CHAPTER SIX

Ashley Black rose from her bed in her matrimonial home. She checked her table clock in her elegantly designed room and realized that if she didn't start dressing up, she would definitely be late for school.

Though she was married, she was still very much a student.

She ran towards the bathroom and completed her morning routine. By the time she was done, she had quickly dressed up, and soon she was ready to go to school.

She walked down the stairs and stopped when she saw him. Her husband, Michael, was already seated on the dining chair, eating his breakfast, which consisted of tea and three slices of bread with scrambled eggs. She saw that hers was also ready. She made her way to the dining room.

"Good morning," she greeted Michael, sitting on the chair beside him and only doing as much as greeting him.

"Morning, how was your night?" Michael asked her.

"My night?" She scoffed. "It was terrific!" she replied, even though she could clearly remember what she had witnessed the night before.

She was in the kitchen drinking water in the middle of the night when Michael had arrived.

She hadn't expected him to come home that night, but when she saw him, he was drunk. He didn't see her, but she did see him—and the red lipstick mark on his polo vividly.

It hurt her to see that the man who was supposed to be her husband was out there having an affair with another woman on their wedding night.

But what could she do? He had clearly made it known to her that he wouldn't be committed.

"Great," Michael replied.

"Thanks for the food," Ashley said as she stood up from the chair. She didn't have the appetite to eat breakfast.

"Where are you going?" Michael asked, cleaning his mouth with his napkin.

"Where else? To school, of course."

"Oh... School..." He replied, forgetting that he was also still a student.

"Yes, I'd be late if I didn't move soon."

"Alright. Let me drop you off at your school."

"Oh no... You don't need to worry; I can just order a cab since we are going separate ways. Remember, we agreed to live our lives like we have been." She smirked, picking up her bag from the chair beside her.

"Don't be ridiculous, Ashley; I can still drop you off at your school, and that's it." He picked up the car keys from the table.

"Jane!" he called to the housekeeper, who was old enough to be his mother.

"Yes, sir."

"Take care of this house by the time we're gone, okay?"

"Yes, sir. I will."

"Great."

"What's the name of your school?" Michael asked, making small talk as they drove out of the estate.

"Everest University."

"What?!" he exclaimed in shock, the car almost colliding with another in front.

"Be careful!"

"Fxck, sorry. I... I was just shocked."

"About what?"

"Your school. Everest University," he replied, lost in thought.

He had never expected her to be in the same school as his. Now he would have to make sure he was very discreet in his ways.

"Fxck..." He ran a hand through his hair, quite frustrated.

"Anything the matter?"

"Huh? No." He replied, shaking his head as he pressed the button to turn on the music.

The drive to Everest University was a silent one. Ashley felt awkward in the car because she didn't know what to talk about; they just sat in silence, no one talking to each other. She breathed a sigh of relief when they reached the school gate.

"You can drop me here, I will take off from here."

"Oh, alright," Michael agreed, stopping the car, and Ashley got out.

Michael watched his wife as she walked away and he released a deep breath. How was he going to survive being in the same school as his wife without getting caught?

After he saw that she was far from sight, he drove into the school, heading toward his faculty, trying to divert his attention from the beautiful ladies walking around the campus, looking hot and sexy.

Was school ever going to remain the same again?
