CHAPTER FORTY-NINE ( The Hospital Discharge)

It was a bright Saturday morning. I woke up happy and with full strength. It could be because my mother was going to be discharged from the hospital, or because Lucas’s bed has become so cozy and comfortable. My plan was to get to the hospital by 12 pm and help her get to the house. I sat up on the bed and reflect on the past weeks. It was hell, each week came with its own problem. I was happy that I stood strong throughout those phases and remain unbroken. Although I wouldn’t say it to his face, I didn’t forget to thank God for Lucas, who has been showing up at the right time to help. His swift decision has been getting me out of trouble this whole time.
