Three of the seven wolves launched a simultaneous attack from different angles as they dashed at him to rip him apart. Two pounced toward him but he rolled out of the way and they collided with each other in mid-air. The third wolf attack Garin who was crouched on the ground but he swung at it with the log a
Hannah appeared inside the copy room which was dark so she used her power to switch on the light bulb. The room was brighter now and Hannah was able to look around for anything out of the ordinary so she could have some idea about who or what attacked Isabelle. She heightened the sense of her eyesight and scanned the room, looking for any traces or remnants of a Celestial or a Supreme so she could figure it out but she couldn’t find anything. Hannah decided to leave but just as she was about to, she heard something flutter just ahead of her, in the corner of the room and she walked over and bent down to inspect what it was. Just as she suspected, it was a remnant of a Celestial. It was like a sprinkle of dark fog that had settled down at the bottom of the floor and Hannah reached out and touched it.As her hand made contact with the fog, it stung her sharply and as she felt the pain, she recognized it. It was the same pain that she felt when she was cut by the Nephalem’s weapon back i
"I think we have to test this out, just to be sure," Josh said."I am sure, Josh. Your assistant can see me even though I'm cloaked," Garin said.Josh didn't listen to what the demon was saying. He grabbed his office phone and called Karen's desk and asked her to see him in his office.Karen got off the phone and walked over and into Josh's office, wondering why he called her up."Yes, sir. What can I do for you?" She asked."Yes, Karen. I just wanted to know if we've received any orders from China recently. It's been a while since our customers over there bought our brand," He said."I'm sorry, sir but that's not the department I work with so I wouldn't have that information," Karen answered."Oh! My mistake," Josh said apologetically and saw an opening to squeeze in the question, "Before you go, tell me; Is there anyone in here right now except the two of us?" He asked.Karen looked around and was a little weirded out by the question but she couldn't tell her boss how she truly felt
“It was always so simple, Sagarus,” Lucifer said to The Tormentor, “I had finally managed to have a chance to screw my father and take everything from him. I got him to accept the bet, I got him to put his entire power and control on the line and just when I was about to grab on to it, it slips away as it always has because, as it turns out, there’s another supreme being that’s just so conveniently been thrown into the mix and also wants the power for himself,” He vented.Sagarus wasn’t really known to say much so he just listened to Lucifer and grunted in agreement. They were in Lucifer’s chambers where the devil was contemplating how to turn the tide back in his favour.“What am I supposed to do now, Sagarus? How am I supposed to get anything out of this when the real fight starts?” Lucifer asked and turned to his demon for some advice; any advice at all.“I don’t know, my lord,” Sagarus replied, much to the devil’s dislike.“That’s not what I want to hear, Sag. You’re one of my old
