CHAPTER TWENTY ONE (The Agency)

“Are you leaving so soon, Mr. Dowell?” Mr. Adam was smiling, although his face speaks a lot like someone whose plan has fallen in place.

I smiled inwardly to myself as I understood the game he was playing. He had banked on the fact that sure to how urgent I was required to marry a wife, I wouldn't have been able to reject his daughter. He must be nuts for thinking along that line. I liked taking my enemies by surprise, as I don't want people guessing or predicting what my next move would be.

“ I’m afraid, yes, I have an urgent issue I need to attend to myself,” I replied care freely as I eyed Adam, whose countenance wasn't looking too good. I didn't want to stay too long here or else, I would have called him out, but I had to leave him for now.

“I will have to leave with him too, thanks for your reception Mr. Adams, we will keep in touch.” my dad added, and we walked out of the courtyard.
