Chapter 97

Toby’s POV

Sleep eluded me, as much as I pestered Chris about it, because I could not keep my mind off of Rae. I feel it. I feel every time he touches her. Thankfully, not as strong. I know I’ve said this before but it’s a constant nag.

“Knock knock, Alpha.” I hear Jessica rumble.

Slowly I sit up and look around me. I see the rest of my guards standing around her wearing somber faces.

“We thought that maybe we could have one more spar before we leave, Alpha. We can’t sleep.” She says. “The thought of what he’s doing to her…” She trails off.

I look out the window, it’s still dark, and look back at rest. “Sure. Just be sure to get some more rest.”

“Yes, Alpha.”
