Chapter Fifty One

Klaus PoV

“What?” I murmured, “did my wife just claim to be the daughter of the previous Alpha?”

Initially, I thought I misheard. I struggled with the pain spreading through every part of my body to following the proceedings of the public trial. And then she said it again. Louder, with much conviction.

“Could this day get any weird?” I groaned.

First, Kyle had pounced on me like a vengeful spirit and gave me a thorough thrashing. That bastard was lucky I was chained, or I’d have bitten his head off. Still, I owed him a beating.

Second, Aurora was claiming to be the child of the previous Alpha. From what I heard when I joined the pack, the previous Alpha and his wife were ambushed by bandits near the headless valley. They were on their way back from delivering their baby when the attack happened, and no one survived.

“Could it be that Aurora was the child that was delivered?” I wondered, “is that why she wouldn’t tell me anything about her past? Or about her parents?”
