Chapter 3

The confession

“Hey, careful!” he nagged with an irritated tone. Halos mag dugtong ang kilay niya dahil sa iritasyon.

"Hindi kasi nag iingat. Tsk. Clumsy," he murmured, with a hint of annoyance. 

Muntik na akong matumba sa pag akyat sa mga bato papunta sa private resort nila. Sa kabila nito ay ang napaka gandang dagat. The blue colored ocean, white sand, a rest house enough for a two family to live in, the beach umbrellas and beach chair made me feel more excited. 

I run towards the beach enthusiastically and take my slippers off. Dinamdam ko ang simoy ng hangin at lamig ng tubig sa aking paa. 

Napansin ko ang papalapit na anino ni Shuhn, nang malapit na siya sa akin ay winisikan ko siya ng tubig dagat. 

“Hahahaha, look at you. Mukha ka ng basang sisiw,” I laughed to tease him more. I can‘t stop laughing at his reaction. 

He looked at me with irritation. Palagi na lang stressed ang lalaking ito. 

"What have you done? Now I'm wet! Stop with your childish acts!" he hissed, his eyes darkened. 

It sent shivers to my spine the way he looks right now. I realised it was a bad decision. He's like a ticking bomb, waiting to explode. 

"I-I'm sorry," I apologised and sobbed. I can't help it. I'm scared. 

Biglang umamo ang kanyang mukha, ngunit hindi pa rin nawawala ang bakas ng iritasyon sa mukha niya. 

"Let's go back," he said angrily. 

Basang basa kami nang umahon mula sa dagat, oras na rin para kumain. Naligo ako at nagpalit ng damit bago kumain.

I ordered a seafood plater, it has shrimp, crabs, shells, and lobster. While he ordered a pork barbecue and a java rice. 

“Eat more, you‘re so skinny,” he commanded and give me pieces of his pork barbecue. 

Why is he concerned about my body? He has lots of girlfriends. Why bother look at my body. For sure his girls has an hourglass figure. . 

“Excuse me? I am not skinny," I argued, I was about to defend myself when I got interrupted by a girl. 

"Oh my god! Shuhn? It's really you!" she exclaimed. 

The girl hugged Shuhn tightly and kissed him on his cheek. I'm getting jealous and annoyed. Who's she? Ah, one of his girlfriends. 

"Oh, hi. I didn't see you there, are you one of his cousins?" she asked, and smiled widely. 

"His fiancé," I replied. 

He chuckled. The girl didn't speak and walked away. Tss. She deserves it. 

"Looks like someone's mad" he said, teasing me. 

“Excuse me?“ I asked with a louder voice. I'm starting to get annoyed. 

Inubos ko lahat ng pagkain at nagpahinga. Gagawin ko na ang plano ko. Humahanap lang ako ng lugar para maisagawa iyon.

Nang nag dapit hapon na, inaya ko siya sa tabing dagat para mag liwaliw. Dinala ko ang gitara ko dahil kailangan ito para sa plano ko.

“Shuhn,” I called his name for the first time. 

“Yeah, Lurein?” he replied. 

I clapped my hands two times and the lights turned on, a mini stage was built in the sand with fairy lights and curtains decorated in it. A speaker can be seen behind the backdrop. 

I take a deep breath and close my eyes to calm myself, this is it. It‘s my chance.

I look at him straight in the eyes, I want him to know that I am sincere. 

“The first time I saw you, I was amazed. I admire you at the same time hated you. I admire your features, I can‘t get over you, until I found myself smiling like an idiot because of you. I didn't expect that I would fall for you this fast. I don't mind you having girlfriends, I want you to love me too. I'd do anything for you Shuhn, I won't give up no matter how hard it is," I confessed. 

I looked at his face, he is dead serious now. He‘s scary, I feel intimidated. I bit my lip to stop myself from smiling. I look at the man behind the speaker and cued him to play the song that I choose. 

A song titled Dandelions by Ruth B starts playing.

I take a step forward. "Can I have this dance?" I asked, I handed him my palm and smiled at him. 

He looked at my hand, I hope he'd cooperate. He accepted it and placed his hands on my waist. While I wrapped my arms on his neck. 

We danced slowly and feel the lyrics of the song. It feels so romantic. 

Habang palubog ang araw, umihip ang hangin at tanging tibok ng puso ko ang naririnig, sa sobrang lakas ng pag tibok nito para akong sasabog.

The music ended and he let go of my waist and I did the same to him. 

“It‘s almost evening, let‘s go home,” usal niya. 

I was too stunned to speak and I don‘t know how to react. Did he just rejected me? He didn't answered about my confession but he wants us to go home after all of my efforts?

Nanatili kaming nakatayo habang tanaw ang dagat, nilipad ng hangin ang buhok ko kaya tinali ko iyon. I glance at him, he was staring at me while the wind's blowing his hair. 

I take a step forward, and lean close to his chest. "The song I played while we're dancing, its lyrics describes how I feel about you" I uttered. 

He didn‘t speak, he just keep on staring at me. I can‘t take my eyes off of him, how I want it to be like this. I never thought I will fall in love with him this fast. 

"I'm sorry, I don't feel the same. I can't love you Rhiedly. I don't know how to love," he replied, and shook his head.

"Then I'll teach you, I'll do anything for you to love me. Do you think I'll give up that easy? No. I'm way more than that Shuhn," I said with full of determination. But inside, my heart is torn into tiny pieces.
