After pacing around in my room for another five minutes, deciding whether or not to join everyone for breakfast. I knew I couldn't avoid them forever but each time I saw my Mom, it felt like the greatest betrayal to look into her eyes and act like nothing happened.

Avoiding her was only going to make her suspicious, so getting my shits together, I glance at the mirror one more time and hurried down to the dining hall. Deep down, facing everyone at school is where the real courage comes in.
