Kamrynn's POV

“I’m so sorry,” I say quickly, my own voice barely a whisper, guilt swelling inside me for having touched such a raw nerve. “I didn’t mean to—”

“It’s alright,” Rmonica interrupts gently, though her voice trembles. “You couldn’t have known.” She takes a deep breath, as if trying to steady herself, but I can see that the effort costs her. “My mate and I… we’ve been trying for so many years.” Her voice wavers, and she pauses, as though she’s pulling the words from some deep, dark place. “We’ve had so many moments of hope. You know, that spark that flares up with the first missed period, or the first flutter of a heartbeat on an ultrasound… Every time, I thought, ‘This is it. This is finally it.’”

Her gaze drifts toward the window, as if she’s looking far beyond it, back to all those moments of brief joy that ended in despair. “But each time… each time, it slipped away. I’ve had more miscarriages than I can count,” she continues, her voice breaking on the last word, “and ev

Kamrynn's POVI stare, frozen in place, my mind spinning as the realization settles in. Luna? The woman I had just been speaking to so freely, sharing stories and laughing with… she’s the Luna of the Blue Bell Pack? The shock courses through me like a jolt of electricity, followed by a wave of dread. I scramble out of the bed despite the searing pain in my ribs and legs, an attempt to bow to Rmonica. “L-Luna, I— I’m so sorry! I didn’t know—”“Shhh,” Rmonica hushes me gently, her hands already on my shoulders, pressing me back down onto the bed. “None of that now. You’re still in no condition to be moving about,” she says, her voice as soothing as the touch of a mother’s hand. “There’s no need for all the formality.”I let her guide me back onto the pillows, my heart pounding with both embarrassment and relief. “I’m so sorry,” I whisper, wincing as I try to settle comfortably. “I didn’t mean to speak to you so casually. I had no idea—”“It’s alright, Kamrynn,” Rmonica interrupts, shaki

Kamrynn's POVFor a while, I couldn’t shake the feeling that my meeting with Rmonica was just a dream. It seemed too surreal, too kind of her to visit me every day. Yet, day after day, there she was, slipping into my hospital room with a warm smile and a soft greeting. It didn’t take long before it sank in—this was real. She was real. The Luna of the Blue Bell Pack had truly become… my friend.“It’s funny, you know,” I say one morning as we sit together, the room filled with the soft morning light. “I keep expecting to wake up and find out you’re just a figment of my imagination.”Rmonica chuckles, her gray eyes sparkling with humor. “If I’m a figment, then I must be a very talkative one,” she quips. “You think your imagination would get tired of me by now.”I laugh, though it makes my ribs ache. “No, I don’t think that’s possible.” There’s a lightness in my chest that feels foreign, like I’ve forgotten what it’s like to laugh this much. “You’re really easy to talk to. It’s almost lik

I’d been given a second chance, but the uncertainty of my future here still looms like a dark cloud. The moment we arrive at the palace, I am struck speechless. The sight that greets me is beyond anything I could have imagined. The palace looms grand and majestic, its elegant spires reaching toward the sky as if trying to touch the heavens. Elaborate carvings adorn the stone walls, and gold trim glistens in the sunlight. Everything about it—the scale, the design, th

Kamrynn's POV A red-haired woman with a freckled face, her belly round with pregnancy, stands with her hands on her hips, her voice sharp and angry. “Why are you being so difficult, Rmonica? This is ridiculous!” she yells, her tone laced with frustration. “You’re being selfish and unfair, and I’m sick of it!”It takes me a moment to realize that the pregnant woman must be Eloane—the very person Rmonica had spoken so highly of. The recognition hits me like a blow, and I glance at Rmonica, who looks distraught. Her usual calm demeanor is gone, replaced by a visible strain. Her eyes glisten with unshed tears as she tries to reason with Eloane.“Eloane, please,” Rmonica’s voice wavers, thick with emotion. “I’m not trying to be difficult. You know I appreciate everything you’re doing for me… but there are some things we need to discuss. I only want—”“You only want everything to be your way!” Eloane snaps, her voice trembling with anger. “Well, newsflash, Rmonica—it’s not all about you!”

Kamrynn’s POVTiona leads me down a hallway and stops in front of a door. “This is your room, Kamrynn,” she says, opening the door with a small smile. As I step inside, my jaw nearly drops. The room is enormous, with soft blue walls, polished wood floors, and delicate furnishings that seem more fitting for a guest than a maid. The bed is covered in a plush quilt, and a tall window lets in golden afternoon light that bathes the room in warmth. There’s even a little sitting area with a small bookshelf and a chair in the corner.I turn to Tiona, still unable to believe it. “Is… is this really my room?”Tiona chuckles, shaking her head at my reaction. “Yes, dear, it’s yours. The Luna herself had it prepared for you.”A surge of gratitude fills me, and I bite my lip, trying to hold back tears. “Rmonica…” I murmur softly, mostly to myself. She’s done so much for me already, more than I ever could have expected. “Thank you, Tiona. And please, thank the Luna for me.”Tiona smiles. “I’ll pass

Kamrynn's POV She turns back, giving me her full attention. “Of course. What is it?”I hesitate, unsure if I should bring it up. Her kind expression encourages me, but I still feel a weight of reluctance. “It… It's about your altercation with Eloane earlier. I couldn’t help but notice how she… spoke to you.” I look down, fumbling with the edge of my dress. “I don’t mean to pry. It’s just… seeing her treat you that way bothered me.”I brace myself for her reaction, half-expecting her to be annoyed or dismissive. Rmonica’s expression shifts, and for a moment, a shadow of sadness crosses her face. She nods slowly, taking a seat in the chair by the window. “It’s alright, Kamrynn,” she says softly. “I appreciate your concern.” She pauses, then sighs heavily, her gaze fixed on the floor. “Eloane wasn’t always like this. When we were younger, she was like a sister to me. She cared for me, watched over me, and we shared everything. But ever since she got pregnant with my child… she's changed

Kamrynn’s POVThat night, I dream of Rmonica, and it’s one of the strangest, most vivid dreams I’ve ever had.I see her standing in a beautiful, sprawling garden, surrounded by vibrant, colorful flowers. She moves gracefully from one bed of flowers to another, smiling as she gently tends to each bloom, touching each petal as if it were precious. Her hands are tender, her face calm and content, filled with the joy of caring for something she loves. But as night falls, the atmosphere changes. A figure cloaked in shadows slips into the garden, moving silently among the flowers. The figure pulls out a small vial and pours something dark and viscous over the soil, careful not to disturb a single leaf. They disappear into the darkness just as silently as they came. The next morning, Rmonica returns, a look of horror crossing her face as she sees the flowers beginning to wilt, their once-brilliant colors dimming. She kneels, her hands trembling as she tries to revive the plants, watering the

After breakfast, I’ll let you know what other chores are on your schedule.”“Thank you, Tiona,” I say, feeling a rush of relief.I step out of the kitchen, planning to take a moment to check on Rmonica. My mind wanders back to last night’s strange dream—the withering flowers, Rmonica’s distress, and the cloaked figure in the shadows. And then, there’s Eloane. The things I saw this morning, her secretive behavior… None of it makes sense, yet I can’t shake the feeling that something’s wrong.Lost in thought, I turn the corner—and collide headlong into someone. Before I can react, a hand shoves me hard in the chest, sending me stumbling backward. Kamrynn's POV I lay sprawled on my bed, staring at the ceiling as my thoughts churned like a raging storm. The encounter with Kyven and Thalia had left me raw, both physically and emotionally. My cheek ached, my split lip throbbed, and my pride—well, that was shattered beyond repair. My body begged for rest, but my mind wouldn’t relent. The soft click of the door opening pulled me out of my spiraling thoughts. I turned my head just as Rmonica stepped inside, her ever-watchful eyes scanning the room.“There you are,” she said, her voice light but tinged with concern. “I’ve been looking for you. How are you feeling? You looked like you needed some air earlier.”I forced a weak smile, pushing myself up to sit. “I’m fine. Just tired, that’s all.”Her brow furrowed slightly, and she stepped closer, her gaze locking onto my face. She froze mid-step, her eyes widening as she took in the bruise on my cheek and the dried blood on my split lip.“Kamrynn,” she said sharply, closing the distance

Please, Kamrynn, let me go!” Her voice cracked with desperation, but I wasn’t convinced. “You’re lying!” I hissed, yanking her head back. “Confess!”“I swear, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” she sobbed, her tears flowing freely now.The sound of a door slamming open made us both jump. I released her, turning just in time to see Kyven storming out of Thalia’s bathroom. His hair was damp, and a towel was slung low around his waist.“What the hell is going on here?” he demanded, his eyes blazing as he took in the scene.I froze, my brain struggling to process the implications of his presence. Then my eyes darted to the corner of the bed, where his shirt lay in a crumpled heap. Realization hit me like a punch to the gut. They just had sex. You gave us all such a scare.”I sat up slowly, managing a small smile. “I’m fine, really. There’s no need to worry.”“No need to worry?” Amara repeated, dropping onto the edge of my bed with a huff. “You were out cold for two days, Kamrynn. Two days! Kamrynn's POV I floated in a vast expanse of black water, the abyss stretching endlessly in every direction. There was no light, no sound, no sense of up or down. The oppressive silence pressed against me, thick and suffocating, as if the darkness itself was alive. I struggled to move, but the water clung to me, pulling me deeper into the void.“Help,” I tried to cry out, but no sound left my lips. My lungs burned as the dark liquid filled them, choking me. The pressure in my chest grew unbearable, and my limbs felt like lead.Panic clawed at me as the abyss tightened its grip, the currents dragging me down with merciless force. My vision blurred, my mind screamed, and just as I was about to surrender to the darkness, I jolted awake.I gasped, clutching my chest as I shot upright in bed. Kamrynn's POV The hallway was still and quiet, but the pounding of my heart felt deafening as I leaned against Alpha Draven’s door, straining to hear his conversation inside. My super hearing amplified every word, and what I caught made my stomach churn.“Don’t worry,” Alpha Draven’s voice was low but filled with malice. “It’ll happen soon. Just six days from now, a lot of things will change. The mating ceremony will be the mark of a new beginning for us and Orion’s family. They’ll never see it coming.”The venom in his tone froze me in place. This wasn’t just a boast or a vague threat. He was planning something terrible, and the certainty in his words sent a chill down my spine. My breath hitched, and my hands trembled as I tried to process what I’d just heard. What does he mean by "new beginning"? What does he plan to do to Orion and Rmonica? The room fell silent after his last words, but my instincts screamed at me to move. I had to get out of there. Before I could act, the door f

Kamrynn's POV“It didn’t stop there,” Tiona said, her voice barely above a whisper. “The Black Stalker didn’t just take their souls—it used them to spread its poison. The affected villagers would stand in the doorways of their homes at night, calling to others with those dead, hollow voices. And those who answered... well, they joined the ranks of the soulless by morning.”Her words hung in the air, heavy with dread.“It spread like wildfire,” Tiona said, her voice trembling for effect. “By the time the remaining villagers realized what was happening, it was too late. The Stalker had seeped into the very foundation of their lives. And then, one night, it disappeared.”“Disappeared?” another voice asked, trembling. “Just like that?”Tiona nodded slowly, her eyes glinting in the fireligh

Kamrynn's POVThe palace came alive one person at a time, their voices gradually filling the halls with laughter and chatter. Everyone had woken up and slipped back into their routines, but I couldn’t seem to keep up. My thoughts were weighed down by the nightmare and the dread it had left in its wake.Hours melted away like snow on a summer morning, and before I knew it, the sun was sinking below the horizon. Tonight’s agenda was packed—storytelling, singing, a drama performance, a talent show, and even a friendly competition between the Alphas to demonstrate their skills to everyone. The grand finale? A couple’s dance.I cringed at the thought of the last event. If it were up to me, I’d have spent the night in my room, warm under a blanket, away from prying eyes and uncomfortable encounters. But I knew Rmonica wouldn’t let me off the hook.“Company wi

My twins decided tonight was a perfect time for an acrobatics competition, their tiny but powerful kicks relentless against my ribs and belly.I closed my eyes, willing myself to rest, but when the darkness finally came, it brought something far worse than exhaustion. The nightmare—or premonition, given the nature of my powers—was a chaotic mess of shadows and cold whispers. It wasn’t like my usual visions, which were clearer, more structured. This one was fragmented, like shattered glass, each shard reflecting something horrifying but incomplete.I saw Kyven, his face pale and streaked with something dark—blood? His eyes, usually warm, were blank, lifeless, as though he were a puppet whose strings had been cut. Around him, the world twisted a

Kamrynn's POV The moment I stepped outside, the courtyard greeted me with a breathtaking display of light and life. Lanterns hung in delicate arcs along the perimeter, their soft, golden glow illuminating every corner of the space. They flickered like fireflies against the dark velvet sky, casting an ethereal ambiance that felt almost magical. The bonfire at the center of the courtyard was immense, its flames crackling and roaring, sending spirals of glowing embers into the air. The firelight danced across the faces of the gathered Pack members, who sat or stood around it, talking, laughing, and singing with unbridled joy.Above, the moon hung high and proud, its silver light washing over the courtyard like the goddess herself was blessing the celebration. The combination of the moon’s brilliance and the golden hues of the lanterns created a surreal, almost dreamlike quality that made the night feel timeless. To one side of the courtyard was the bustling food court, where the tantali
